Everything is better than dragons nowadays. The only thing they had going going for them was durability but now their durability is worse than all of the other good sleeves. Never like their taller size, their shuffle feel is shit and their front often has weird scratch marks.

These bans are unnecessary, and it's the "casual" mind-set that's ruining the format. If a random sits down and plays a deck that's more powerful on purpose, find someone else to play with. If it's an accident, they'll switch decks if they want to. Not everyone wants to play a 2 hour long game with no interaction or acceleration, and the bans stop people from playing the way they want to. The financial aspect alone is enough reason for people to be upset.

Good video. The format is better without these cards in it and honestly the big issue is that the rules committee didn't act sooner which overall just made things worse. It sucks that people lost money but the alternative is that these cards continue to be legal, continue to make games worse, and force new players to spend even more money on them. Overall I hope that going forward the rules committee is more aggressive over policing broken cards like these and actually bans them proactively rather than allowing them to run rampant for years and get to the point that they have.

is this good for game paly yes trust no because its a stigma now if i buy x good card that i try to replace the banned ones with and i think rule 0 is good but now if i ask to play with a deck that is not high power but may have a banned card that makes me the out man the target from the start or the person that does not get a game. because the tools that exist need to be worked on to express what deck and power level you are playing like i could have a deck slicer which has lotus its very miss but in another group it could stomp and understanding what we have to a better extent needs to happen and be pushed or we can have massive miss fires and lost trust and well personally hesitation on playing this format.

This hurt a lot of game stores and that's what I think people forget about. They used these cards to push higher priced sets knowing they were talking about banning them and they wonder why they average player only plays 2 to 3 years.

I genuinely think the only people who are actually upset at this change are either people who see this game as a speculative asset, or people who got tricked into thinking like these people. And honestly I couldn't care less about the feelings of the people who actually demonstrably makes this game a worse experience. Hell, if you enjoy playing high power, big ramp, this ban list should make you rejoice. Because, while it is not legal anymore, you can still play it with your friends, the only difference being now you can afford these cards without putting a second mortgage on your house. I also think that absolutely no card that can just go into any deck and be good is interesting or fun design. If you think you need something to fix the rules of the format you play, then it shouldn't be a card. Because people will then need to buy and it'll be obviously become impossibly expensive because of it, creating a gap between those who can afford it and those you can't. Congratulations, you've made your format a class war. P.S.: I think you're right that WotC has a share of responsibility, if not most of the responsibility in making magic cards a speculative asset, and basically selling you junk that they know FOR A FACT will be worthless even as a speculative asset in the near future is doubly evil. This relationship between the card game (which is incredible) and the product is nowdays the thing I loathe the most about this game I loved. This said, this should not stop a rules commitee to ban cards because that they feel are bad for the game, they should NOT take the financial aspect into account except maybe to reduce the financial burden inflicted on players onboarding.

My first experience with magic was at the LGS. I got the knight precon and I thought I would like do some combat. I didnt know about power level at the time and my opponent had a Kovold. U see where this is going. Bro played a dockside against my poor precon, made millions of treasure, took a 15 min turn contemplating whether to sac and draw. Proceed to kill his dockside and recure it multiple times. It was not a pleasant time for me sadly as a first experience

MTG has always had and always will have pay-to-win when it comes to tournaments, but having a high floor for tournament entry is expected. I would rather have someone drop a jeweled lotus or a mana crypt than any of the Teferi planeswalkers. For the people who don't want to invest in playing tournaments and just want to play casual, proxies are an option. The only ban of these four that was widely sought after in the community was Nadu, and WotC themselves admitted he was a mistake. The other three were powerful, but they weren't any more powerful than many planeswalkers that are still legal in the format. There are still so many cards left in the format that are stronger overall that is we set the bar at the level of power seen in three of the new bans, then we'll be reshaping the format entirely.

I think the fact that with winter you can easily turn 3 buried alive idk a dryad arbor, blightsteel colossus, and gravebreaker lamia for example. Turn 4 cast winter and just slam the blightsteel into play on your endstep is kinda nuts

None, commander is a trash format. It’s an off shoot, not even actual magic.

Haven't preordered one yet but Aminatou is very tempting, I didn't even think about enchantment creatures until you brought it up! Another thing to point out is that she's able to cast enchantments on your opponents turn if it's the first card you draw due to how the miracle effect works.

Not really excited about any of the decks but individual cards will be ordered. Not all the decks have been spoiled but from the one that have, giggling skitterspike is going to be a must in my willowdusk deck

Already preodered the Aminatou and Zimone decks. Aminatou first card was so good and I I was hoping for a new Aminatou card. I am hype for them both!

Limited-only player. Between release overload and play booster nonsense ruining sealed, I'm just going to do a couple of drafts of each set then call it a day. I wonder if this breakneck pace is what made the Duskmourn story, cards, and trailer look as though they're from 3 distinctly separate iterations of the plane.

Bloomburrow is literally my favourite set I've ever had the pleasure of playing while it was currently released since I started playing, and yeah it's genuinely like, kinda depressing that it'll be old news in less than a few weeks from now. The only thing that I have to look forward to is prices on it dropping significantly as people move on to whatever is new and shiny.

I'm halfway Bloomburrow Mastery, still considering crafting some rare cards and suddenly a new expansion was announced. Now I need to speedrun through mastery which sucks and takes away whole fun;/ What's more, this TV horror wibe is completely out of my interest in fantasy CCG lore. So I will follow your advise and just have fun and craft all cards which I like, not worrying about next expansion:) Otherwise it would be never ending struggle to be up to date with all new decks. And playing supposed to be fun and relax not another real life struggle and money sink.

Yes, you can talk about product overload, but the tight timeframe here was created by the introduction of the Foundations Set as a part of standard, so right topic, wrong trigger.

They weren't kidding when they said "you choose what you want to engage with". Your time/ money/ attention is the limited resource here and you.need.to.CHOOSE. Which means you need to learn to skip and ignore and not feel the FOMO. Have some standards while you're at it.

I do agree with your stance that product overload makes it "not special". Came back into MTG after BLB arrived, and now it hasnt even been a month and we already have news of new stuff. It's all just so fleeting, lacks impact or uniqueness. I'm really enjoying BLB and to see it all go away so fast just takes away a good part of the joy.

Sleeves feel great but the sleeve size is inconsistent

No, as a dwarf tribal player I barely ever get new products to get excited for, and the Simpsons Jakks line is where my money wants to go.

It's been the same way as everything spiraled towards War of the Spark. I noticed it here and there, but when Kaldheim hit is when I really felt it. Just burned out. The cards were coming too fast to upgrade my decks, and I missed a good chunk of the cards in it - and the story. Man, the story. And I noticed at that point too that I hadn't had time to pay attention to the story. I don't even really know what happened. I like Tibalt and he was there, and Frikken Vorrinklex was there somehow, and still the story felt like it zoomed passed me. And pretty much every set since. I've not had time to enjoy the cards from one set to the next. And the story's been blown by the wayside because we're not given the time to read it. The Phyrexian invasion could've been multiple sets long, or even a year or two as the invasion spreads. But instead we get the card sparking the invasion and the card ending the invasion spoiled before the set's even out. The drama and suspense crushed before the set even released.

First set in along time and I don't expect to buy much into the next year or so.

The flip-side of this though is that when a set isn't very special, it's nice to have something to look forward to. "Yeah magic right now sucks, but next month it might be more up my street". As someone who has no interest in Bloomburrow, I'm currently appreciating Duskmourn spoilers giving me a reason to keep paying attention. And block was kind of terrible - when the theme of a block is good, it's amazing, but when the theme of a block doesn't work for you, you're going an *entire year* with no new MTG product to care about. That happened to me with Tarkir block. Tarkir simply wasn't very interesting to me, especially after the incredible blocks that were Return to Ravnica and Theros, and then because I stopped having new products to buy, I gradually began to play MTG less, my attention got grabbed by Yugioh, which was simultaneously becoming much more fun, and I ended up going 5 years without paying any attention to MTG at all. This is especially significant when the average MTG player is only expected to play for about 18 months (which WOTC has stated is the case) - in block, an average player would only ever see two of MTG's planes - you'd start playing in Innistrad and have lost interest halfway through Ravnica. The key benefit of standalone sets is that it becomes OK for a set to not be everyone's cup of tea, and that's the environment that enables WOTC to do experimental themes that not everyone will like. Sometimes that makes largely bad products like Karlov Manor, but sometimes it creates sets like Bloomburrow that are far more popular than it would have been reasonable to expect. They would never risk taking a year away from all of their existing, humanoid characters, but one or two months is doable.

Too many sets, every month is spoiler season. Does not feel meaningful anymore.

So many sets have had this issue over the last few years I almost would want a set twice a year if not just once a year.
