Do you have any suggestions for when the push button seems to be stuck and the shade only goes halfway up :(
@@TjC_3124 Ugh, that sounds like the internal mechanism may be bound up. The only thing I would suggest is trying to extend the blind down 100% (full length), THEN try to retract it. That *might* free up whatever has it bound.
This is a very bad design. It almost looks like it is designed to break if you hit the stop. I can see lawsuits coming and the company needs to recall all of them before anyone gets hurt. Thanks for showing us. I would never buy those.
Hey Dave, I just finished this job on my wife's 2010 Sienna. I've done "fill and spills" before, but your video helped me with a few details. Thank you for taking the time to make this, and for your fastidious attention to detail. I know you sold your van but for the benefit of other readers, I will add a few more notes: 1. I drained 4.15 qt, and confirmed that I needed exactly this much to restore the proper level. When you buy new ATF, buy 5 quarts, not 4. 2. I did not need to raise the vehicle to access the drain bolt. I live in a windy area. As long as you can get access, minimum lift is better to avoid fluid splatter. 3. I use an 18-qt container with a hollow lip, Capri brand, Model # 21023. It's fantastic for minimizing splashes, and it pours without spilling. HIGHLY recommended! 4. I also use a marked milk jug as a measuring container. When you pour the old ATF in, put some 4x4's or bricks around the base of the jug to keep it from tipping. Thanks again for your time. Good wrenching to all!
@@whoamyohio Great tips!
They're plastic, that's what's wrong with them. Plus those large gaps running lengthwise and width-wise.
Junk... hardly any material holding it together! The better ones are all one piece, not with the big space's in between! Design failure.💀🎲
With rubber bushings, I would put the weight of the car back on that tire before tightening those bolts. Those bushings can only torsionally deflect so far before being damaged. With poly bushings, since they can rotate on the inner steel sleeve, it doesn't matter, but rubber can't. It's stuck to the inner and outer sleeve.
Thank you Dave, really appreciate your thoroughness on this repair. Watching you and your son working together brought back fond memories I had with my dad.
Thank you for the significant effort of producing this film! Do you still endorse it?
@@dmitry7908 Absolutely!! I used my Quickjack on a video I hope to edit and release in a week or two working on my mom's Buick. Thanks!!

@@RobS282 Area of driveway where I used them was flat as always. Think the cause will remain a mystery. Didn't replace them, bought steel ramps and got a QuickJack.
Just finished doing this on my 07 es350 with 200K miles. Previous owner had done a full flush at 146K at a local shop so I know it was not filled with Toyota WS. I decided to use 3 quarts of Valvoline maxlife ATF. Mine seemed to be 1/2 quart overfilled last time. Your funnel idea worked perfect! The drain plug really fought me on this one though. I'm up in the Northeast and it's been 8 years since that was off so it was rusty or the last guy way overtightened it. Used PB blaster to free up some of the rust and had to walk away from it a few times after bending allen wrenches but after a couple hours it was off. I was not expecting much improvement but i was pleasantly surprised. I notice the biggest difference on mine up at highway speeds. It feels like more power is getting to the wheels and I have a 1 MPG improvement over the last 200 miles. Very happy it's done and now I know how to do it on future es350s! Love these cars and carcarenut. Thanks again for the help Dave!

I was able to successfully reprogram the alarm . However I’m not able to start the car with the new key … it tries to start but the engine won’t turn . Anyone having this issue ?
So it *cranks* but just doesn't turn over? Almost sounds like a drained battery off the cuff....

Any flashing check engine light is sign of a chronic, ongoing misfire. I'd put a code reader on it and try to figure out which cylinder and go from there.

Uh oh if you're losing power and have a flashing check light that makes me concerned you have a plugged catalytic converter. If you have a code reader I would look for P0420 codes.

if you use the crush washer over and do not install new one will it leak, stupid question i know but has trans oil changed recently and something is leaking trans fluid on the ground and i am adding oil every so often, thanks for any response, thank you
Not typically, especially if you checked it after you refilled it. I'd look for any other possible leak sources, like the drain pan gasket or a loose cooler line to the radiator.

Is 2 and 6 same firing timing - complementary fire?
They both receive spark, but only one of each cylinder is under compression. That's where they get the "waste spark" moniker.
I get 21mpg on my 3.0 L v6 Ford Ranger. That is mixed highway and city driving.
At this point Dave grabs the old key.... 😂🤣 ..... and the engine starts. 😉

You need to buy the proper extension pads Do NOT! Stack rubber blocks they will shoot out, i have seen someone do this at dealer with rotary lift as well, never ever stack rubber blocks this is bad advice and can get someone killed
Sorry, but that's simply not correct. The vendor explicitly sells the pads as stackable.

Help! 2019 Ranger 2.3l. 99k. Time to change packs and plugs. Altho running fine Ford recommended. Anyway, it was fine and then 10 miles from home went to fuel up from total empty tank. Left engine running. Bad habit. Went to leave and running really badly. No power. Obd said misfire cyl3. Came home to put old parts back on after trying the swapping trick several different ways. The old plugs and packs are back on but the obd is telling me misfire 3 and 4! I'm stumped. It was fine with the old ones and now I can't see why I have misfires. Plz help. TIA
I'd almost start looking at things *incidental* to the parts you replaced, like perhaps a vacuum hose knocked loose, connector to crank or cam sensor loose, something in that vein. I'd even suspect bad gas isn't impossible! Let me know how it goes.
@DIYDaveOK Thanks man, I really do appreciate the speedy response 🙏 I'm just baffled lol. But yea I'll keep yall posted.
@@scottyengland607 I'll be glad to help as much as I can 😊
Also, just to make sure, *all* original parts are back but the misfires continue?
@DIYDaveOK Thanks. Yes. I put all of the original oem parts back on. Mostly because I was tired of trying to chase a brand new coil/plug that was probably faulty. Then I drove it to the shop. The man thought it may have been the fuel injection. When we went to pick it up he charged me 1 hour labor and said all he had to do was replace one of the coil pks. One of the ones we already had! Swore he drove it for about 10 minutes. Long story short, we left and half way home it's not throwing cel but still fouling out, jerks and bogs down like it's gonna die. So it didn't get fixed. It's not nearly as bad but it is still there occasionally. I'm picking up another new set of coils and plugs to eliminate the possibility of 1 or more of the firstset were just defective. Not sure if it might work itself out the more I drive. Wish me luck 🙏
Thank you for showing the first lift in real time, as the lift actuated in 10+ second before it moved. That was a key concern for me. Great vid!
Glad it was helpful!
Love you buddy! you're awesome.

The way they are designed creates a shear point it appears, you can still use them, use some steel flat bar to connect the halves with nuts & bolts, THEN fill all those crevices with high strength concrete

Great job!!!
I think i lost the programming of my original key fob :( any help?
Ugh if you think the original key has been deleted from the computer you may be in trouble. The AP200 cannot write an *original* key to my knowledge. Other tools like the ThinkDiag *might* but would almost certainly require the vehicle PIN that was stamped on a key cutout shipped with the vehicle to the original purchaser. In any case, be very careful because if you inadvertently delete ALL the keys, it will effectively brick the vehicle and will require a dealer or locksmith with higher-end key programming tool or (for Toyota) a copy of TechStream software to program a new master key.
The cloned one is working
@@DIYDaveOK the original key fob can be reprogrammed?, with this tutorial?, the key in original and cloned are working, the remote control only in the cloned one after the programming.
