Awesome my friend 🎉

What an unforgettable season that was. It was so fun to follow along everyday. Shame how things turned out afterwards but it will always be one of the best summers of baseball. I love the autographs you have that are relevant to it, Jason. *61 is one of my favorite baseball movies!

I have mixed feelings about the steroid era. I actually think it was more ball than the steroids. It just seems like players not connected were hitting a lot those years

That was a great summer! I went t to a few games and watched many games at Duffy’s Tavern while I was at Knox College. At school, I tell the kids, “I’m always watching, always watching Wizowski “ 😂

Nice job recapping the HR chase in 1998. Interesting comment about Bud Selig. He was also the commissioner that ended the All-Star game in a tie. Not a favorite moment for most fans. For me, the chase to break Maris' record comes at a dark time. The A's had traded McGuire for a can of beans so it was hard for me to watch him. Also, I think many fans knew there was something going on with steroids with that chase. Every time McGuire approached the Maris family, I would flinch. Looking back, now it certainly seems disrespectful. The steroid users hurt the game. Baseball is about the numbers and it is how we determine if someone had a good career or not. Steroids allow you to get on the field and stay on the field despite the injuries that occur. You can't get the numbers if you aren't on the field. Sincerely - Debbie Downer :o)

Gave a video like. Really fun seeing the mail and autographs surrounding that HR. Lots of great cards, the HR chase back then was pretty special. Still have the newspaper clippings my grandmother saved me during that time. Great VR for Rob!

Outstanding VR! I will never forget that season and that chase. I completely agree about Selig. He had to know and didn’t care because a lot of us had given up on baseball after the strike and this brought us back. He used them then abused them. Awesome stuff my friend

Great cards to show while discussing a great summer/fall. I remember my college professor cutting a night class short because he wanted to go home and watch one of the games. I was of course good with that!!

Gave a video like. Excellent choice with Shawon Dunston. Loved getting his cards growing up. I forgot he was a #1 overall pick. He fits a side PC of mine as he was born and raised in Brooklyn so that gives me an excuse to still go grab his cards, lol. Mark Grace was awesome. He is the first 8X10 I ever got an autograph of. Do you remember the "Shawon-O-Meter?" 1st base is such a power hitting position that I think Grace was overshadowed by many others. His numbers are better than what I remembered. Probably someone who won't get in the HOF, but you never know years from now.

I have many friends from Chicago that are Cubbie fans. Cubs will always have a soft spot for me. Grace was always one of my favorites. Thx for sharing.

Some great choices here Jason! Dunston was a fun player to watch, he had a cannon for an arm. I am in the camp that steroid player s need to be in the Hall of Fame, I understand if people feel their stats are tainted but for me you just can’t ignore an entire era of baseball. Sosa would definitely need to be one that goes in in my opinion. Grace was probably my favorite Cub of that era, he was such a smooth player, solid in all aspects of the game, close to 2,500 base hits and a .300 lifetime hitter to boot!
