What's bizarre is that this guy seems to be the only guy on TH-cam with this machine. Can't Phillips ship this to other people so we can see a few different opinions.
That’s amazing. So with a touch of a button it grinds and brews… I’m guessing it ramps the coffee too. I wonder if you can adjust grind size to compensate for different roasts …
How does this compare with Brevilles Barista Express? Thx for the video!
@@dlnnyc64 bothing to compare with… apples & pears. Brevilles is huge compared to Baristina and with whistles & bells. Baristina humble and simple.

So, how are things going 2 months later? You still using your Baristina? Are you still happy with it? That thing now launched in Germany, and since I'm gonna need to replace my old Nespresso machine soon, I'm thinking about getting this one as a replacement.
@@vincentwarte4435 will do an update one day soon, indeed still very happy, tried a veriety of beans and all still works smoothly. still needs longevity testing
Is it possible to adjust the grinding grade from coarse to fine?
@@florian5987 no adjustment possible… keep it simpel seems to be the just adagium

the grinder probably does not go too fine, and I assume it is a pressurised basket. for that reason they might go for the 9.6 gr per shot

@@Europeandaytrader temperature is absolutely fine, i did not measure but i expect around 80 to 85 degrees

@@maze8432 tja, wat is een hit? ik denk dat de gemiddelde consument (die natuurlijk niet bestaat) bonen een ‘ver van mn bed show’ vindt. en het apparaatje is prima qua vormgeving maar mist een ‘haakje’

I don't think their market for this machine are people who care about grind settings and brew time. Maybe a pro version in the future, with an added steam wand?

Have you had any issues with the machine cutting out when grinding? For some reason, my machine will randomly cut out after you slide it to the right and then will only function when you turn it off / on again. Seems random...

Can it match an espresso from a semi automatic?
yes, sofar; for sure. not it all comes to longevity; how long will it keep brewing without interruptions
thanks for the update I like to know about: Volume of brewing temp settings
no temperature settings, water volume can be adjusted for both cup sizes. i’m now counting how many cups from a 150 gram of beans. grinding amount can not be adjusted

@@justalferink7427the machine is designed to use 9 to max 10 grams of grinded beans per serving. Also, for setting your own volume (till max 200ml) you just hold the button for Espresso and press again when your desired amount has been reached. If you want to reset this you push and hold all 3 buttons on top to reset.
Ik zie dit echt als een vervanger van mijn huidige volautomaat. Maar eerst eens ergens proeven wat de kwaliteit is. Gaat mij om de smaak en gebruikers gemak vergeleken met mijn huidige JURA Ik hoop op verdere updates van je.

As a designer, what do you think about the build quality? I'm considering getting one of these for home and also my office... Do you think it will hold up in an office environment making lots of coffee every day? Say 30ish coffees per day?
good question, one week of use will not give (you) the answer. 30 cups a day with a 300 euro machine is challenging. we ‘do’ approx. 10 cups a day and keeps up fine.
Is it possible to replace the grinder over time?
i don’t thinks so… but do hope even more so!! i did not disassemble yet.

Mometeel zet ik koffie met een volautomatische machine van philips. Echter ben ik helemaal weg van dit design en hoe het werkt. Maar ik had een vraag: zou je kunnen zeggen dat deze betere koffie zet ivm druk en betere maler dan een volautomatische?
tja, betere koffie, dan moeten we een keer een blinde test met verschillende apparaten organiseren… het koffieresultaat voor een ‘eenvoudig’ apparaat is zeer bemoedigend
