I'm just a hobbyist who enjoys creating 3d animations, 3d art and more. I've had the luck to officially work on the Star Trek and Stargate franchises in the past. For Star Trek, I did a couple of Ships of the Line Calendar images. For Stargate, I recreated the famous wormhole effect from the 1994 movie for Stargate: Origins. Currently I am working on an original science fiction novel set in an original universe and want to create designs and artworks based on it.
[WIP] Star Trek: The Wormhole - Battle and Finale
This is a roughly blocked previz, more to come. Check out the opening shot: th-cam.com/video/0incXcX6oOQ/w-d-xo.html
Seems inspiration hit when I found an old render I did around 2007. Spend a couple of hours this week to roughly block everything to see if it makes sense to continue.
Obviously the thing at the end won't be a Stargate, it's just a placeholder. ;)

Enterprise Leaves Spacedock - Previz Animation
มุมมอง 9K2 ปีที่แล้ว
This is one of the earliest pre-visualization edits I did. I had roughly blocked all the shots, and then played with the timing. It's all very rough and unpolished. Make sure you don't miss the final version: th-cam.com/video/OdRUL8RbDw8/w-d-xo.html
Enterprise Leaves Spacedock with James Horner Score - Star Trek VI - The Undiscovered Country
มุมมอง 1.2M2 ปีที่แล้ว
I've been wanting to do this animation for years. This is originally a scene from Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, that I re-edited with animations and re-scored with James Horner's brilliant soundtrack titled "Genesys Destroyed" from the complete score of Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. I always felt that, given that The Undiscovered Country was the final journey of the Enterprise,...
Star Trek: Nemesis Finale (unfinished WIP)
มุมมอง 70K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Here's an old unfinished WIP of a reimagined finale to Star Trek: Nemesis. The USS Titan, a Galaxy class, commanded by Captain Riker, and the USS Enterprise, a Sovereign class, depart into deep space, heading to new adventures. Background would have been the planet Betazed. I wanted to mix the warp effects of TNG and Star Trek 2009. I added Jerry Goldsmith's brilliant score of the ending of U.S...
Stargate Kawoosh (2018)
มุมมอง 24K5 ปีที่แล้ว
After years of on and off tweaking, I finalized the Kawoosh animation. It's all done in LightWave 2018 using a complex nodal displacement setup, with some post processing in After Effects. It's the very same principle as in the breakdown video (th-cam.com/video/dkufTQZnRgk/w-d-xo.html) I did years ago. The secret lies in tweaking the displacement until it looks and animates like a water surface...

Star Trek - Ships of the Line Calendar - October 2012
มุมมอง 4.2K10 ปีที่แล้ว
Animated version of the October page of the official Star Trek - Ships of the Line 2012 Calendar. Based on the climax of the film Star Trek: Insurrection, the Enterprise-E races along the exploding Son'a particle collector to save Captain Picard from certain death. The particle collector model is based on concept sketches by John Eaves, intentionally deviating from the final model used in the f...
Star Trek - Ships of the Line Calendar - Cover 2011
มุมมอง 7K10 ปีที่แล้ว
Animated version of the front cover of the official Star Trek - Ships of the Line 2011 Calendar. The Enterprise inside the giant Spacedock, first seen in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. To fill the scene, I used the USS Enterprise and Shuttle models by Alain Rivard, and the USS Excelsior model by Simon Coles. Rendered in LightWave 3D, composited in AfterEffects
Star Trek - Ships of the Line Calendar - December 2010
มุมมอง 6K10 ปีที่แล้ว
Animated version of the December page of the official Star Trek - Ships of the Line 2010 Calendar. Set some time before the events of Star Trek: The Motion Picture, it shows the USS Enterprise in drydock next to the construction site of the enormous mushroom shaped Spacedock (first seen in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock). Enterprise and Shuttle models by Alain Rivard. Rendered in LightWave...

After watching this again, I would have to say this is a more accurate representation of 1/4 impulse power out of space dock, and it was nice to note that they were granted permission to leave versus what happened in Star Trek three😮😊
That was breathtaking! Bravo!
Timeless!!
the only thing that could make this better. would be to show onboard other ships a yellow alert going off as the ships inside spacedock were shifted around in their moorings. You know show why thrusters only. LOL Kinda like the no wake signs leaving a marina.
Yes, I'm watching my favorite clip again as a 2024 EOY visual treat, and I wonder, Robert, pretending for a moment this is a real ship, do you have any thoughts as to where the source is for the spots that light up the inside rear registry markings on the nacelles? Note timeline: 00:01:41. Thanks and again, thank you for creating this uber-wonderful clip. Better than the movie (sorry, ILM!).
Thank you! I placed the spotlights at the top of the engineering section for that.
@@misterwilde Cool - time to go back and watch the video AGAIN! 🙂 Happy New Year!
I'd bet the Backwash from the Impulse Engines caused all kinds of Hell inside Spacedock.
Fantastic
So cool.
did anyone notice the acting and thought that went into this scene kirk asked for permission to leave SD and gave the command to clear all moorings he checks the con and nav panels and Walter Koenig pressed buttons that seemed with a conference that they did something
i wonder how much of the spacedock is visible from earth
Finally a spot on representation of 1/4 impulse power… Hella fast!! If the Enterprise had moved this quickly in The Search For Spock stealing the Enterprise scene the Excelsior would have been left in the dust as it should have been
Sir, I enjoyed your work. Well done.
I love that final shot of the camera looking at the nacelle pylons as the Enterprise leaves Spacedock. In fact, the same shot in Star Trek Beyond is also my favorite.
This movie was embarrassing. The last watchable Star Trek movie is Voyage Home.
1:50 Wow, the RCS doing proper RCS things. Did they _ever_ actually show that back in the day?
Beautiful
Wonderful music by James Horner. James Horner composed 2 star trek movies , this one Star Trek VI, The undiscovered country. But also an even more loved one, that being Star trek ll, The Wrath of Khan. If you want to check out more of this maestros movie themes, check out the you tube video 'Hollywood in Vienna 2013'. It's highly recommended listening.
Beverly: Will did you just throw a ship into a wormhole portal? Will: Damn right I did!
Predicted it, ha!
Finish it! ❤❤❤
Spacedock control: yellow alert, Kirk is leaving spacedock. Sol and united earth fleet cmd: here we go again people we trained for this everyone out of his way!
Only star Trek could make leaving the garage so special 😊😊😊
Great idea! I hope you get a chance to finish this one. 🥃
Enterprise looks beaut, great job!
Awesome!!!!
Glad to see this is the fixed version of this scene. they crawled out at 1/4 impulse power in the original movie. 1/4 impulse should equate to approx 18,000 kph give or take.
This is next level work. We need every ST classic film redone with this level of graphics and re-released. The initial space dock scene alone is better than any model previously shot.
Outstanding work on this video. Absolutely perfect
The best-looking Enterprise treated with proper reverence. Sexy.
How to make a Vulcan look nervous
Zero gravity, no resistance of air , yes chemical rockets can haul. The Enterprise impulse thrust ports aren't huge for a reason.
Wow. Late to the party, but this just came across my feed and it’s really lovely work that opens up the film considerably. I guess leaving Spacedock under impulse is the 23rd century equivalent of Maverick buzzing the conning tower - frowned upon, but not exactly forbidden either.
You should send to Nicholas Meyer and ask him to add this to any new director release versions .
2:35 I just noticed that Valeris is wearing LCDR insignia instead of LT or LTJG.
Also a grey shoulder strap and trim on her tunic, but a red turtleneck shirt....
0:36 What I'd like to know is what these other classes of starship are, other than the Miranda and the Oberth.
Enterprise-D and Enterprise-E
I’ve watched this several times and keep coming back. It is so very well done!
Seeing it that fast now I picture the control being like “Who just blasted out…. Oh, it’s Kirk… now it makes sense”
Sex and the Enterprise 2:17 - Kim Catrall yay th-cam.com/video/OdRUL8RbDw8/w-d-xo.html
I still come back to watch this and just blown away everytime, this is so outstandingly good. It needs to be added into the movie for all future relases of dvds, blu-rays, whatever formats.
Fantastic! 👏
Wow. Amazing effort. Thanks for bring a little of past into the present. :) LLAP
Oh thank god, it's a fan edit. Thought the holy grail of Trek films had received the George Lucas treatment. 😮
Wow that was great!!!
The camera movement in the CGI scenes clashes with the live action scenes.
Dockmaster. "That bloody Kirk.....I've told him time and time again!!!....."
Just love the little exchange between Kirk and Spock after Valeris says "aye Sir". And also the fact, that if you look over the shoulder of Valeris, all the other crewmen are looking to see what transpires.
Jesus, that's a little large for a USB plug in 0:20
Brilliant. The upside down (original right way up) Miranda class in the background was a nice touch and the deflector dish coming online…wow.
🖖😎👍!.
