i dont understand why with duckstation,redream,Snes9x,and others my ps4 controller works fine with usb cable, no issues most auto map it just need to plug in. for n64 emulators though its some huge process with things i need to download...

the pokemons don't seem to show up on pokelink with Pokemon Sacred Gold, do is not work with ROM hacks or am i doing something wrong?

I suppose that if I already understood how to use a controller with Project64, this video might have had something in it that I found informative. I'm actually hoping to find a video that says something useful for someone who has a universal controller. In my case, the 8BitDo Pro2. I think the lack of meaningful videos is akin to trying to find help getting up an running with Linux despite all of the gatekeepers.

The pokelink setup worked great, but I can't seem to get cheats to work on VBA-RR...I can get them to work on mGBA just fine. Any thoughts?

It's all good, but it isn't perfect... If you want 4 Joycons connected, there is delay with one or two of the Joycons... I haven't figured out how to fix this yet... It's so annoying when playing games where Joycons are needed, like Mario Party etc... Betterjoy might help for a more stable connection, but it isn't needed for the emulators I have tried...

I see, a tool is still necessary. What a shame. I think Windows 11 originally recognizes the PS4 controller way more effectively than Windows 10 did for the longest time. However then one still needs a tool for many games and programs to notice it, oh well. (Previously one needed even extra tools like the HidGuardian and so on to make it really work in most games. Will see if that will be necessary.)

Yo dude thanks for the guide the Pokelink jazz works but how can i use my third party wireless controller on VBA RR i tried mapping out the buttons but it doesn't seem to react, but it does react on other programs like on Citra or Steam.

Hey im struggling with the lua script file. everytime i try to browse and put it in the gen4_gen5 notepad thing it just says lua51.dll hasnt been found (even when i renamed the file). how do i fix this issue?

the games are weird though when you play it with the incorrect button configuration i would recommend jumping on ebay and buying a cheap nintendo64 usb controller and itll feel like the original console

Saved another person quite the headache. I love the DualSense controller but man it's compatibility even with DS4windows is always funky. (Especially with dark souls game)
