Tunku Abdul Rahman speech February 1956
This is great. Can't wait to hear part 2
Cambridge grads & member of the Inner's Temple. Superb & brilliant.
Horrible voice and accent.
Clear Crisp Command of English… Heard he also enjoyed the occasional Whiskey 😊
not more after 60 years, nowadays Malay see it "useless"
This old recording of Tunku Abdul Rahman's speech proves Pulau Pinang (Penang) belongs to the state of Kedah.
how? if yes, why dont claim it from Federation or UK
Used to be but not after 1957 even after consulted with the Commission and also then Sultan Kedah who asked the people of Penang whether they wish to remain part of Kedah or by their own. In the end the then Rulers respected the choices made by the people. It was the people who fought for independence through unity and the rulers respected that.
@@julianho6791 ok , I though Penang get independence from after uk colonize Penang which kedah secede to uk, same as Singapore. Singapore don’t return to Johor after uk give sg independence
Many people being mislead by certain videos in youtube by saying Federation of Malaya and Federation of Malaysia was the same thing. It was not. Malaya reach independent from British Colonnial and Her Majesty on August 31 1957. Malaysia or Federation of Malaysia formed in 1963 between Federation of Malaya, State of Singapore, North Borneo (Sabah) and Sarawak. In 1965 Singapore expelled by Federation of Malaysia and get Independent from British Government and Mr Lee Kuan Yew appointed as Prime Minister.
Not very "professional" to say a race course was nuisance. It simply means there's an attraction or just say not feasible for a race course to be there anymore as it created traffic congestions or impression does not align well with Islamic values. done. why call it nuisance?
💚💚💚💚💚
That's why Penang was so important to the English EIC back then.
This fortress is not haunted. It is an underground building with cooling effect " natural aircond" on top of the hill. The British army made a mistake before Japanese Imperial Army invade Peninsula of Malaya before December 1941. The giant CANON is placed to the west of Penang Island while the Japanese troop march from the east ( Butterworth). This ineffectiveness CANON being destroyed by British Army before retreat to Kampar and till now we only see a big solid metal track or stair to upload ammunition and bombs.
Yes. It's an interesting piece of engineering for sure which was unfortunately facing the wrong side. We have another episode on this coming up. Thanks for watching. We still thing its spooky though 😅

This old fart only pays attention to construction projects with inflated costs. How is his family so rich? All these at the expense of education, demolished the British system, and many forget (mudah lupa) this is the same fella that started Math and science in Malay when he was education minister. Good luck writing international scientific papers in Malay. Readership = 0
West media full of fake news

Any updates on this place recently?
This guy is telling everybody the wrong information, if the Malay did not want to work in the plantation estate or tin mining, he is lying. Please look into the movie Anak Bapak by the late Tan Sri P Ramlee. In the film, the Malays are working in the rubber plantations estate and also working in the tin mine dredger. This fellow bullshits too much because he hate the Malays because the Malays did not want to follow his ideas of making the Malays stupid.
Wow interesting information
