Franz Strauss - Nocturno, Op.7 (with Score)
Franz Strauss (1822-1905) was a German musician. He was principal horn player of the Bavarian Court Opera for more than 40 years. Franz Strauss is best known as the father of the composer Richard Strauss. This piece, the Nocturno for Horn, op. 7, was composed in 1864 for horn and piano.

Stamitz is a super giant composer and his compositions are melodic which is the style that i want to listen to. I prefer classical melodic music. So, he has been one of my favorites like Vivaldi, Mozart, Beethoven Scarlatti etc. Thanks for uploading.

On a more serious “note,” this piece is pure unadulterated schlock. It needs to be played precisely as Maestro Galway plays it: big glorious warm ringing tone, lots of rhythmical expressiveness and flexibility, and dollops of luscious vibrato lovingly ladled over top of the whole thing!
