    My question is how do chips that look like they are from the 80s can hold a large N64 game. I had an N64 emulator and the games are a few megs, especially tony hawk games.

    There's also an OoB in the Prologue. If you go down the red pipe before the first red door, you can step off to a lower part of the building. Go all the way to the end and to your left, there should be another lower building. If you wall run and then kick, you are able to go down there without dying.

  • @kierancowface
    @kierancowface 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    If I were to make this video, most of it would be the same. Prologue: At the start, you can use a pipe to get to the starting animation of the game place. Nothing is clipped but the floor. Chapter 1: Exact same route. Chapter 2: This spot is one, but theres also another in the jacknife chase where you can abuse the falling after a roll glitch to fall down to the streets for a bit before it fails you. Chapter 3: Just after you leave Ropeburn's office, you can climb a sign and jump off it, and use the same roll glitch to make it to a building that you normally can't get to and theres nowhere to kickglitch to. It's certainly a lot easier that chaining wall climbs. Chapter 4: Same. Chapter 5: Theres a spot just after the elevator where you can do a wallrun down to an elevated part just before the door you go into to get to the building with the elevator. Chapter 6: I use the building and a carefully timed kickglitch to land on the bins down there, but same spot. You can also use an out of bounds chapter skip used in speedruns, something about an invisible platform to get down on the other side of the fence near the entrance to the PK building. Chapter 7: Exact same, the standard speedrunning technique to skip Chapter 7. Chapter 8: The place where the runner dudes first attack you, theres a part where you can kickglitch to a small building just below you. Not the one with an instant death barrier, theres another one on the opposite side that the runner guys come from. You can also use the roll glitch to get down there. Chapter 9: I didn't even know this glitch existed, but now i guess i do.

    I'm coming back to this after another plathrough of Mirror's Edge, and I really feel there was wasted potential here for a great open world. Don't get me wrong, the linear aspect and story missions in the original game really made it optimal for doing parkour, but it still feels like they could've had a more open level design or at least more street level in missions. The city was surprisingly unique in it's minimalistic style, something that Catalyst seemed to abandon for a more futuristic and clean look. In a way it reminds me of the first Underground game, where despite the linear nature of the races, there was a near finished city that could be explored through exploits and/or modifications. Apologies for rambling, but I just really love the first game and any kind of open world esque design.

    • @atomicmayo
      @atomicmayo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No need to apologize! I for sure agree the game had huge potential to be a great open world game. It surprises me how much detail some of these streets areas have which is what drew me in to making a video about some of them in the first place. I really hope that one day DICE can find the balance between open world and linear level design for a third Mirror's Edge game someday, but at the moment all we can do is hope for the best. Thank you for the comment!!

    Really well done analysis, video structure, and editing. The only constructive criticism I can offer is for you to work on the delivery of your dialogue. In my opinion, you sound very disinterested in what you’re saying (mostly through your voice inflection). It just sounds a bit too monotonous. Other than that, great video! Your potential for growth is high if you keep delivering videos like this.

    Some of those parts in the cartridge might be a ROM, a RAM, and possibly the one above what i think is the ROM is a sound generator. I think that’s right.

    • @atomicmayo
      @atomicmayo 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most likely, yeah. I'm not too keen on circuit boards and stuff, but from what I've heard/seen, that's all that seems to be in these things.

    • @MrPoeGhost
      @MrPoeGhost 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know this is a half-year-old comment, but the largest chip is very likely the ROM, then the other two are likely EEPROM or flash for saving, and the lockout chip, similar to the NES'.
