Such a great documentary! I’m so glad you came up on my feed !! Can’t wait for more 😊
@@KezziaCrossley Thanks a lot!
You do wonderful work, thank you!!
Good stuff, LHP! I’ve never heard of a Brownie before. Maybe I need to leave some treats out to get my dishes washed.
@@elip4854 Thanks for watching! Wouldn't it be amazing if it actually worked - leave out a saucer of milk and the house cleans itself!
Very nice and emotional video
Thanks!
I never knew about the Elk, excellent documentary
You should look at researchers like Jacques Vallee,John Keel and Joshua Cutchin ..there's a connection between the fay and the later UFO/Alien abduction phenomenon. Good to see you back,I loved your old churches blogs...any chance you could repost, and do more?
Thanks a lot, I'll definitely take a look. This connection between Fae and UFO phenomena is fascinating. I will definitely be doing more content where I visit old churches, sometimes as part of a wider topic but also probably sometimes about the churches themselves, as so many are full of rich history and folklore. Thanks for watching!
This is really good!
Thanks!
I’m in touch with James Holmes descendants who live in Canada now. Lovely people and very knowledgeable about the events Thirsk.
Wow that's amazing! I found out about these events completely by chance, when finding Lotties grave, but have never forgotten it since (and I'm from Thirsk!). It's a very interesting part of railway history. Thanks for watching!
@ I live halfway to Easingwold. We should do a video together sometime.
Beautifully presented. Thank you so much. I hope you get more viewers.
Thanks a lot!
This is really great.
One day i will reclaim my chair
Enjoyed this film, a fascinating insight of the history of our great British fairgrounds and the showmen that provide them.
And the King shall say to them on his right hand come you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you before the foundation of the world... Gospel of Matthew 25: 34 Then he shall say to them on the left hand, depart from me you cursed into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels Matthew 25: 41... here is the end of the path of the right and left.... there is no light in the void
Great Work... Holy Guardian Angel brought me here 🙏⚡💙
Fantastic documentary that clarifies the true meaning of the Baphomet!
Great stuff as always; thanks for posting! By the way, do you have any favorite sources for your research? Update: After sitting and letting the video sink in, I have to say this really is a great explanation and very much falls in line with my beliefs - I had no knowledge of the history of this imagery beforehand, so it feels like another fun little synchronicity to carry with me! I found your channel after looking for folklore about the Fae, with whom I find myself resonating deeply, and the content I've seen since stumbling across your documentary has yet to disappoint! Keep up the wonderful work!
Thanks a lot! I've always loved anything to do with the Fae, it's one of my favourite topics to delve into and ponder upon. Rural folklore seems to have always fascinated me from as long as I can remember, and there is a strong and deeply rooted belief in, and respect of, the Faery folk with these country and rural histories. I don't have many 'go-to' sources for research apart from the classic books (like Crowley's Equinox etc). A few more recent authors I have found great interest in are Philip Gardiner (especially 'The Shining Ones') and Sir George Trevelyan, who was one of the big names in nature based spirituality back in the 70s.
@@LHPDocumentaries Of course! I'm a sucker for a well-written documentary or video essay, and your editing and narration are excellent - not to mention that the subject matter is of great interest to me already! Also, thanks for sharing! I'll be sure to look into their works as well ^^
Good documentay, I am looking forward to a nice glass of cider now Cheers
Okay, I'm hooked - subscribed!
@@LiteralGray Thanks a lot!
I very much enjoyed this - thanks for sharing!
Thanks for this documentary Mark I thought it was one of (if not the best) doc I have seen about Blackpool. You didn't let the film lapse into sentimentality which so often happens when documentarians make films about the town, preferring to obsess about the golden days of full B&Bs and big stars appearing at the theatres, whilst forgetting that behind the Golden Mile are miles of derelict shops and boarded up hotels. Let's hope that the regeneration regenerates the town, the people who live and work there and not just the bank balances of the rich companies.
Thanks a lot! I do love Blackpool and wanted to show a bit of everything on this video, most certainly with the hope that these new projects benefit everybody in Blackpool. I think it's still early days but there is a lot going on, many old things being torn down (like Hartes), and lots of visions for a future that I hope takes shape for all who love, and live, in Blackpool!
Bond Street in particular
In Finland we burn large goats made from willow in the end of October beginning of November, during the Kekri festival, it all goes back to agriculture and fertility rituals. I hope your channel takes off. I love all the well researched folklore documentaries.
Thank you!
Compete and utter Toilet now, such a shame!
Good stuff.
What an excellent documentary! These memories of how we used to live should never be forgotten, its part of who we are today.
Loved it. ❤
Bit wary at beginning of video I must say😂but honestly great video ty
Thank you so much, Left Hand Path Documentaries, for re-uploading "LOST MARY | Documentary." I’m truly grateful to see this insightful film back on your channel. Your dedication to uncovering the layers of folklore, especially stories like that of Mary Powell and her intriguing connection to the faery world, is absolutely captivating. The breathtaking visuals from the borderlands of Wales and Herefordshire only enhance the rich narrative you present. Your folklore videos, particularly those focusing on fairies, resonate deeply with me-a beautiful blend of history and mystery that brings these tales to life. Keep up the fantastic work; your passion for storytelling is evident and greatly appreciated!
Absolutely captivating documentary! Your exploration of the Enchanted Forest and its rich folklore truly brings the magic to life. I appreciate how you delve into the history and significance of ancient trees and old forests, connecting them to the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and other great storytellers. Your passion for these themes shines through, and it's inspiring to see how you highlight the intricate relationship between nature and mythology. Thank you for sharing this beautiful journey; it has deepened my appreciation for the enchanting worlds that inspire so many. Looking forward to more of your incredible work!
Thank you so much, Left Hand Path Documentaries, for this captivating exploration of Britain's hedgerows! Your ability to weave together history, folklore, and myth is truly commendable. I appreciate how you brought to light the cultural significance and rich stories surrounding these beautiful landscapes. The connections to fairies, witches, and hedgehog myths added an enchanting layer that reminded me of the magic embedded in nature. This documentary not only educates but also inspires a deeper appreciation for our environment and its heritage. Keep up the amazing work!
fascinating that really enjoyed it thanks.
I used to love Blackpool many years ago, it was a magical place. Have fond memories of the tower, old trams, Golden mile amusement arcades, fish and chips, candy floss, slot machines, donkey rides, open air baths and enjoying old school Pleasure Beach rides and the Fun House in my stockingfeet. Not like it used to be.
It's sad when places change so much beyond our memories of them. I've known so many different faces and sides to Blackpool over the years, it's never quite the same.
Not returned since 2018 - When I had a very detailed walk around back then I knew Id not be coming back anytime soon. The Town just looks so rundown and neglected now, all the piers are also a state, back streets are truly shocking now, even the Pleasure Beach looks really poor now, so many ride attractions either gone, or not working, the park looks very very sad with the gate numbers waaaay down, I doubt it will last another 5 years. Such a shame but another pointer on how GB is going.
this is a facinating history of a place i spent almost all my childhood holidays , im now of pension age and take my grand kids
I was in Inverness when this happened--my first time in the UK. I'll never forget it. Terrible.
Great documentary. Thank you 🙏🏻
Thanks!
Well told ..thank you.. for me the platform rides still hold the magic.. especially in the 70s . They should be cherished.. But I can’t hack the A. I voice, really wouldn’t make me scream 😂..for me the real voice of a gaffer and the swagger of the gaff lads defying gravity held as much thrill.❤
I used to live in Blackpool in the 70s and have fond and sweet memories..
Well made
I'll keep this video in mind when I see Morrissey in Newark this November.
The 1973 movie is a classic... 🔥 JG Fraser's "The Golden Bough" also throws light on these rituals
A Liminal Zone beloved by Lovecraft... Great Atmospherics btw. What happened your Left Hand Path channel with the Magical Thoth Major Arcana series ?
I was having a lot of copyright claims and other such annoyances with the videos, and also it ended up all bit of a mixed bag content wise, so it was removed for the time being. Sadly despite having over 7000 subscribers, it was not uncommon for the videos to get less than 100 views and no audience engagement, which along with the copyright nuisances etc just didn't seem worth it. I might put up a channel one day purely for tarot card interpretations, as I think keeping the themes all separate seems to work the best for audience engagement. Thanks for watching!
@@LHPDocumentaries FYI, I found this channel “Lugal” which has many of your excellent Thoth videos amongst the content ??? eg. The Sun 🌞 th-cam.com/video/o756QRdla6U/w-d-xo.htmlsi=w4ZluVELdVpRWGII
@@LHPDocumentaries Have a look in the “Lugal” YT Channel. I think you’ll find some (not all) of your Thoth videos… ? I guess he downloaded & re uploaded them…
I loved this! Every summer until I was in my 20’s we spent a week in Salisbury Massachusetts, it’s a beach side blue color resort town that has just enough sleeze to be fun!, and a sort of darkness. In the 80’s we saw so many hair bands there, everyone from Van Halen and a very young Guns N Roses to Journey and Deep Purple! So much fun!!
@@karincleary2739 Wow tahat sounds amazing! I'd love to seen bands like that play live! I think Blackpool also embodies that "just enough sleeze to be fun" feeling, and it has a very strange and eerie side to it in quiet times, plus lots of history and hidden places, which is one of the many reasons I love it. Thanks for watching!
I grew up near Salisbury. No matter what time of year, you had to make a choice, Cristy's Pizza or Tripoli.
Ive lived in Blackpool all my life and when i was 10yrs old i used to walk with my Dad along the old disused train tracks from Blackpool south to Preston. So much to see fields everywhere. Now its the Dual Carriageway where everyone drives so fast you hardly get the chance to admire the landscape that once was. I still love little Marton where i live a place without the noise of nearby town.
Thanks for watching! I do love the Marton area around Blackpool, in fact I was round there only a few weeks ago looking at property for sale. It's a nice area!
Very moving LHP. Great work.
@@elip4854 Thanks for watching! It's amazing what stories you can find in old cemeteries where so many walk by unaware.
very well put together. although i now live abroad. blackpool always was special to me.thank you.
a masterpiece what professional documentary
