16 gauge is the best of both worlds.
Being a lefty can you flip the safety ?
You cannot unfortunately
Good job on the clean up man. That stamp is the belknap bluegrass 4 leaf clover shaped stamp. If you Google the company you will see some examples. The belknap axes were notorious for light stamps on the logo. Belknap was a hardware company that carried lot of different tools. It looked like there were ridges in the eye of that axe which is a sign it was made by TrueTemper/Kelly works. The 3² you see stamped is actually the weight designation. The larger number (3) marks the full pounds of the head and the smaller super script 2 marks the 1/4 pound increments. Long winded way of saying it's a 3.5lb head. That was a great deal for a very clean vintage axe and it looks like it may be the original handle. Good job with the light Cleanup too. Nothing too crazy. Very respectful of the tools history.
Thank you so much for the information, and the comment! I would have never been able to guess half of that.
@HeyBuckoOutdoors no worries at all man! I love chatting about vintage axes, they are an addictive hobby.
@ I can see how, I definitely plan on getting a couple more.
Salmon River solutions make a nice muzzle break
I’ll check them out
Got to be careful with 98s made before 1906. Might still have the .318" J bore instead of the Spitzer. 323" JS bore. European ammo makers still offer both bore diameters. US only offers the larger bore, which is why US 8mm ammo is so weak. Don't want to blow up the small bore 8mm rifles.
This rifle is a .323 JS bore, still kicks like a mule though. I appreciate the comment
I inherited one from my grandfather. It was my first small game shotgun. I love it to this day.
Beautiful blade
Great review, I have one coming tomorrow. Appreciate your video, Slava Ukraine!
You're cute af but that's not a good way to preserve your boots.
Mink oil is a great way to destroy your boots very quickly. Same with Neatsfoot oil.
Have the exact same gun. I purchased it from the original owner. He claimed to have only shot it a dozen times, and that was mostly sighting it in when brand new with a new scope. When I purchased it, it would only cycle 2 rounds at the most and jam. A trip to the gun smith and he discovered the extractor was bad... a $25 fix and now its a fine running machine.
I’m a year late to this video, that is a very nice custom in my opinion Edit: I wish buck would do a custom with a full tang just my suggestion
Thanks for the comment, I agree a full tang version would be nice

Hi, could you please make a micro survival kit? like an altoids mint tin kind of thing. Im making one myself but I can clearly see some issues with size and stuff.
For sure I can look into doing something like that, thanks for the comment
nice
Did you call the checkering on the grip "Grafting"?
Yeah I did, I meant to say checkering. Grafting popped into my head though. That’s an oopsie for me I guess, thanks for the comment.
Usually those notches on the axe blade are for pulling nails
1:32 that smaller ceramic rod is for serrated edges.
Thank you for the comment, I did not know that.
@HeyBuckoOutdoors of course. Good review of the worksharp.
It is not for steel shot cartridges because no any proof.
What is up with gun tubers showing the audience that the gun is clear? Do you think I'll freak out if you point the gun at the camera? Are you going to shoot me through my screen? Odd
no, recentally youtube made new rules regarding monetization on video involving guns, thats why most youtubers specifically tell you its on safe, not loaded, isnt in full auto, etc.
It's a RULE you hammer down into your thick skull if you ever plan on getting a firearm: Weapon is NEVER safe, unless you double check it. And even then, you don't point it at anything you don't plan on destroying, and you absolutely keep your butter fingers as far away from the trigger as you can. No. Exceptions.
Believe me, I agree that it is basically pointless. That being said, in order to keep the powers that be from getting rid of my content I have to meet them in the middle sometimes. Thanks for the comment.
@@HeyBuckoOutdoors it also doesn't hurt to normalize safe firearms handling practices with the audience, some of whom may be influenced as some stage to get into the hobby/sport in the future. Its all part of a safe gun culture.
It’s not for you. Next.
Looks like an original mauser 98. It has the old sights on it. I know they did away with those sights once they started using the spitzer rounds. Neat rifle though it pains me when I see some guns sporterized. Though that one isn't bad. I'd just try to find a military stock to swap it to. Interesting find thanks for posting.
Thanks for the comment, it’s a pretty neat little rifle. It’s also a blast to shoot.
It would likely cost more than the rifle is worth to put it back into military configuration. Sometimes, it's better to just leave them as sporters.
That poor 1898 Mauser got bubbed
Unfortunately it did, it’s still a sweet shooter though.
Mausers were just $30 after WW2. A Winchester or Remington hunting rifle was $200, roughly 3 weeks wages. That's why so many got sporterized. Plus, stripped Mauser actions were cheap into the 1990s. Which made them perfect for training new gunsmiths.
Thats the carbon steel blade, there is a stainless version but it's marked carbon or stainless on the blade, the carbon version is better imo.
Beautiful gun.
You are left handed Shooting a Right Handed gun ever likely you getting powder dust in your face
Thanks for the comment, I realized that while I was editing the footage. I’m kind of slow before I get my coffee lol
Im still here partner. Happy new year
Happy new year! Thank you for sticking with the channel through all this, I appreciate it.
The Henry's are the greatest rimfire rifle ever made
TURN THE DAMN MUSIC EITHER OFF (PREFEREABLY) OR DOWN (A LOT)!
Thank you for letting me know, the audio file must have gotten messed up when I edited the video. I will fix it, thanks for the comment.
savages are junk
That Henry is nice! I’ve had decent luck with my wildcat but the last 2 savages I bought were lemons. I do own two older 93r17s that are tack drivers though 👍🏻
Feel like sharing what this knife is called, and where it could be acquired?
It’s the Flissa D2 Fixed blade, I picked it up on Amazon.
@@HeyBuckoOutdoors Gratzie mille, fratello.
@@HeyBuckoOutdoors I'm buying one. Thanks for the heads up!
Are you in California. That looks like the San Gabriel mountains
I was in the San Gabriel Mountains when I filmed that short, great eye! Thanks for the comment.
man these are like 15$ at chicagoknifeworks
The model 94 ranger is the exact same as every other model 94. The wood is cheaper and not fitted as tight. Only difference.
Thank you for the clarification!
Ohhhh that makes sense, you're the first person who made sense of that. Yeah I guess if I was cutting line, having it clipped to my belt would be ultra convenient it's at like just the right level of convenience. Only error being it's basically a Chinese knife and is about to become more expensive, along with most other things in this country.
Errrreh! Got issued this in ‘03 for my Iraq tour. In ‘06 or ‘07, we started using the new Ontario bayonet. My wife got me an M3 trench knife, but I’ve been feeling a little nostalgic recently so I’m looking into getting one of these. Anyway, great review. Semper Fi!
Semper Fi, brother
It's not Chrome. They don't Chrome guns. It's not a pair of rims. It's Nicole, and if you've refinished the gun, you devalue it. So don't refinish guns. Keep them original.
I'd definitely take the brisa over all the others. Just my opinion. I didn't know you had hip surgery. Hope you're doing ok now. 👍
Brisa knife is a really good blade.
Easy the single bit. It’s both a hammer and an axe. Ya it’s not as good in the single category but it’s multi use and easier to pack
Double bit. If you sharpen both edges before going out, you won’t have to do as much sharpening in the field, if you do a lot of chopping. I also found my double bit to be fairly good at splitting, as well. Problem is, I just broke my handle clean in half, what handle wood would you recommend?
I think Black diamond makes some decent handles. They are low cost as well. I have one on my single bit, and after sanding it, and oiling it, it turned out great.
@ awesome, thanks 👍
Bravo 1.25 or Bravo 1.5?
1.5 I believe
I own 2 of these. 12 ,20 gauge. Great guns. Better than the Turkish Guns
Thank God for you brother! Every video I saw was 30 minutes of some fudd blowing himself just to do a minute long cylinder swap! Thanks for the quick no frills info!
That’s what I’m here for lol
great stuff- but that music wtf? ate my brain!
Love it, quality scope, quality sling and you chose wood! Great looking rig. I have the 93F synthetic stock version, I also have the 93R17G......its the bull barrel 17HMR in your wood stock. I have a Vortex 2-7 on my 22 mag and the Bushnell A17 3-9 on the 17. They both are super accurate. Try the CCI Grenn 30grn lead free, my 92F loves them.......luckily since I am in CA. 22 WMR is a hammer on jack rabbits. Nice off hand shooting!
3V is awesome, but these knives cost too much
Good review. I am glad to hear someone else say that the handle is not thick enough. It is almost like people are afraid to make Benchmade mad or something. Also, I liked the way you said you like to use the knife for other than just skinning, after all, a knife is made to cut, not just to skin, or carve, or whatever. Yea it might have a shape that will make it better at cutting one thing over another, but it is still made to cut. Keep up the great work. There was however one thing, the wood is not walnut, it is Dymawood (I hope I spelled that right) which is a gloryfied plywood.
Thank you for the comment, and the correction!
Bark River runs their 3v at 60 rockwell.
