I've been trying to do a video like this one for some time now.

Hey everyone! Back with a new fun project. This 1998 Corvette C5, is truly a unique color, I really wish they still offered them in colors like this. My C8 woulda looked great in this shade. Anyways, we did some upgrades, some cleaning, and sold the car! What a fun way to really enjoy the car and really appreciate the color.

i know im 2 years late but thats the wrong oil for the Zr1. It probably runs fine with that oil but just wanted to let you know bro. Nice ride.
5.3 seconds to 60 in a car that should be doing it in ~4. Something was pretty wrong here.

The c6 head and valve problem are only to base and z06 the Zr1 doesnt have that problem?
It’s actually only on the C6 Z06, and supposedly the C6 ZR1. It’s caused by GM’s Lightweight 2 Piece Valves, which tend to break right in the middle. I’ve seen it happen to Z06, but never really on a ZR1. However, always recommend doing it as preventative maintenance ☺️
it’s only on the C6 Z06 of all model years from 06-13. All LS7 engines. It’s a cheap fix though, about ~$2000.

Sounds great when running it. Building one of my own. Happen to know which turbo models are used here? Cam grind spec? It does sound like a Stage 1 or something small but not oem. How's it running? You'd have to pry my out of the driver seat if I had one already set up and running like that!
I have a C3 (1972) and a C5 (2003). Each are fun in their own way. My C5 is my weekly driver. Best feature in both are "no car payments" and I can do the work on both of them. No way I would own a C8. Beautiful car, but purchase price, cost of ownership, and virtually impossible to work on yourself simply are deal killers for me.
Great video Hazar! Only gripe I have is the average price is off on some of the vehicles. But the market is always changing and will be cool to look back on.

Great video! I bought a C6 and have dumped so much money in repairs that I just upgraded everything from the harmonic balancer to the cams to the clutch and fly wheel. It has come to the point I don’t enjoy the car because it always has something wrong with it and only has 81k miles which is nothing in a LS engine. My childhood dream has become a nightmare 😢
Oh no I'm sorry to hear. Being in the business, I always recommend having a vehicle throughly inspected by a local shop. Especially the older they get or higher in miles. Knock on wood, I haven't really had a lemon corvette yet.

C6 ZR1 is the best imo, the analog feel of the NON ediff and the rawness of the corvette was peak. C7 is great, but its like an M4 to me. VERY refined, very nice, ediff and computers and nannies etc etc. That being said, C8 is just in a different category as you said. Not comparable imo. C5 BROZZZZ!!!
I think the C6 is probably the most fun to drive. However, I know which one I'm taking on the lap around America ;-)

Terrific job with this informative video my friend, and I do agree with you that the C7 ZR1 is 'the one'. I sold one over a year ago and literally could not believe how much I loved that car. GM really allowed their engineers to flex on that one, and it showed. I'm just not into the C8s at this point as I'd rather have a foreign mid-engined car when talking about that car, but the value of the base C8 Z06 is off the chart as you mentioned. Best wishes!

So the C7Z06 is faster than the C8Z06 on a roll. Makes sense with similar power ratio and more TQ on the C7Z

My 15 Viper was low 7s and 6.9 with the arrow tune
Best I ever did with my ARH catless Arrow 2014 GTS was 7.3, and I am pretty decent at power shifting (on my channel). Z06 is still kinda disappointing considering the claimer power and DCT. Viper had huge drivetrain losses too, but still can hang.
The Viper engine is significantly larger with a completely different torque band. It's quick because of the initial torque hit and band. Launch them on the street, from a stop, and you will see why Mid-engine is a killer.

Only Seen 1/One ZR-1 on the Streets in Jacksonville Fla but i'm there Tampa, Atlanta & Vegas often. Just don't See them.

Congrats man! I just got my allocation last friday. Went with ceramic matrix gray as well but with the black wheels. similar spec to yours but not fully loaded. Question though. Is the mirror to mirror length on the C8 z06 the same as your C7 ZR1? It seems that no one can really answer this. Not even on the forums.
