The many faces of Eczema!
Join me as we explore #eczema! Learn how eczema doesn't actually mean atopic dermatitis, but that it's a broad term we use to describe a particular appearance of a rash. The appropriate treatment depends on the underlying cause!
In the video, we touch on atopic dermatitis, stasis dermatitis, contact dermatitis (both irritant and allergic), and more!

    Hello, Dr. Steven Chen, I am a Chilean doctor applying for a dermatology residency and in addition to thanking you for this valuable video, I wanted to leave the doors open to making a collaborative interview-type video in the future since I am also a TH-camr. Your 5-year program that involves dermatology and internal medicine is very interesting. We don't have anything similar in Chile. Talking about these two different realities would be great.

    Hello Dr chen .I truly appreciate your guidance and insights. I recently completed my medical studies in Africa (DRC) and am now transitioning to the U.S. to pursue a focus on public health, specifically in epidemiology and biostatistics. I would be very grateful if you could share any advice to help me succeed in this new chapter of my journey.

    I have this too. Over 33 years with no answers. I stopped going to doctors after the 1st 10 years because the cost became too great & I was getting no where. Never got any answers as to why I have this or how to stop it.

    Can erythema multiforme show up as just one lesion in one part of the body and one lesion in another? Or is it always many lesions?

      That'd be unusual, but I guess not impossible. It's usually a true eruption with multiple lesions.

    What would be the difference between lichen simplex chronicus and chronic eczema? Are they mutually exclusive?

    • @mrandmrsheme
      @mrandmrsheme 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      LSC is a result of chronic friction (which includes scratching), so chronic eczema usually looks like LSC because of the itch/scratch that happens. However, you can get LSC without eczema before it (for example, I see it a lot with people who wear tight shoes which leads to LSC).
