Guided Reading Lesson 2nd grade
This video shows a guided reading lesson with 2nd grade students. This lesson would ideally be broken into 2 days, with a follow-up lesson where student will re-read the text and answer a writing prompt. The students were reading a DRA Level 12.

Thank you for sharing. I saw a lot of good techniques like starting with a lead-in, reading for gist, reading for detail...it's just amazing. I wonder only about the questions asked in the end. What is the intention behind such specific questions? "Where did it go?" "What did it do?" I've heard we want to avoid questions which are more about checking memory rather than understanding.

Yes normally only children who are behind get pulled for smaller lessons, or then get pulled in a group so the teacher can test them. I’ve never seen a teacher do this with every kid
I have never heard of whisper phones and now want to try them in my classroom now
