with a cold start of diesel engine needs to work at 950rpm for a 2-3 min. it is a big mistake to step on the pedal immediately after the start. that makes a life of the engine smaller.
Half a minute for the oil to get moving in normal temperatures, in minus it takes at least 1, 1.5 minutes. After that, you shouldnt leave it idling, because it is a diesel engine, the lower the pressure in the cylinder and the lower the temperature, the more strains is being put on the pistons and the cylinder wall and it can cause compression losing after a while. What I would do is start it, wait 1 minute and than raise the rpm to 1.2K and keep it there for a minute
Well, in the cold is engine not running well. Lot of condenzated water is in cilinder. Its called raining. If you drive slowly and carefully, the engine gets to a working temperature faster. The faster in working temperature more better.
@@filiphaska3653 the pgisical lows tell us other. If you press the pedal more it will manage temperature of work faster because the engine "drink" more fuel. The problem is with the oil - it has not access to the smallest lines because it is lile a jelly(not so liquid). And the friction is much, much more and dry - without normal oil-leyer between metal parts.
what a jerk, you don't have an idea what you're doing... first of all you should wait the lamp for the glow plugs to go off and then try to start the engine, and second - the revving at cold engine is something that only complete idiot would do
well if the car is in good condition even after so many years i don't see a reason why should i destroy it with such a stupid behavior... if it works, then don't try to break it forcibly

10-30sec is enough for oil and water pump... IDLE working is the worst thing for every engine.
