This video features me typing on four different mechanical keyboards. The first keyboard is my trusty Filco Majestouch Minila Air with Cherry MX Brown switches. It's a very compact Bluetooth keyboard which does not sound half-bad (in my opinion). The second keyboard is a custom-built keyboard based on the Magicforce 68 chassis. It has a programmable PCB, clipped Cherry stabilizers and Kaihl Pro...
DIY phono preamplifier part 2: the CNC phono stage
มุมมอง 8K2 ปีที่แล้ว
If your turntable uses a magnetic phono cartridge, you most likely need a phono preamplifier (also called a "phono stage") to listen to your records. The CNC phono stage is a popular option among DIYers. The circuit is really simple and could be built on a piece of veroboard, but there are also premade PCBs available. The total cost of building one of these phono stages is approximately 100 to ...

Sanyo batteries seem to have good longevity. I've got a Dell Latitude D420 which also has a Sanyo battery, and it still holds charge for about 1.5-2 hours despite being over 15 years old. On all the other laptops I had the battery usually died after 3-5 years.
using a p3b-f and a nehamiah c3. no matter what setting i use for smb it just spits out "new settings: system FSB 50.0 Mhz", but I don't actually think it changes the FSB. Am i using the tool wrong? (smb /sp 10 50 | smb /sp 10 66 | etc.)
Will it work with regular ssd m2 drive (not NVME) on T480s?
we built this preamp years ago. we also built the one for mc (circuits from the application notes of LME opamps) we even used the lme49990 and the recommended power supply (consist of lme ic also) used the exact values of network based on computation by series/parallel of components. excellent performance.
Great vid, just bought an almost 10 year old razer blade off ebay and its currently going through the memtest ringer but everything looks great!

Thank you for the guide, helped with checking ebay sellers claims of good battery life.
I have built this and it is very good

what is max NVMe/SATA port driver size for T480/T580? and secondary slot max storage ?
Both slots will take drives of any size
@@yeoldestuff 2TB or less?
@@2DAnimax 2TB, 4TB, you name it
@@yeoldestuff 4TB? sure?
@@2DAnimax NVMe specs place no limit on the capacity, and there are many reports of 4TB drives running perfectly fine in the T480/T480s. I don't believe that you would be able to find a B-keyed 4TB 2242 drive though, so the secondary drive will be limited by whatever you can find.
Algún video haciendo libreboot a thinkpad x230?
Where to buy this pads ?
Thank you so much. You got a new subscriber. Will it work with a 1 TB SSD or will be better a smaller one.
Hi and welcome, it should accept any size SSD.
me looking this video on the refurbished t480 i just got: :)
How much?
awesome
Still using my x230 in 2024 anyone else hit the like button
Great tutorial! I would like to know if is it possible to run an OS on that ssd or you just use as data storage?
Hi. Yes, it is possible to install an OS on the second SSD, you can choose which OS to boot by pressing F12 when the Lenovo logo appears on the screen.
hmmm nice ;)
The unimouse has a problem with the loosening rubber list. Same happened to mine. But my wrist doesn't hurt anymore But It is the best comfort.
Yes, the rubber strip on my Unimouse first became sticky and started peeling, and then completely fell off. Kinda embarrassing for a €100 mouse.
Very Helpful, thank you. Liked and subscribed, sir.
Thanks! Ill be checking mine now hopefully it'll be great XD
Scroll wheel performance was want I wanted to know about, thanks, will not buy the unimouse
Great video man, thanks
ihave the t 460. it works great and has removable batteries. i picked upthe dockfor it too.
I was able to get one without any wear, had docking station and chargers on ebay for only £40. I sure got lucky.
Lucky you! Enjoy your ThinkPad :)

Does thinkpad t490s also support second ssd like this? Reply, pleaaaasee... I need more storage. Thx
It does not, unfortunately
@@yeoldestuff oh no, so i have to add external ssd

well.. its just a cyrix cpu.. they sucked in dos days because they had terrible math processing if any at all. so I not sure its the best.. would expect a k6 to out perform a c3/cyrix., quake needed a math processor. a dx cpu. It ran fine on my am486dx4 back in the day.
Well, in my case it's running at 866MHz, so it's actually quite a bit faster than the K6 at, say, 400MHz. In fact, it seems to perform about as well as a Pentium II running at 400MHz. The K6 would still be faster on the clock-for-clock basis though.
ur the goat bro this is so clean
Link to buy SSD in WWAN slot?
I got mine on eBay. There are several suitable models, e.g. Toshiba BG3, Kioxia (Toshiba) BG4, WD SN520
I just bought one with i7, 8GB, 256 SSD. I have several Thinkpads: X1C2018, T480,T450S, X201, X250, want to try this legend, plan to mode it with ips screen and x220 keyboard.
Hi thank you very much for your great video I have a question about traditional power supply point 1:45 in the video You mention an inductor to be placed after the regulator To suppress what ? i mean what kind of AC noise could come out from the regulator not suppressed Have you tried also the classic regulator circuit ? Thanks a lot again Kind regards, gino
Hi gino, traditional monolithic regulator ICs such as LM7815 and LM317 can be quite noisy depending on the load capacitance, with noise peaking anywhere between 1 and 20 kHz depending on the load and other parameters of the circuit. Placing an LC or an RC filter after the regulator should help to suppress the aforementioned noise peaks.
@@yeoldestuff Hi thank you very much for your kind and extremely valuable advice I clearly have to study more the topic and i am about to do it Could these filters be places indifferently after or before the regulators ? and what would be your best option RC or LC filter ? thanks a lot again
@@gino3286 You’re welcome. The filter should be placed after the regulator. It is easier to get a lower cut-off frequency using an LC filter but frankly an RC filter should be just as efficient. For example, using a 1000uF capacitor and a 2.7Ohm resistor would effectively kill everything above 60Hz.
@@yeoldestuff thank you very much again I am starting now to do something I will start trying to measure noise from power supplies in the audio band using a low noise sound card and Arta software power supplies quality is very important in audio equipment Kindest regards gino
Where are you getting the pre made pcbs? I didnt want to look though all 160 pages of the thread to try and find a file for the design
They are sold by user Sachu888

Just subscribed. When are you coming back?!
Thank you for subscribing. I plan to resume uploading videos in a month or two
@@yeoldestuff Looking forward to it.
I built one of these when they first appeared on Audiokarma. Mine uses a 9 volt battery and I have been meaning to upgrade to a better power supply. These boards are high quality and the result is amazing. allows your old ceramic phono amp to use modern tonearm and cartridge.
does thinkpad t470 also support second ssd like this? please reply.
You can use the WWAN slot to add a second SSD to the T470, but it should be SATA. It won't work with an NVMe drive.
Thank you!
nice clean bass!
3:10 that's just false, not every usb-c port supports power delivery (aka charging)
Sounds great! I'll have to take a closer look at the design. Thanks for sharing.
Have you tried the porta pro?
Hi. Yes, I am familiar with the Porta Pro, they sound a bit "bloated" compared to the KSC75. The KSC75 have a much clearer and more spacious sound.
Thank you for this video and the link for the headband ❤
