Shut up chickens.. lol nice motor
Grew up on a boat and had a zodiac with the 15 Yamaha on the back. Some kid that used to hang out with us showed up with one of these, and we all laughed at him…. He got the last laugh as his gameFisher 15hp smoked all our name engines.
Love it!! Nice motor and nice job!
Isn't it amazing to see these 80 year old motors still running!? Ive got a 1940 D1F. Yours looks and sounds great!
great job!!!!
I got the same motor and it’s a turd
lol give her the old tune up 😜
Only if you maintain it like $#!+.
Thought it was overspending do to running out of fuel. Any two stroke engine is better off if they aren't allowed to do that and run super lean as this was and over speed.
Like wow! Revved it like mad!!! 😮
What color code is that paint
I bought one when they first come out I think it was around the mid 80s, Ran perfect made by weed eater but it was loud. Bought 2 or 3 more through the years The plastic was very brittel and cracked on ever one
Yea it's no OMC but they still run good 👍
Hola ! Que bote es ?
Shouldn't be half that loud.Bought a brand new Johnson 6 in 1975 and you could barely hear it run.
that is beautiful, I love to see new life come into cool old things, that is awesome
Appreciate it
Damn, that's fast AF!!!!
Good Old 2 Stroke Power.
we have the same motor bought it brand new in 66 well my parents did i didn't come along for 2 more years after
The water droplets on the lense simulate the effect of when I get drunk and work on my outboards.
Love it !!! That’s my dream motor 😃
I've got one in Michigan available
Very interested !! What’s condition & price.?
@@stevengraham185 do you have Facebook? I can send pictures via messenger
Thanks for putting this out, how has it held up since you made this video?
Вот оказывается с какого мотора "срисовали" мотор "Стрела", похож один в один. Только Стрела 5 л.с.
Never knew they made outboard motors. That’s one fine looking restoration.
They didn’t make them, they bought them from engine manufacturers and put their name on them.
@@boataxe4605 I believe they where the same as the Scott attwater outboard which where made by the outboard division of muclich chainsaws
Восхищаюсь конструкторами создавшими такую надёжную технику... Это не современные одноразовые изделия , которые производят маркетологи, а не инженеры. Спасибо автору за погружение в историю.
Beauty
That's a nice little outboard motor
Given a 71 model. Had carb issues. Filthy inside. Now runs like a top. Always surprised at how well these motors run.
Beautiful restoration. I have an old Sears (Eska) motor, 9green) w/rope-pull start(no idea on HP)?. Yours is the only other one, I've seen on line. Have no idea how old mine is, but am now restoring-it. Wish me luck.. Starting by draining & replacing oil, in lower unit. I might 'hit-you-up', for a few pointers, as I move-along...
That fuel ratio and oil did you use for your mix , I have a 5hp and from my research all I can figure is water pump Oil at a 16/1 ratio
16/1 is fine but 24/1 will probably run smoother. Use a high quality TC-W3 Outboard Oil. Best of luck 🤞
on less that is a full rolling bearing motor 50-1 mix is no to little oil.
Very true luckily I only ran it for a very short period on 50-1.
Did you ever get a GPS top speed on this?
Muito bonito! 🇧🇷
Muchas gracias
That looks fantastic - love the colour scheme ! Runs like a gem too ! Never seen one before - not sure if they were ever available here in Australia .
Thanks man I appreciate it. I believe they were made from the mid 40s to 50s. I don't think production reached beyond North America but I could be wrong. Take Care & Stay Strong Brother.
Need help, I have my grandfather's 1946 Firestone 3.6. Want to restore it. Where do you find paint and decals for it?
Americanoutboard.com has the decals. The paints Job is original not done before I would have to look into what I used paint wise.
I have what looks to be the same motor but mine has a full starter cup above what yours has
Great video. Thanks for posting.
Mkkkkklö
Hhjj
I have the same one! 12' jon boat
You can even put your iced coffee on the flywheel and it will keep it mixed up for you as you troll around.
where can I get Firestone 3.6 decal
Americanoutboard.com is decent
OMC will be stillbe in buiness if they was allowed to build simple outboard motors as the outboard marind Corp was willbe in buisness if the stuffy EPA was got fiar rules on the outboards as the new rules are a bad rules thiswas the reason OMC went broke in the year 2001 thiswas on 21 years ago now as i knew thiswas a sad end for a outboard motor makers like OMC what a shame these was no OMC as of now
I had a 1955 5hp Firestone motor. It ran great after i replaced some ignition bits, but finally broke while stuck in reverse. Never looked this good though!
You might want to toughen up your transom! Get some wood or a transom block to help support a motor of that size on that boat! Nice!
Beautiful engine, love the colour
Great job.
Thanks man! I just bought one that was seized up for $25. Trying to get it running now!
Your welcome man. Hey if your power head is frozen try the half acetone and ATF mix. Pour it into the cylinder and let it sit for a few days to a week however long it needs and lightly tap on the cylinder and move the flywheel back and forth to free up. Works better than penetration oil. Best of luck
@@wabbomotors4687 Thanks for the tip. It was seized but barely. I poured some oil in the cylinder and was able to get the flywheel to turn with a bit of force. I bet it'll run once I clean the carb.
Where does the water discharge from on this motor to know if the water pump is doing it's job? Thanks for the video!
Pretty strong for a 6.
Where can you get a carburator and fuel tank at for one of these?
Has an internal fuel Tank
Best looking 74 year old motor I have ever seen
I have a Gamefisher 1991 9.9hp and it has a better hole shot than my 1989 Evinrude. They were not too bad if you could get it running correctly.
Do you still have it n is it 4 sale
That has to be one of the prettiest outboards I've ever seen. Nice runner, too. Thanks for sharing it with us. =)
Hey dude. Any ideas where to buy props for this motor?? I have an 8”x9 on mine now and it’s too much pitch for the boat I have.
I don't have one you but you might wan't to keep your eye out for a used one on Ebay they pop up once in awhile. Allstrand Marine should have one but they're not cheap 120.00 ish Best of Luck
Thanks!
What prop size you running?
