Anchoring a Stitch for Tail Weaves and Direction Change in Duplicate Stitch
Leslie, thank you so much for this great step-by-step guide to pinning those swatches! Incredibly helpful. As another commenter stated, I haven't seen this method of pinning in other demonstrations/explanations. It makes sense and, after trying it out on my Preliminary Swatch for the MHK program, I'm a convert! On to Swatch #1. I'll be checking out your other postings as I work through the program!🙂
Great tutorial, but it's quite hard to see the stitches and where exactly it's being anchored. At one point the tail covered up where you were anchoring. Is there an updated video for this tutorial? It doesn't seem like it is too awfully difficult, but just wanted to see if maybe this had been updated with a higher quality video. Thank you for the tutorial. it's great information!
Do the swatches have to be knit to a certain size?
Nice
It would be helpful to know where you're placing the pins (between stiches, in the knit stitch, in the purls of a rib, etc.) to avoid visible pin holes. I have really struggled with this. Thanks!
That's very good for make the Nelchina cardigan (by Caitlin Hunter), thank you!!!
. . . and if those ruffles are around the bottom edge of a girl's dress, how we do blocking both sides at the same time? 🤔
how do I find this mini course? I have some problems with my cables I am doing right now.
It is offered as a course for TKGA members. The cost is $25. Yo get an information packet and then there are exercises such as this that you work and then send to me. I’ll look them over and help you improve.
Thank you for this. This is the best explanation on how to actually block a knitted piece. I've been looking for something like this since I learned about blocking and it took Arenda Holladay recommending your blog post for me to find this video!
Thank you for your video. How long did it take for you to complete this certification? And how proficient were you when you started?
Sorry I seem to have missed the lesson 1 ?
These are supplimentary videos to a correspondence course that will be available later this summer for purchase at tkga.org. Withour the coursework they won't make much sense.
As a member of tkga I will keep a look out for this course thank you
Great. I will announce it on Ravelry and in the Newsletter when it's finally ready to go. It should be sometime later this summer.
WOW. Thanks for sharing. I'm thinking of taking these courses. Seem you have to be an advanced knitter to finish. Beautiful job.
OMG!!! I can't believe you are doing this!! Thank you so so much!!!
Thank-you! I also found it in Lisl Fanderl's Bäuerliches Stricken, rosenheimer raritäten, n.d.
Thank you very much. I learned quite a bit from this video
I weave them in before blocking but don't cut the tails until they are dry.
It is Feather Lace The Harmony Guide to Knitting Stitches. London: Lyric Books, 1983. p. 51
Do we weave in our ends before or after blocking?
Thanks for posting this awesome video. I just signed up a few days ago and your video is my inspiration. Your sweater is a beautiful work of art.
That lace pattern is really lovely. May I ask for a pattern reference, please, or must I wait until Level 2? ;0) Thanks for taking the time to make this clear & helpful tutorial!
Wow, great job. I was seriously considering signing on for this, but i think of all those swatches, and feel just a bit ill. I love to knit, but I'm afraid this would suck the joy out of it.
I am a master knitter.
This was fantastic. I've been thinking about doing the Master Knitters program, but I don't think I could ever be that good. What a beautiful job you've done. well done
This is awesome! I just submitted my Level I binder last week :) I am horrendous at picking up stitches, so, it is going to be interested . . .
What a fantastic job you have done on this project! After watching this, I think I'll just wait awhile before I try it. I've only been knitting a little while. I just ordered the Master Crochet Course, and will be doing that one, though. I've been crocheting for over 35 years (yikes! that's a long time, considering I'm in my 40s....)
Oh my gosh you are dedicated! So, I assume you completed this making you a Master Knitter, right? :)
wow...thanks so much for creating this. I just started looking into the requirements for each level and this is so helpful
