The Best Martial Arts Tier List
มุมมอง 14K5 ปีที่แล้ว
I rank a mix of both traditional and modern martial arts to determine which one is the best. I rank based of of Self-Defense potential as well as the ability to compete, and if practice of the Sport has positive or negative effects on your body. Podcast anchor.fm/arewegood
Judo is water down but not from bjj. Bjj is ground %80 and %20 stand up. Judo is % %80 stand and 20% ground. Judo is water down due banning leg grabs. Judo is top tier for self defense. In cold climate wearing a jacket the other person is heavily in disadvantage.
Boxing in C is unbelievable
Aikido doesn't teach to make people call with your mind it teaches.good techniques
S tier: combat sambo That’s very effective
I take it that you have never watched an actual tai chi competition, it’s something like a mix of Greco-roman and Sumo.
Karate is very useful is a street fight real karate teaches take downs to
Sounds to me his experience of karate was attained in a McDojo.
Garbage list. Figures a blue belt would make this list.
I do taekwondo, it’s been very useful.
"as a normal person would say" I guess "white" is normal, huh
Boxing is low b tier
I don't agree with the position of taekwondo, because you are referring to the WTF as everyone does, but the original taekwondo, the ITF focuses on 60% kicks 30% punches and 10% grabs
Please, when buying taekwondo with another martial art, compare the ITF
#1 should be BJJ, followed by American Boxing
I would say that Kali/Eksrima/Arnis is in S-Tier. It's one of the few martial arts actually combat-oriented and proven effective in real warfare for hundreds of years.
Re: Judo... You must be refering to Sport Judo which is a small portion of the art of Judo. There's much more to Judo than the sport portion. The Mr Gracie who started BJJ/Gracie Jiu-Jitsu was taught by a practitioner of Judo. If you knew about the whole art of Judo (with its striking, kicking, sweeping, throwing, matwork, joint-locking, smothering, choking, strangling - in addition to defenses against weapons & common attacks), then I believe that you would likely place it in the 'A' or 'S' catagory on your chart.
I could only watch this half way, to do these kinds of lists u gotta have more history than this guy does
"Karate is a waste of time." *Laughs in Shorinji Kempo*
I wish you talked more about what self defense is and isnt, even mma lacks conversations about awareness and conflict de escalation, check out school of self defenses video, he goes into a lot more detail on his ranking
Nice list
Years ago Judo and jiu jitsu were typically taught at the same dojo. I guess it changed when Judo became an Olympic sport but for me it was taught together. Consequently this martial art was quite formidable. I agree with your S being MMA except MMA is not a style it is a rule set, to be successful requires proficiency in two or more disciplines. I would put Combat Sambo in the A category since it is MMA with head gear along with your A. Most Combat Sambo practitioners start with a belt in Judo /Jiu Jitsu, like Khabib and Fedor.. My B would be Boxing and Wrestling, if you have both disciplines you will win 90% of your street fights due to basic toughness.
Half way through the video I realized that this list is being made by someone who doesn't know what they are talking about and uses titles that are misleading to attract more viewers and more money
It took you that long?!
"no real self defense" "if a Judo guy threw you on concrete they could literally kill you" your speech betrays your bias
I would say boxing and judo should be switched only because lack of evidence that judo is more effective than boxing on the street or in the cage. And the MMA in S tier is debatable but I get your point of why its up there.
How could you put boxing with kong fu at the same tier ?😐😐😐
To be u just need a martial art that fits u one of my friends felt ashame because he was doing karate and most of the tier lists people said karate was a bad martial art it’s ilke Bruce lee said it doesn’t matter what martial art u use unless it’s aikido
Seriously u missed Ameridote ?
Lmao love how Aikido is ranked!
Did u really just said that Boxing is under Judo? I don't think u ve ever watched a boxing or a judo match
Karate does teach you grapling well at least in my dojo they taugth you how to figth with people who know judo n jiu-jitsu
Taekwondo D and it doesn't ONLY focus on kicks if me and you got 1 on 1 you would be down in 10 secs
Judo a watered down version of BJJ?? LOOOOOOOL
S: MMA A: BJJ, Muy Thai Boxing, B: Pankration, Judo, Wrestling (note: all throwing styles), and Kickboxing C: Kyokushin Karate, Boxing, Krav Maga, Kung Fu D: Tai Chi, Karate, TaeKwonDo, Aikido: Aikido :/
"Tai Chi is basically a martial art for old people." That's racist against the entire Water Tribe, you bastard.
This guy don’t know things about boxing.
I know!!! When this guy is calling kickboxing boxing with kicks and putting boxing in the same tier as Kung fu I’m just like 🤦♂️ this guy is clueless.
hey akido is amazing one time i used it in my muay thai fight and it was so powerful i woke up later on the mat
Karate is S
today i got into a fight (defending myself) all i had to do was make it look like i lost (BJJ) i put someone into a firefly lock and just slammed their head into the ground and waited so they thought i lost (i was on the ground)
Boxing is incredible, best headmovement in martial arts, and best punching technique
YES he overrated judo so much
I disagree with karate in D tier mainly because it has been used effectively and mma fighters such as Oliver Enkamp have gained a lot from it. The biggest problems with it are that there are boat loads of styles that focus on completely different thing and that there's no grappling but I wouldn't give it D tier. I would put it on the same tier as judo (which I love practising).
boxing is a s teir
Fuck me. Garbage take.
Your limited as hell in your knowledge if you do a tier list atleast have some real unbiased accesment you sound like a noob accept for when you explain your own martial arts
Thank you!
@@johnathangomez1712 he had no bussiness making this list
So biased nonsence the two martial arts you do you give them an a
A good self defense system needs to include, •Defending against multiple attackers •Defending against weapons •If it's legal in your country, learning to use weapons •Both the pre and post fight •Scenario training •What are the laws and reasonable force in your country •How to avoid a fight, and being aware of your surroundings •Pressure testing •Training in different environments
bitCH WHERE THE FUCK IS MUAY THAI
A kick-boxer would loose most of the time to a boxer if they got to close.
WWE/Pro-Wrestling is S tier, have grappling, striking, chair bashing, table breaking, trash talking, acrobatics, one on one, team fighting, street fighting, Cage fight, etc...if you do pro-wrestling, you have fought in any posible way, not even MMA beats it. :)
Lol then what happened to CM punk
Wrestling is good pro wrestling is fucking ass
@@GuappaChoppa and what happend with Brock Lesnar, Batista, Jack Hager, Dan Severn, Bobby Lashley, Kazushi Sakuraba, etc. :) lol!
ED HEr the only good people from that list are Brock lesnar and sakuraba, Brock lesnar was on steroids and anytime he’d get punched he would shut down, and sakuraba used his wrestling to win. Again wrestling is good pro wrestling is ass
@@GuappaChoppa Well, actually Brock isnt the only one on roids in UFC, so if doing roids makes them no-good, then Bone Jones Sucks even more lol..the others may not look good by your tastes but won their fights, right? Sakuraba was more a pro-wrestler at the point he started MMA, he even enter to fight Royce Gracie with a freaking Mask, you can't get more pro-wrestling than that. Only if they let them use their tools to the maximum pull a table, or do high flying moves or bring a barbed wire 2x4 to the octagon pro wrestling would be invinclible :D lol btw, "the people's elbow" is banned in MMA bc is too dangerous.
Taekwondo in d? I’m a black belt and not from one of those “you buy the belt” schools and was taught hand strikes and just about as much as kicking. Idk tho Mabey I’m just salty
I think he’s talking about average taekwondo in general. Most strikes from taekwondo focus on getting points in the match instead of knocking people out. But I mean if you’re excellent in one specific martial arts, that’s another story. In fact, there’s no best martial arts but only the best martial artists.
yes
@@chunkaisheu6275 its not supposed to knock people out tf
@@chunkaisheu6275 i do agree though just the best martial artists
I think he's talking about WTF Taekwondo it is more focused on the sport and legs than the other styles. And I also agree that Taekwondo should not be a D tier because I don't think this dude knows what he's talking about he probably got it just from another tier list or from just one website. My grandmaster teaches a style based on real fighting situations, meaning that we balance the amount of kicks and punches we do during training, representing Hwarang warriors.
Your martial arts Tier list makes me so Mad no Muay Thai!
Don't underestimate judo fella, BJJ is just ground judo, good, effective but just that
MMA isn't a Martial art. It's literally multiple martial arts so of course it'd be the best.
It literally stands for mixed-martial-arts.
