This episode disturbed me so much my first watch that I took a very long break from watching the rest of the series. Am glad I finished watching it eventually, though. Helena's potential to be a brutal killer keeps the right amount of tension for the whole show. There's so much more to her than that, though. Can't wait to know your opinion of her by series end. ~FM :)

You sound a little confused. That’s a good thing with this show it prepares you for each batch of clones arriving.

Sad fact about this episode. When Babette (the yordle lady from "fun house") sees Jinx in the prison, she silently acknowledges her but does not speak. Her character is not given any lines because her VA has passed away before this episode.

Remember that "we need more weight to get it right" moment? One of the things that ended up getting saved was the "square peg in a round hole" filter kludge the astronauts assembled; as would be expected, it looked exactly like what had been prototyped on the ground.

Yeah, the flashback never really sat right with me, Vander and Silco knowing Vi and Powder's parents(mom) personally. It recontextualizes events in Act 1, season 1 that just doesn't gel because when I go back and re-watch the prologue, I still get the sense that Vander may have been broadly aware of Vi and Powder and their parents but not on any communal level. Vander wasn't prepared for the price of his uprising and in that moment, shifted his priority on getting these two lost, orphaned children to safety. The fact that he takes in Mylo and Claggor as well would suggest that Vander is trying to make amends and honor the casualties left in his wake and do all he can to keep the peace. By the end of Act 3, all we know about Vander and all we needed to know is that he was a man who loved his children and sacrificed everything he was to protect them. Silco, on the other hand, also did not give any indication that he knew Vi and Powder beyond that of Vander's adopted kids and regardless of the hardened and ruthless man he'd become at Vander's hands, I do not buy that he would actively try to kill Vi and Powder knowing they were Felicia's kids, and not just some street rats Vander took in.

I'm sure the slogan on your shirt has a particular meaning in some specific context, but even out of context, it's delightfully surreal. Anyway, I just wanted to say I appreciated the post-edit insert, because I think it shows you really want to "get it right" for your viewers. At this point in the story anyone can be excused for not wanting to go too far out on any conjectured limb.

I think you would like "Gravity".

At the end of the movie when Tom Hanks shakes the uniformed officers' hands is the real Jim Lovell. You might like the movie The Right Stuff that won several academy awards about Chuck Yeager breaking the sound barrier and the NASA mercury missions. Also, Tome Hanks produced an HBO miniseries called From The Earth to the Moon that goes further in depth of the space program.

You also have to know if this is a Stephen King novel. This movie surprised me too when I seen it but the one that really hit me was The Green Mile of which I would recommend? Enjoy hearing your viewpoint

They introduced a few big inaccuracies in this movie for more dramatic storytelling. Lovell didn't actually choose to put Swigert on the team over Mattingly; the flight surgeon and NASA management made that choice. Also, Swigert was actually *more* qualified than Mattingly as command module pilot (although, seriously, both were incredibly qualified). Also, there weren't any arguments or tension among the astronauts on the mission (or back in mission control). They were all consummate professionals, even under that pressure. Other than those , however, the movie is really quite accurate.

If these 2 movies are not on your list, I would recommend adding both: "October Sky" (An anagram for "Rocket Boys" the book it is made from.) & "Hidden Figures". Thanks.

I met Jack Swigert when he was campaigning for congress. He was going door-to-door and I was the only one home when he came to our house. He seemed surprised that I remembered the mission in such detail - I was 11 at the time. Such a shame he passed away before taking office. I also met Gene Krantz (mission director played by Ed Harris) in the grocery store about 15 years ago. He was so delighted that I recognized him and knew who he was!

A hard watch that is.

3:40 The guy playing the senator who says "if there is an Apollo 14" is legendary B movie director Roger Corman. He has small cameo roles in several movies including Apollo 13, The Godfather Part 2, The Silenece of the Lambs, and Philadelphia because he helped to launch the careers of some very prominent directors (like Ron Howard, Francis Ford Coppala, Jonathan Demme, and James Cameron), and they wanted to return the favor.

THIS was almost the end of the series! Netflix cancelled it because it was their most expensive show, but fan outcry was enough to convince them to do the final movie.

Nomi and Amanita dual proposals always brings me to happy tears! Very happy the rest of the cluster gets to meet in person now, too! I know there's a lot of stress in this episode and I feel like we had to wait a long time after this episode to get the next one, so it's good you got to this later than when it aired because me and others were livid they ended it here, initially. I won't say the next episode answers all the questions/resolves all the things but it has very satisfying aspects. The creators had five seasons written in total and Netflix cancelled it, so the next episode contains highlights/most crucial bits the creators wanted us to know. I'm grateful for that much. Bitter toward Netflix we won't get the other three fully fleshed out seasons, though. Anyway great reaction and I share your conflict over Sun not ending her brother but at the same time like her friend advised - she was right not to lose herself over that piece of trash. Looking forward to/dreading the next because I also don't want it to end, lol. ~FM :)

when you said "we have this episode and ep 12 and that's it" -- HOW did we get here this fast, i don't want this to be over, these videos have been such simple joy for me over the last few months :( THAT is where the episode ends?? I totally forgot, there's still so much that needs to happen! the last episode is truly crazy for wrapping up all of these loose ends. (which it does, beautifully.)

Growing up during that time was fascinating, were all learned to count backwards. We bought space food food sticks, we played with Apollo spacecraft toys. With all the racial strife, the Vietnam War raging, and being from Texas, we had fun back then. Check out the Movie The Right Stuff. it's about Project Mercury.

A great movie about a true event. All the actors did a really good job. Ande is such a cool and fun reactor.

The actual voice recordings of the astronauts are available on NASA website. Their voices are a LOT less emotional. More clinical.

If you want to learn more about the moon missions, i recommend the documentary series with Ken Howard and Tom Hanks From Earth to the Moon.

May I suggest you look up the BBC coverage of the real Apollo 13. It's on TH-cam, and it's interesting to see the correspondents, on camera, just as tense as everyone else waiting for the communications blackout to end after reentry.

They over dramatized the Jack Swigert story. He was fully up to speed and was the NASA expert on the Apollo Command Module.

You're crying. You're such a Sweetie, you have total empathy...that's a real fine quality to have. favorite line in the movie for me: "Failure is not an option." I think you should start watching older classic movies, you strike me as the type well suited, you're smart: Casablanca, Singin in the Rain, High Noon, the African Queen, many many more including the British movies Bridge on the River Kwai, A Hard Days Night, many of those. Old Comedies Bringing Up Baby, Some Like It Hot, What's Up Doc, Paper Moon, Support Your Local Sheriff, Murder By Death, The Cheap Detective, Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles....

Lived this history at age 14 in 1970. The whole damn world was watching and praying. The Russians even offered help! this movie is very special to me...the last one I saw with my dad before he passed away a few years later.

The girl had two major things going on. Apollo 13 took off on April 11th, 1970. The oxygen tank blew up on April 13th and it was on April 10th, the day before the launch of Apollo 13 that Paul McCartney announced that he was no longer working with the Beatles. That's a lot for the girl to deal with at the same time.

And then they hit a flock of snow geese and land on the Hudson.

Such a great and moving film. Everyone does a fantastic job acting in it. Btw, if you haven't seen it yet, I'd highly recommend "Forrest Gump".

I remember watching this in real time, amazing what they accomplished seeings we didnt even have calculators back then. Also, it took them 6 minutes, not 4 minutes to appear. Thank you for your reaction. 😊
