Took my Darkhorse 107 out paired with a 6.9 Loft Sail Racing Blade and a 33 cm Sonntag . Top speed for the day was just a bit over 31 knots. This board is amazing! Fast, controllable , and will hold a 7.8 sail down to a 6 comfortably.

Hi Bob- where do you launch from?
@@garyhanford Clarendon Beach.
How would you indicate the differences between the FF and the Fox?
For me the FF is faster to plane and has the faster top end if the water is flatter to moderate chop. Once there is more chop or cross chop the Fox stars to catch up. Both gybe nice with the Fox holding the gybe a bit better in the really rough stuff due to a narrower tail.
we have 105 and 120 V2 models, loving it, they are a bit expensive but we waited with my wife for used good ones to show up and they are brilliant, very comfortable and I am instantly faster and more at eaze on the chop, se we dare go faster. I tried Fox in Prasonisi when they were released first time but I just have become intermediate and i liked then, but now I can really appreciate how good it is
where is the chop?
Hi Bob, where do You surf? Is it a lake? Whitch lake? .... And ... is a grat video. I use the Hucker sails too here in Germany. Great sails. Best regards from old Germany Chrischan
Hi Christian. This video is from is from Lake Simcoe ,Ontario Canada.
Nice. Where is that?
Lake Simcoe
Have got the 105 Fox. Have you mounted the front and back foot strap both all the way back? And the mast foot…? I have both in the middle position, if I‘m not powered up, it feels a bit sticky sometimes… maybe should try it as well;)
Hey Dave. I have the footstraps all the way back on both front and back and the mast foot just about all the way back. If not fully powered I agree with you that it feels sticky so I always go with a lot of sail because you can control the fox so well. I'm 175 lbs and sail with a 7.2 cambered sail all the way down to a 5.0 non cambered , so the fox can take a huge sail range, I just change from a 34cm fin for the bigger sails down to the stock 32cm fin it came with. You might also try a bigger fin on yours as well.
Impressive! How do you like the Fox (esp. compared to a small slalom board)?
Thanks GER-84. I think the fox is a great board. I have a small slalom board as well ( Darkhorse 97)and there are some differences. If the water is flatter and no steep chop then the slalom board is faster to plane and top end speed. However, if the water is rough, then the Fox is very quick as well. It has so much control that you never feel out of control and can push it hard. It's so smooth going through rough chop and it Gybes nice too.
I think i saw you out there a few times (or maybe someone else who used ACK at wind) looks like a blast.
I follow Nico Prien and didn't check what board he was on. But seems to me that more relaxed would be 116L? Anyway, envious of you boys and girls sailing there. Would like to participate....
Always a gamble in a long distance race. If I could change anything for that race I would have picked a bigger fin for a bit more drive and less spinout. Yes your right about Nico, I think he was on his Isonic 67cm and 6.6 sail.
Yo what was the distance of the race?
The race consists of 4 legs of 3 miles each for a total of 12 miles or just under 20 km.
Looks like a very nice spot!
yes I'm spoiled, just a 2min drive from my house.
@@bob2787 Wow, you beat me by 5min, hahaha!
