Always liked the Blu-ray, but this 4k was top notch. I can see peoples frustration with the Heavy DNR and and AI restorations, there has been a few deep dives by professional tv calibrators showing how the tv settings thatt are supposed to help can ruin your picture.

The results of this past election is enough for me to believe this is a simulation and clearly someone’s practical joke. No other explanation is plausible. Truth is truly stranger than fiction. Oh, and The Terminator is essentially a perfect film. So glad to hear this 4K release got it right.

As good as the transfer looks, it's not actually a 4k restoration. The source material is the previous blu-ray version. Yes, this master was completed in 4K but finished in 2K, and by that logic this release is just an upscale. With regard to the extra features, it's a real shame that for such a classic film, nothing new was added, not even actor Lance Hendrickson's Audio Commentary, that he recorded for the film decades ago, and, still has never been put to disc. He was originally going to be cast as the Terminator itself, and, i'm sure he has some fascinating insight.

I think a lot of people forget how much of monster was Arnold was in this movie as the terminator...he might as well be Jason or Michael Myers!

That comforting quality is the old school "filmic" feeling that you just can't get from digital! It "feels" like a movie- as it should! And I agree with you on how much clearer it is!!

Heads up previous release on blu ray was 4k scanned from orignal camera negative one of the only 4k scanned standard blu ray From a studio non botique but the film wasn't tuned which isn't dnr that keeps it from looking annoying that all releases do for some reason which is fixed on new release

I’m a bit late on this one lol. Thanks for your review! Being the brand new owner of an old 3d tv in 2024 has me collecting 3d movies and video games. Always hoped they would make a true 3d version and just recently discovered this release with a google search. Now I really want it! I only wish there was a way to purchase the films individually instead of the expensive box set. I only really liked parts 2-7. The others I could take ‘em or leave ‘em hahaha chi chi chi 😮

Harmonizing , riffing… the music just playing for two minutes straight towards the end… I haven’t stop listening… he put his soul into this , and I felt it. Separate the colorful personality and you get a great body of work. We needed this ❤

Your review doesnt feel like a fan nor a casual fan more like a casual movie goer who've only watched the movies and didnt get into the lore. I as a fan liked this I havent played the isolation games but i sure did saw one from the fireteam elite game, and the writing i didnt had that much problem with it but it did the lore justice by not making david the one who created the xenomorphs most fans hated that and this movie brought back the mystery of their origins. Im in a community who are fans and discussed this movie and i gain more knowledge about the franchise but i still consider myself as a casual but a fan.
