I put some pipe insulation on my seat frame for that extra cushioning effect, but also got a quieter seat - no squeaks. That was on a Greenspeed GTO that had the nylon mesh seat. The Dumont is a winner on my list alongside the Greenspeed Magnum.

One thing that Allen, Plano, McKinney can do a much better job of is routine trail maintenance with a big rotating brush rig. Some I will push for if I get on the advisory board. Of course we can do part by stopping and clearing trail hazards as we ride.

The Low Riders took some of the same route, surprised we didn’t bump into each other. I see Sergei has a rear hub motor but can’t make out the Trike. Don’t think it is a Catrike. Wit was a great morning for a ride.

I think you need to focus on your TH-cam channel video SEO(Search Engine Optimization). I I have analyzed your TH-cam channel and I saw that your video is not SEO optimized. So your video doesn’t rank on TH-cam and you never get a good result. So you will do video SEO. Your video will rank on TH-cam and You will get more views day by day.

Years back took a chance and rode the Expedition into a rain forecast. Lost the bet and the deluge chased and caught up a mile from home. Trike and rider got soaked before cover could be found. Another reason to wear a helmet….hail!

Looks like there are a lot of scavengers out there Mike who want to make themselves a buck off your camera work. I bought a dash cam during Prime Days, but haven’t installed it yet. Now I am encouraged to do it!

For sure trikes are a different thing on the trail and it’s a real opportunity for trike riders to be different too. Different in that they are courteous, friendly and thoughtful After all we are introducing a new “sport “ and should promote a positive image of another way to enjoy and share the trails.

The initial range is based on the battery level. That’s why after two miles I checked again to give it time to adjust to my cadence. On both it went up at the two mile mark but overall it ended up slightly less. Home has no factor. It was just where I started for this controlled test.

Do you get the same starting estimated range every time? On every trail? Or do you start only from home? The range is usualy calculated based on your current riding behaving so even the starting one can be based on your last ride’s last mile or so. Would need to check that. I have never really did any test about it.

Thanks for the tip of stopping short of an intersection when a car is nearing. I hadn't thought of that one. I'd also like to hear what bell you have because I haven't found one loud enough. I recently visited a nearby city with a nice 26-mile circle trail around it, but being unfamiliar there had a couple encounters I was unprepared for. One was this guy on a bicycle cresting a short but steep hill, then seeing me, and purposely riding down the middle of the trail, forcing me to lose momentum and pull over into forest. What do you do about bullies like that? Another was along the waterfront downtown this lady who may have been in an altered state of mind standing in the middle of the path facing my direction but her attention absorbed in her phone, purposely ignoring me. I decided it was best to slow way down and go wide through the lawn. More generally, there's the question of blind corners everywhere. We know no one is expecting to suddenly see a recumbent trike pop into view, and there's not always an escape path. This is some of the important stuff we have to sort out as we gain experience on trikes. Generally, my solution is anticipate and whenever in doubt slow down. A lot down. Also whenever needing to ask someone to let me by, greeting them as I pass. Because in addition to etiquette in the moment, we're ambassadors of our kind, and we want people to have a positive experience of us. That's why when some driver stops to let me by, which I wish they wouldn't do, and I see he or she will be insistent about it, I smile and wave a thank you. Overall, I get lots of compliments, people who are seeing a recumbent trike for the first time. Reply

I’ll be down your way, I’m going to John’s trike and bike shop in Lancaster on Tuesday he wants me to come and test ride some trikes because I’m thinking of getting a new custom one from Azub, so he wants me to test ride one before I make the decision.

Sorry I missed this ride. Early morning is pretty much the only time to ride in a Texas August. Left the house at 4:30 am this morning and got a very comfortable 25 mile ride out to Lake Lavon. Enjoyed watching this slalom course through the woods.

In a more perfect world the motor system would have the “smarts” to collect voltage, current, distance, speed, pedal effort input and compute a very accurate “miles remaining” number. Perhaps even going into an autopilot mode and adjust its assist to make sure it will get you home when you tell it you are still 10 miles out. Thanks for running the trial Mike. My Befeng model does not have a range predictor. So I slide in the second battery, top off the charge on both when I ride with the Plano Lowriders. You never know where you will end up with those guys.

Lol, what a wholesome video. I always get annoyed at cars that stop and try to wave me through, when they have the right of way, often they do it on roads where traffic goes in both directions and they are the only ones stopped so now I cant go and there is a line of cars backing up behind them which just makes crossing take even longer for me, I almost always wave them on aggressively so they keep moving.

I’ve had a Dumont for a couple years now. My only regret is not getting one sooner. I’ve pushed mine up to 30mph. And comfortably cruise at about 15 to 18mph. I don’t get trike butt riding my Dumont, the seat has always been comfortable for me. You may want to tighten up seat webbing. The Dumont and 559 have the same seat back. The suspension is what sold the Dumont for me. In my area there are a lot of rough roads and the suspension takes the meanness right out of the ride. So far I have no regrets owning and riding my Dumont.

Mike are there any bike clubs that you could recommend? I'm senior and ride a mountain bike. I live in Plano and have been riding the trails daily.
