I was eleven when this happened. It was indeed a horrific day for our city. Before the perpetrators were caught there was talk that the Russell Street bombing could have been an act of terrorism. I was in Grade Six. Instead of 'Show and Tell' each morning my class would discuss news and current affairs. My teacher talked about this bombing with us.

"The police commissioner said this places Melbourne at the forefront of world terrorism" fuck Australia is so desperate to be recognised by the world, soon as something happens here it's like "oh look world look at us we can be like you too" how sad and pathetic like some little kid at school that wants the other kids to notice him/her

Wow what an awesome find. I was there. Ok was inside the lift at RMIT TAFE just opposite Russell st and about 500m from the police station. I will never forget that moment. A huge muffled explosion and us stuck in the lift as it shook. We thought the lift was going to fall. I was studying TOP Year 11 at the time.
