I Wanna Talk About...
United Kingdom
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 23 ก.ย. 2006
I wanna talk about... well, everything really.
Hey folks, just what the platform needs, another straight, bearded, white dude talking about stuff...
My channels have always been super niche, so I figured I'd do something broader, just make videos about my recent hyper-fixations, or traumas, or politics, or hobbies. I want to make videos about things I enjoy, about things that interest me without confining myself to just one thing or style.

I Wanna Talk About The Isle Of Man TT
The greatest 2 weeks of the year, the Isle Of Man TT fortnight is the biggest event on the road racing calendar.
Contested on the Isle Of Man, racers compete against the clock, themselves and the course to earn a chance of gaining glory.

I Wanna Talk About Trans People Given the amount of people using the trans community to further their political agenda at the moment I decided to do some surface level digging into trans history and, well, that turned into a multi day hyperfocus diving into history and culture going back over 4000 years so yeah, here's a video about what I found out! Well, here we go...again I wanna talk about this channel and the stuff I'm going to post here, no pressure, no schedule, just stuff that enters my brain
Brilliant piece of work, done so damn well. We need to see more of this normalisation. I'm also another one who found this from the TT vid.
Glad you liked it!
these guys out here living like you get respawns
They are really another breed
"Why do you do this, it's extremely dangerous!" "Yes."
"I'm still sad but now I'm fast"
@@iwannatalkabout... LMAO bingo
The most grand video about motor racing I have ever seen. I kindly suggest a video idea, the 24 hours of Le Mans, the holy grail of endurance racing. Amazing job, keep it up!💯
Wow, thank you!
awesome vid mate keep it up. watching from melb, aus
Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing video bud! Out of interest, what source did you find that mentions a top speed of 210MPH on Hicky's lap? As I can't find it anywhere.
There were talks on reddit about it taken from telemetry and fan speed capture devices during the 2023 TT fortnight the same race he clocked 202 on the selby speed trap, if I can find the posts I'll link them in another comment
Amazing video bro.
Glad you liked it!
There were no deaths this year.
Indeed, a few nasty crashes but finally got a year without any deaths, though I have a sneaking feeling that was due to a lot of the practice and race time being cut short due to the weather
@iwannatalkabout... Constantly damp roads probably didn't slow anyone down either. I mean shhh it was just better riding.
The riding was top notch as always but the average speeds were down on last year comparatively, those who were pushing record paces seemed to be plagued with mechanical failures and crashes. Since the switch to racing slicks, the IOM officials are being even more proactive in postponing or canceling racing for safety reasons which is both a blessing and a curse (yay for fewer accidents, boo for less racing). Personally though, I'm just glad we had no deaths and hopefully it's a trend we see repeating year on year as equipment continues to improve and risk mitigation becomes more dynamic
@iwannatalkabout... yeah, man, I agree. I was just kidding. There were a ton of reasons that there were fewer accidents. The team I really wanted to see (Ellis and Clement) ended of wrecking out. I'll be counting down to next year!
Sidecar is my favorite. That shit is crazy.
You would never get me on a sidecar, you have to be off your rocker to race them!
Rally drivers and TT riders are next level human beings
Couldn't agree more!
The IOM TT is arguably the hardest, most demanding "track" on the planet, it happens since 1907... in 1973 the TT was banned from the Moto GP due to the crashes, danger and the average 2 deaths per year. These days the joke is that the moto GP racers aspire to be IOM TT racers ...
My brother met Valentino Rossi once and was talking about how he rides on the roads, Rossi called him mad like his friend John and then introduced him to John McGuiness. If Rossi is intimidated by road riding you know it's an intense sport!
@@iwannatalkabout...I have heard that before, hence the joke.
incredible
It really is!
@@iwannatalkabout... I was talking about your content but yeah the race is also incredible.
Thank you so much, I'm really glad people are enjoying it!
my uncle is a crazy fanatic for bikes, doing the absolute most, and crashing several times while over high speeds, yet he admits he would never have the nuts to do anything like this
I've had 3 crashes on bikes over the years, 2 very minor 1 quite bad and while I still ride and would love to do a lap at my own pace, I can't imagine trying to keep up with the TT riders, they are next level
crashing while competing in the IOM-TT would be the best merchandise for die hard fans tho. Even tho it scares me, but if i'm in a situation where i no longer have nothing to lose, i would participate in it no matter what. It would be an honour to even touch the asphalt on the starting line while a guy in a high viz vest is counting down 10 seconds after a super scary but awesomly nerve wracking sounding bike started ahead of me. It would feel like i'm in a whole different world for about 10 seconds I suppose, but still... it would be the best
I'd argue that not crashing is the bigger marketing ploy as the majority of fans want to see people finish the race unscathed, 2024 is the first year since 1982 with no deaths occurring during practice or racing and I legitimately celebrated when the last person crossed the line as every event for my whole life has had at least 1 death so to finally watch a TT fortnight where everyone made it is huge
@@iwannatalkabout... Yes, it is a huge relief to watch all of the racer safe, but i'm just talking about probably what the racers feel when participating in the event. Like the man said, IOM-TT is the holy grail of motorcycle rider, and i think that would be something to risk all of it, it's not completely skill issues, anything unpredictable happens in the event, so it's do or die, the area between that is pretty thin. But for the experience, i think the rider would know better since they're the ones doing it. But i'm saying is, whatever happens, as a fan and a rider, even stepping on the road would be mind blowing
this channel is such a hidden gem, you deserve to get more recogniton.
Thank you so much!
I love motorcycles, especially big, heavy old inline 4s. The closest thing I'll get to the TT is playing GTA with speedhacks on a bike lmao. Phenomenal vid mate
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love this video very good amount of information and facts very well presented couldn’t stop watching, subscribed and can’t wait for you next video keep up the good work (:
Glad you enjoyed it!
They don't race, they play a mini game with angel of death called "will I die today"
"And what do we say to the god of death?"
Great video. You really showed your passion for the sport, editing and polish are great too just wait till the algorithm picks this up
Glad you enjoyed it!
More have died climbing Mt Everest than the TT race. Mt Everest is most dangerous. Isnt that something
True, however considerably more people try and climb everest than compete in the tt. There are just over 100 tt competitors across the classes each year at the the tt, where as about 1000 people attempt to climb everest each year. About 1% of everest climbers die each year where as the tt has a death rate between 2-5% on average
Aren’t all races technically scored by average top speed? Because the winner has to have had the fastest average time or else he wouldn’t have won. That’s like saying the winner of a basketball game is determined by the team that has the highest average points per quarter Genuinely asking
Not necessarily, most races are won and lost in the corners, if you corner poorly you end up travelling further so you can still average a higher speed but loose due to having to go further. On a short circuit this is really not a thing you'd see as you're talking in 1-2 meters per lap difference, but at the tt because each lap has 200+ corners it makes a much bigger difference
Imagine how all those Sheep be looking at dudes flying over the wall. O.o
They get to watch every year from their own home, I'm jealous!
Sweet video, was always curious about the history of the TT
Glad you liked it!
This is how you build a youtube channel fast, amazing content right off the bat!
Thank you!
I heard of the BMW g80 has a color called Isle of Man Green and never heard of it before. Then the very next day i find this and learn where the name came from, very interesting. Plus the fact BMW started with motorcycles before cars comes full circle
And IOM green is such a good colour too!
@@iwannatalkabout... That and Portimao Blue🤌🏾
I came here by accident and the video kept me on my toes! This video deserves so much more attention! Great work of Art!
Glad you liked it!
Great channel. Tt vid was epic! Knowing you aren't a bigot helps too.
Thank you!
this video is genuinely amazing
Thank you!
Up this channel!
Thank you!
Also got led here by your Isle of Man TT video and the segway had me worried but this was incredibly insightful and beautifully put. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I’ve the always sunny intro
It seems fitting for warning screens
Did not expect this to be such a new channel. Video quality is crazy good and the content is brilliant keep it up 👌
Thank you so much!
Cracking video mate 😁 You missed another thing that cancelled the TT - an outbreak of foot and mouth disease
Yeah, a few people have pointed that one out
Top Tier Content
Thank you!
the intro song made me feel like i was about to watch an anima about isle of man
That was the vibe I got from it too, imagine an initial D style anime but for road racing, it could be epic!
Very emotive stuff x
Thank you!
I came from the TT vid, being trans myself i was verrryyy skeptical and ready to be upset. but i enjoyed a good chuckle and have a lot of respect for people addressing the issues from outside of the lgbtqia+ community. Cheers for being awesome, and down with the tories!
Couldn't agree more!
I’m commenting because the algorithm isn’t showing this to enough people
Thank you!
I just think its amazing this thing exists no matter how dangerous it is. Because every rider there acknowledges the danger and accepts the fact they might not make it home after visiting the island. Truly badass one of a kind event
Absolutely, it's such a one of a kind event
one of the best video essays i have watched in a while, keep it up
Thank you!
The best video explaining about TT on youtube 🔥
Glad you think so!
One of the best vids ive seen in a while
Thank you so much!
amazing video
Thank you!
trying to understand how the lap record was taken by a supertock instead of a superbike. aren’t the superbikes way more performant than their underlings?
In years past yes, but the stocker bikes are so advanced now that the differences are really small. With the racers being allowed to run slick tyres too the speeds are only going to get higher. After Davey Todd's qualifying run on Monday I think its going to be an interesting year this year and it also looks like the weather is going to be a big player in the lap times
What a good video
Thank you
Damn good video! Looking forward to more racing content!!
Glad you liked it
I went to the TT in 2014 - from NZ so a bit of a trip - That was the year our Bruce Antsey set a new lap record of 132.04 - i got so drunk that night and didnt pay for any of it - an irishman being so pleased a kiwi did it and not 'some bloody englishman' - had an amazing time and after 40 or so years of imagining myself there - there I was.
So many people have great TT stories like this one, I really hope I make it over there next year
If people ask about AOM TT this is the video
Thank you!
i remembered about le mans since it's almost june, but now i'll forever remember the dates for tt thanks to your video. i can't imagine the thrill and joy of watching it live, since watching it from the screen is already amazing enough. hopefully i can go there and watch the race myself later.
Glad it helped!
Great upload mate.
Glad you enjoyed it
