I've been looking everywhere to see if there's a better option to chopping and adding frame sweeps, this looks great! One question, do you think I could get away with this operation (only step-up, not boxing) with the front-end still in-tact and on the ground, long as I keep frame leveled & weld-heat minimized? I see some people go nuts tacking frames down to a table while others aren't so precise. Thanks for the great video!

I think the F350 I just bought has a bed that's not worth rebuilding after watching your vid. the only reason to save mine would be the exterior bed sides are already painted nice, but the entire bottom and even front brace is toast. seeing the floor is $550 alone it might be less work and aggravation to pick up a non rusted bed for $2k and just lay paint down to match. it's a shame more people don't fix their beds up before they are too far gone for repair.

Did you space the insulation board out from the metal sheeting so to have an air space between it and the outer panels

Did you keep track of how many hours it took from start to finish? I'm looking for a body shop who could do this for me on my 2011 F250 short box. I haven't priced out the bed floor from Ford yet but an after market place sells it for $590 with the 3 cross members also. Thanks in advance.

Moving right along with electrical. And you are right. Put as many outlets as possible. I got two outlets in my garage and makes me crazy.

Looks good John. All that bracing will make a huge difference firming the building up.

If you would have cut the frame on a 45 degree cut you would only had to raise the frame straight up.then plate ends.much stronger.drop would be height of frame.

That F1 crossmember looks right at home in there! 👍

How long did it take to replace

We’ll I called ford parts an as of today is 12/292021 they are 2,400 buck so replacing rails lol

Great idea on the trough converting into 2” conduit. I was racking my brain how to clean up the exact same set up!

I have an 04 excursion that needs this exact work on the passenger side. Are you anywhere close to Ohio? I think I would rather pay you to do it than try to tackle this myself.
