Hi great video, I just had one delivered today also an eBay finds , its been in a garage for ten or more years unused , it's very dirty but after unsticking the engine it turns over nice with the pull start , no body shell but I have a few to try out until I find the correct one and no radio gear but I have spares to use on the truggy , right now I have sprayed it with wd40 and i will let that soak over night and tomorrow see if I can get the engine to run and see if the two servos work , the wheels and tires look good with no cracking to the rubber just need a clean and regluing, so up to now I pleased with my £40 including the postage eBay find , how did you get on with your own truggy did you find any problems mate 🇬🇧

Recently picked one up also, However, the motor is cooked in it, and it seems here, Nitro is all but a thing of the past, it's hard to get the fuel, much less a sleeve and piston for it! I'm really concerned about making parts and converting it over to electric, which I know makes no sense as there are much better platforms nowadays for electric trucks.

Nice. I have an old RS4 2 that has been in the box in my basement for roughly 20 years that I am going to bring back to life. Been acquiring parts/hop-ups and will be videoing the process in the near future.

Hi James, just found your channel, nice content! Curious what persuaded the decision to go HB for 2WD versus a more common buggy? I'll confess I am a bit curious about the vehicle, but the fact here in the States is runs almost double the cost compared to other 2WD buggies is a big off putting. Lastly, that is one heck of a facility you have there, not a back place to call home is it? Take care!

The adjustment screw is a little a skew so I can’t get a 2 mil driver in there. I’ll have to take it apart. RC Brooks is a huge Savage guy and he has a detailed fix on his TH-cam channel

Hopefully it shifts gear for you. I got a brand new previous gen 4.6 X that was sitting in HRP’s warehouse. Yep, emailed them everyday for almost two weeks and they finally emailed me back asking me to stop contacting them. So funny, they said they’d make one available online. It was $499 and on HRP’s website they offer a $30 coupon for purchases over $250. They ship directly from Utah so there’s no sales and shipping was also free. So yes, brand new 4.6X that was last generation, but again was brand new just sitting in a warehouse for years. $470 and that bad boy was all mine. It’s stuck in second so no wheelies. I’ll have to get into the transmission one day and sort it all out. Good luck

I’ve just picked up one of these with the m3 body. Zero use on it at all it was a shelf queen. Got all original equipment still in the original packaging unopened only thing I don’t have is the original box can’t wait to run it although gonna put a chassis protector on it first

I got one of these , bought from brand new ran once has a friend ran over it with his nitro monster truck causing it full throttle into a kerb, I did a major expensive rebuild and a different engine from the hpi rush , but unfortunately it never ran so I borrowed the radio crystal and a steering servo for my hyboa which I don't have now, so my Mt2 is sat in its original box collecting dust , unfortunately

I have the same one I bought it probably 20 something years ago brand new. I'm pretty sure I put a 2 speed transmission in it and bought the best engine hpi had to offer in it at the time. Unfortunately it sits in a plastic bin in my basement so I don't break it lol. So cool to see someone else that actually has one still in good condition!

Useful video, thanks. I've been trying to get mine to run reliably, but I'm not having much luck. It just about starts (via rotostart) but won't run for more than a few seconds. Like yours mine is covered in fuel so I suspect I've got a leak somewhere.

Having fun. That is pretty clean and there fast enough for a single speed but i believe the rs4 two speed fits straight on these and the G3.0 engine bolts straight to the chassis for some extra mph

I still have my viper lol it came with the 15fe motor i was wondering whats the biggest motor you can fit in it? I want to swap the motor out and make it faster i already have the 2 speed installed

The savage was never released in the late 90s the tmaxx was released in 1999 though. The savage 21 came out in 2002 and the savage 25 was released in 2005 I think and I forgot when the savage x was released

Aww waw great Nitro this is what I raced back in 2008 I had a cool BMW m3 bidy in black for mine yeah! Nothing ever went wrong with just remember to empty the tank when your finished and having it sitting a couple of days the fuel clogged in the lines on it but just let it idea out of fuel get the air filter for it they definitely need it mine ran alot better with one there not for show on these HPI RS4 evos mine used to stall like heck without it or if the top got clogged with crap! They go through plugs like mad so grab alot! This remedied with the air filter the engine wasn't heating up as much to kill the coils! What mixture nitro you using in it? Was just but rich n idea could do with being turned down another slight turn another thing with mine if it went on its roof get to it quickly it floods it and trying to bleed it was the quickest way getting it back running but you'll pick the wee temperamental thing of it up through time I loved mine so much mine got stolen from the work shed had everything for it! They stole the lot!

i know this is an older video, but i am super curious what the difference between the 817 v2 and the 819 is.. or if it is even worth upgrading to the 819.. i got my hands on a second hand 817 v2 recently and i love the platform. i am also curious if the 819 parts will fit on the 817 due to the 817 being phased out soon.

Nitro gangggg. Quick question, I think the 4.6x has been around for a long time. Are all the 4.6x savages the same or did they update them with stronger components at some point?
