When we think of paradise, we see white sand beaches, dolphins frolicking in turquoise water, and adventure around every corner -- and that is exactly what you will find in Nelson Bay!
Tucked into the Port Stephens Harbour, will find the remarkable coastline, biodiverse estuary that is every diver's dream, and the southern hemisphere's greatest sand dunes! Oh -- and did I mention you can watch dolphins leap from the water as a daily occurrence?
The only question is how will we ever move on from our favourite place in Australia thus far??
There is certainly never a dull moment when you are living the SUV life in Australia so tune in and come along with us! ✌️

What time of year were you there? It looks like everyone has wetsuits what was the water temp? I have a trip planned for the end of august and am super excited to hopefully dive this wreck.
That's so exciting! We were there in late April/May and the water temp was consistently 23C. Most of us were wearing 5mm suits + 2mm vest since we were doing 4 dives a day. Have a great trip and I hope you get to dive this wreck :)

Great video. Old Ford Reserve is a sweet camp.. I checked it out but didn't stay there coz of no phone signal lol. Back then there was free camping right next to Evans Lookout so that was my go-to. Good job it's still WATERFALL lol

great video! recently purchased an xtrail and im 50/50 on adding a raised platform. how did you find sleeping in such a tight space ?
Hi Ross, glad you joined the x-trail gang! The elevated platform definitely has its pros and cons but you can base the platform height around your essential items (e.g. fridge, cookware, outdoor gear, etc.). The ability to stealth camp while not having to move everything to the front seat was definitely worth the squeeze. Depending on your plans and how much you will be travelling, you can also take the rear seats out which would allow a lower platform and increase storage space. We got used to the minimal head room pretty quickly and made a few upgrades as we travelled and had no issues. Recently we added a rooftop tent as well as the platform and it has been worth every penny. Definitely the best set up and you can often find great deals on Facebook marketplace.

Thanks so much! We actually had our Mt. Sinai hike booked through the hostel a friend was staying at in Dahab and transportation was included. It was the Rafiki hostel and they seemed to be the cheapest with the smallest groups. Getting from the Sharm El-Sheikh airport to Dahab we also had a taxi arranged ahead of time with our accommodation. Have fun on your trip! You'll love it :)

Omg I have to roadtrip there😻 just came back from Scotland where we saw loads of deer and a few goat along the side of the road and spotting them was one of the many highlights😹😻

What company did you dive with?
All star liveaboards! We’ve done a few trips through them and it's always been a great time. They often have some great last minute deals too
@@BetweenTwoDuffels Thanks. Wife and I did Blackbeards with them as our first live aboard. Then we did Aggressor Red Sea South and Belize. Red Sea was deeply discounted as they were kicking off that franchise, I think 2k for both of us all in. How were the rooms and did you get to pick where you stayed or did they assign. Blackbeards, they assign berths.
@@philliplust8059the rooms were spectacular on this boat! We had a room with a king sized bed or there are also rooms with two doubles. Each room has its own head (including a shower with hot water). We did Blackbeards a few years ago too and absolutely loved it!
