If you look at the lyrics, they are VERY similar to the ones of Nkosi sikelele iAfrika. Also, the NP won the elections in 1948 and apartheid was instated in 1961 so this was actually recorded before apartheid and two years before the adoption of the oranje-blanje-blou as national flag. And till some years ago the whole lyrics were on the ANC website so I do not think it is considered racist. Specially given it is part of the actual anthem.
