Samsung refrigerator fan noise fix (step by step)
มุมมอง 970K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Samsung refrigerator been making grinding noise due ice buildup around copper pipe . While fixing it I decided to begin my first TH-cam video ever with this repair guide. Hope it helps. Timer (sort of long term solution): amzn.to/47MguS7 (Amazon) Use it for the refrigerator, set it to be in off mode for 30 - 45 minutes to allow ice build (at the cooling coil), to melt off. Personally did this f...
Thank you sir 🙏. Such a clear instructional video without all the needless babbling other than the baby which was adorable lol
Well done, simple, easy to understand. Thx!
i wonder if i keep a door open, for hours, mainly to defrost, will the entire refrigerator stop working ? or just the part that i kept door open stop working ? i want to move everything into other section while defrost just 1 section.
Excellent video. Thanks!
Great video. My wife and I just did the repair and it fixed our problem. Took about 25 minutes, most of the time to unload and load the fridge. No music, no blah, blah, blah. Terrific!
@Peacemaker Vic thank you for the excellent video. I followed your instructions and it fixed my fridge...for a month. The noise has come back. Do you have any theory as to why ice may have formed so quickly after i performed this procedure? I feel that i dried that space extensively, as you specified? Does it seem like something may need replacing? Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated. And thanks again for the initial helpful video!
The fix I've done is a pain, but, in the end it stops this happening until it starts up again.......turn it off on the circuit breaker for 24 hours letting it all air out (leaving it open). Then it's done until it starts doing it again (which is roughly every 6 months or so).
Wow! You’re awesome! Best video out there!! Thank you so much
Do you put sand to level your lawn?
Cheers. This helped me fix my fridge with the same noise from the fan. Only thing was it took a long time to dry out the foam on the panel and at the top of the copper pipes.
Great video... anyone know how long it typically takes? Just curious if items from freezer should be removed also
Thanks for posting! much appreciated
Fantastic video! Watched it 2 times and viola! Fix my fridge! Thank you for creating such an easy to follow video…ps loved the baby saying Da Da in back ground.
Perfect fix video, Others should learn from the subtle perfection of this video. I have a similar model fridge with a similar design of cooler and fan in the top center like this one and it had the exact same issue. The real thing that caused this problem ended up being the fridge had to many things stuffed into the 5 inch gap above the in cabinet installed fridge. this was preventing the fridge from "breathing" and functioning properly. Removing all the paper object and egg cartons stored there released a rush of heat and over time the fridge de-iced itself.
Very good explanation at the start but the video, not so good.
Love the artistry & explanation!
Need a better reel mower for Zoysia, too thick and your leaving interrupted cut marks.
Hi - Do you know what part exactly a technician recommends replacing? They are saying its the heating element. Charged me $375 in 2017 to fix it and broke again last night. Said $395 to replace this time and I am wondering if I really need to replace or just defrost. Either way if someone knows the part number for this element please share. Given its so common for Samsung refrigerator I want to better understand the issues if anyone knows
hi, i don't know what is not working right. so I tried the solution of using a 24 Hour Plug-in Mechanical Timer as mentioned in the description of the video, set it to be in off mode for 30 - 45 minutes to allow ice build (at the cooling coil), to melt of.. been over 4 years, no freeze up till now.. also remember to vacuum the dust built up at the vent on the side bottom of the refrigerator. also pull entire refrigerator out, remove the metal plate at the back bottom and clean the built up dust inside.
Hi - This video is awesome. I have paid $375 for a technician to come and replace some part in 2017 (i think fan or heating element). Broke again 7 yrs later and again the technician said he needs to order a part and fix it for $395! I am in California and things are expensive but this is nuts! Does anyone know what part this is? I am with Samsung for 2 hrs and have shown them your amazing video to highlight this is a design flaw. Any idea what part they plan to replace? I really dont want to replace anything if simple defrosting from time to time works but really looking for some expertise on what exactly are they suggesting the replace and fleece me?
Thank you so much!! Very helpful!! We’re not handy so these instructions were exactly what we needed
You are a life saver! Thank you! Cheers! :)
Thank you sir. Works great now
Graciassss!! Me ahorré mucho dinero con este video!!
Great video! Saved me the hassle ans cost of going through a repairman!
It's a great video, and as so many have said, one of the best. There's no talking, no self-promotion, just straight to the point. The only thing I would add is that if the panel is difficult to remove, ice may have frozen to the fan or the panel. Use the blow dryer until the panel loosens.
Hey guys, I had the same problem 8 years ago with my Samsung... did exactly what this video showed. melted the ice with a hairdryer. Lasted about 4 months and it did it again. I read somewhere that if you spray Pam cooking oil on the coils, they won't freeze up. I did it and have not had an issue since...
Thank you brother you save the day!
This was the best how to video I've ever used. Thank you so much for the simple to follow instructions. Your the best.
Thanks sooo much for this.😊 I'm glad you took the time to video this. You can also disconnect the two cables to remove the assembly for removing the ice .
Why not just defrost the whole thing..will fix the icemaker too..
Great video and Detailed INSTRUCTIONS!!!! Thanks for the sharing, and BTW does thins occur about once per year Ice Build-up.
Vic, great video and exactly what I needed, thank you very much for putting this together and sharing, I really appreciate it.
Just unplug the fridge.
Loved your video. Followed all the steps now let's hope it works. Thank you
Very very awesome video, I was able to do every step and fix my problem. Many thanks
I have a different model samsung, i have to defrost it every 3 months, under warranty they put in a new board, new fan cover/front panel. i have done several mods, im on the last mod which is the installation of a extra heater to defrost the back by the fan area. so if this fixes it then my fridge is going to make it 3 months before i hear the dreaded noise. look up a samsung invertec defrost booster kit
This is all WAY too much work. Simply unplug the frig for a few hours, and the ice will melt on its own.
Very good video..every single step is shown..thank you
Baby is guiding you to do the right thing. lol. Great vid. I am about to journey into my Samsung for the second time in three years. Three years ago I installed the 't shaped' piece of metal onto the heating coils to greater keep the drain holes cleared. I did it in the freezer and the refrige. But it has happened again. Great to see you doing it. Gets my muscle memory back. Thanks for the vid.
Amazing that so much great direction was given without a word being said! Very helpful. Addresses my unit’s problem perfectly. Thanks.
Samsung appliances are junks.
Good job. Like your drawing it gave me some basic lessons on lawn. Aloha and Mahalo.
I have made this type of repair but I use a small steam generator to defrost . It is safer and will not melt the plastic
Very good video. One thing that might fix this is if the two tubes at the top could be re-routed further to the right? - these are too close to the fan.
Thanks! Very straightforward and helpful!
Thank you sir!
Like everyone else, I thank you for a perfect how-to on this issue. However, I'm curios how often this needs done? I am considering just getting a different refrigerator.
Samsung's website says you can just unplug it for 24 hours and let it thaw. Would that achieve the same thing? I don't think I want to take the whole thing apart cuz I'm not very handy
This fridge is the most ridiculous, annoying thing. No one should have to do this with a 3 year old refrigerator. I'm pissed.
I have this happening in my garage fridge that holds mostly beverages. If I were to unplug and defrost, wouldn't this accomplish the same thing? I know most cannot leave their food and perishable items out of the fridge for 3-4 days, but I can put beer in a cooler and let the ice melt.
It’s much faster to remove ice by using rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle along with the hair dryer
