I cant stop watching this with my favorite song! Its Awesome! Thank You for doing this!
Been looking for this for years... Couldn't find it after it aired ...
Who’s the driver at 2:20?
The best sports montage ever made . PERIOD . I saw this when it first came out, and to this day I still get tingles and tears when I watch it. Well done ESPN. So many great memories for me
Memory lane. Always use to VHS record the end of the year ESPN highlights/memories
siento cosas
I love this video, and I am not trying to start an argument. However, if you watched this video, you would think that women achieved very little in athletics in the past 100 years. Barely an image of the likes of Bille Jean King, Dorothy Hammel, Olga Korbut, Wilma Rudolph, Steffi Graf, Monica Seles, UConn and Tennessee women's basketball, and countless others. How can you not include Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert? The only female tennis player they show is a crying Jana Novotna.

Michael. Jeffrey. Jordan. 🏀🐐 Ali. 🥊🐐 Aaron. ⚾️🐐 Montana. 🏈🐐 (Sorry, Brady fans)
Still love this in 2023!
The pitches for the Angels that gave up that homerun ended up killing himself because he couldn't get over the fact he lost it for his team. So extremely sad.
Remember watching this in 1999!
Thank you for keeping this legendary clip I think ESPN has gotten away from this
Kanakuk Man Day Video
Still the greatest sports video/song ever!
Awesome montage, reminds me of when I was young
Remember when sports didn't have political shit all over?
That has never been the case. Especially not in the United States lol
One among my favourites!!! I know Steven Styler and Aerosmith by this song only. The video presentation made it more valuable and lively.
I am 43 years old and i remember a lot of these if you do not get chills when yo watch this you have no soul face full of tears every time I watch
I remember recording this on VHS
Why the Copyright strike. Oh the humanity
"greatest sports clips of all time into one amazing video" you mean greatest sports followed by americans!!???
LoneRangerA it’s ESPN, what did you think you were watching?
I wish the islanders were the team of the 80s in modern day!!!
the fact that in my lifetime i was able to witness a lot of these unforgettable sports moments makes this video more exciting to me and gives me chills every time i watch it just remembering them.
there's really not enough magic johnson in this. i do agree there is a bunch of ali (not saying that it's wrong tho).
So many of my favorite moments, as a sportsaholic my whole life, so much of my childhood is in this video it truely makes me emotional. I said this on 12/31/99 and Ill say it again on 10/1/13... the greatest sports video that will ever be made! Linda Cohn said it live that night and Ill repeat it again, Aerosmith never sounded so good.
i love this but way too much ali
I haven't watched this video since it originally aired on ESPN New Year's Eve 1999. I always wanted to see it again but figured I never would. Who would have known you could type in "ESPN Dream On" into a TH-cam search bar and have it pop right up. Bar none, this is the best 6:00 ESPN has ever aired, and they have aired a lot of historic stuff. Can't bea tit.
i get goosebumps everytime i see this...
I never get tired of seeing that boston college hail mary
narutoqweavatar I couldn’t agree more! I’m sitting at my desk in Dallas, Texas. I’m watching this and my favorite part is flutie heaving that ball and hearing the commentator say, “He’s got Phelan down there,” and then, “TOUCHDOWN, TOUCHDOWN...”
This video to me represents the high point in ESPN's history. Their "SportsCentury" specials really were the best work that they ever did. This video actually shows hockey. It shows the class that ESPN had back then, going way back to the early days to show some of the all time greats mixed in with the best of the present. ESPN now refuses to show any hockey and just focuses on the big stars like Lebron James. I hate ESPN!!
One of my favorite montages of all time. ESPN nailed it. I remember when i first saw it almost 14 years ago, I got goosebumps. Wish they do an updated version of that. Same song of course.
when was 4:29?
there was like 5 University of michigan appearences?
I remember when I first saw this. I was walking by the TV and it came on. I literally froze in mid step, slowly turned, and sat down on the floor and watched. I was completely memorized. I didn't even know this was sung by Aerosmith at the time. It quickly became one of my favorite songs.
a few years after this originally aired and was trying to find out who sang this and was shocked to learn aerosmith. to this day my favorite song of all time...
Yes Sir!
I remember watching this for the first time in 1999 and having goosebumps then. Greatest sports compilation video of all time.
Who can doubt the fact that Gretzky is literally "The Great One", when his spot in the video is 'coincidentally' 3:16. More proof that he's the second (and improved) coming.
Hockey player at 3:16 was a young Wayne Gretzky...love this video! I do believe in miracles and, Mr. Buck, I don't believe what I just saw!
Its amazing the effect sports has on our culture...at least in the circles i run with. This vid left me speechless in 1999, and it still does today. Just incredible editing. I hope this won an emmy. Thanks for posting this.
Goosebumps, every time I watch this
This is still a great video, but it's not the same seeing Lance Armstrong, Joe Paterno, Mark McGwire and Tiger Woods now as it was in 1999.
December 31 1999 was the first time i saw this video. Every time i watch it again its like the first time.
Best video EVER!!
actually there is a shot of pele being carried on the shoulders of his teammates off the pitch while playing for NY Cosmos.
@ 1:37 cue the music
@ 1:23 DA BEARS
this is in 1999
Jimmy Valvano...He coached NC State to an improbable national championship over Houston in 1983. He later died of cancer, which is why he's in that part of the video.
