Let's see a Part 2! I don't know my season, but I do know I don't look "good" in mustard either, but I don't care. It makes me happy!

I was trying to guess which basic season, and I guessed correct. 😅 If a viewer wants to guess the answer is at 1:55… I think you did pretty good just from your personal style intuition! With your personal season, it helps to memorize like 3 descriptive words so that your fabric choices become easier. I‘m not a summer, but I think I heard you say light and soft a lot. So maybe light, soft and muted could be your color choice mantra. (I‘m bright winter so I go for bright, vivid & contrast) Erm… about yellow: apart from your mustard playsuit, and I know everyone says it’s tricky to find the right yellow, but….the wall behind you is THE yellow that is making you look lovely in this video. 😂 I think that’s your yellow!😂😂😂😂 It would be cool if you made like a hashtag for other sewists and invited them to do this as a mini-challenge. Yes, please do a part 2 with your cold season wardrobe.

Just gifted 2 99k machines to students from the studio. I am now doing on site parties and group sewing sessions using a collection of 99k and featherweights. I love the vintage machines and how simple they are to use and the kids love them. I put sewing needle guards on all of them. Thank you for your inspiration.

My fav Cinderella is the 1950 Walt Disney production ( sorry, but she did have an updo, didn’t she?). Nevertheless, it was her dress that was so memorable for me as was the magic that created it You’re dress was so magical and beautiful! This was a great Dream Roles presentation. It took a year? Hiya! Blue is definitely your color! With the triangular cravat, try rolling up the part closest to your waist before you tie the back. Here in Spain, EVERYONE wears scarves except in summer unless a lady would like to cover her shoulders!

I love scarves; so needless to say, I loved your video. Back in the day, American Airlines required all their flight attendants to wear their uniform scarf with their uniform to be in full regulation. And in retrospect, it did make the uniform polished and professional. I agree, scarves will never go out of style; it’s all how you tie it. Thank you for a wonderful video. Your best one ever. Your Grandma was a big influence; and she would have loved this video!

Fabulous technique! My Mom told us that when she started studying at the couture, the first thing she did for a very long time was put apart hems and stitches, which she did by manipulating a scissor. Also, next time you are working with elastic, you may want to consider folding over your fabric, sewing it on the machine, and then feeding the elastic through the pocket. You don't grow up around two modistas without seeing a thing or two! Best, Ray😊

Hey Kaitlyn! Pleasure meeting you today and thoroughly enjoyed your video on multiple levels. First, you present a deep understanding of historically important women designers-facinating! Secondly, as the son of an alta costura trained modista of corte y costura, you know how to pull a thread AND don't need tape, chalk, or pattern before you cut. And thirdly, you can see the finish product in your mind's eye way before you approach your sewing machine. Mom and my Aunt Elvira learned on a pedal powered Singer (while doing 3 years of training). Oh! The production quality of the video is absolutely superb! Better than 90% of content on TH-cam. I will be sure to spread the word! Continued success to you in ALL your endeavors!
