People around here in Nebraska bitched about Nee while he was here, I did not understand, they were competitive. I watched all those years. Just saw 93 upset over KU recently. They mention he beat Kansas 6 of first 7 years. After he was gone, were they happy. ? , Nebraska regularly beat Kansas, Oklahoma and the other good teams of that era when he was in Lincoln. Otherwise, the guys older than me on the radio pointed out years ago that Joe Cipriano had some success, died young of cancer, but thats about it for NU. Hoiberg just led them to wins over #6 Wisconsin after #1 Purdue earlier. Fred is giving me hope. I think he totally gets it, press asks questions. Get in the NCAA, and get a win, they'll put retired jerseys etc everyone associated with this team in the rafters, and a statue of Fred out front. He guards against it when they talk Tournament, lets not put the cart before the horse 😉

I heard so much Danny Nee bashing during his years. I knew we were lucky. I couldn't understand the ingrates with their negative s**t about him. Had wins against Kansas, Oklahoma when they were good. At least we were competitive. NCAA berth 4 straight years after 1 appearance up through 1987 when he got there. I didn't understand why it wasn't good enough for many who bitched and moaned during his run. He beat Kansas 6 out the 7 years up til then. ? Gawd, I forgot about how much success they were having😊

The best Nebraska basketball teams were in the Big 8 conference. I grew up watching them play.

Nebraska chose Fred Hoiberg over Gonzaga associate head coach Tommy Lloyd...who is now Arizona's head coach. How good would NU be had it chosen Lloyd or Damon Stoudamire instead of Hoiberg? NU chose Tim Miles over Tyronn Lue.

Danny Nee was the only time Nebraska was even remotely decent. It is hard to believe it's been 25 years now.

The Raycom Sports intro/theme brings back memories. In NC, we used to get some Big 8 and Pac-10 games on HTS (Home Team Sports)

@nickwininger I'm gonna guess that you don't know Nebraska basketball very well. Beating any top 25 is a huge deal for us, our basketball team is like Kansas football. Every once in a while we're pretty good but otherwise we suck. And Creighton is in Omaha which is 50 miles from Lincoln so it's a rivalry thing.

2 things I love about this video: 1) NU fans rushing the court after beating a team that is ranked #20. Have more respect for yourself. 2) "Next game facing Lubbock Christian" Find some real teams to play besides Creighton and the Conf. Challenge. That is why you have one of the 3 easiest schedules in the country this year. Play some real teams and people might actually attend games.
