Tim Johnson's incredible B-17 done up in Memphis Belle colors/scheme. To say this aircraft was a major undertaking would be a complete understatement. Amazing work, amazing aircraft!

Here is a brief clip of my TF Jug on its maiden flight with smoke on! She is a wonderful flying machine and is one of the finest flying Giant Scale warbirds I have ever flown! An absolute delight to fly.
I know how much work and experience it takes to build one of those. Your work is outstanding, well done!
@@sprietnicolas4199 thanks so much! Sure is fun! Head scratching at times but fun!
@ for sure!!!
Nice model, greetings from Mexico.
@@manuelbeltranmeza thank you! Greetings from North Idaho!
Very nicely done & well flown🥰
Thank you 😁
Gratuliere💥...ein tolles Modell, super Arbeit 👍mein größter Respekt, sieht unglaublich gut aus...viele Grüße aus Berlin und weiterhin tolle Flüge mit der Me
Thank you!
Great lookin' model! How much of a performance difference is there between the 2 blade prop and a scale 3 blade?
@@TheJazsa80 thanks. It’s a significant reduction with the 3 blade and in addition, the diameter would be very small and just would look right.
No body wants to hear music when the motor starts and runs, esp. the flybys, get rid of it!
Great job, plane looks great.yourtake off and landing were spot on those narrow gear can be challenging.
@@dank3998 thanks!
I really enjoyed your video, esp the flight, that motor made a wonderful sound and the landing was so realistic, the 109 can be a handful to land, but you nailed that one.
@@johnmorrison1180 thanks a bunch!
Nice, great job 👍
Thanks 👍
It is BF109 not an ME 109.
BF and ME are interchangeable.
it was also called the ME-109, it was the messerschmitt 109 or for short ME-109.
She actually looks much more at home up there flying than in the driveway! Gorgeous bird👍🏻
I think so too!
Very nice!! I fly a 1/4 scale 109 F, that I built from the old Meister Scale plan. It's full balsa, with a fiberglass skin. Power is from a DLE-61, which gives it very good power. She's a wonderful flyer. I did the paint and finish as Hartmann's first 109 when he was posted to JG52. I see in your video that you also have what looks to be a 1/4 Balsa USA Fokker D-VIII. Funny enough I fly one of those as well with a DLE-35. Thanks for the look and Happy Landings!!
Awesome! Great scheme. It’s actually a BUSA DR1 in 1:4 scale.
Sounds really good for a 2-stroke!!
Thanks! This old 3W 60 runs like a Swiss watch!
Muzyczka zagłusza wszystko. Źle.
Chyba kołpak śmigła jest zbyt masywny?
7.5 inches in diameter.
Nice, great sound old video hope she still flying.
@@fdwsr71 yes! The Belle is still flying!
Great refurb. Lovely shop you have there also!
@@michaelburns1212 thank you!
absolutely beautiful clean work
Thank you!
that is beautiful! whats the name of the filler you use for the fairing between the horizontal stab and the fin?
@@Clouddddxjzjs552 that’s Super-Fil. Great stuff, strong and very light weight! I get it from Aircraft Spruce.
@ thank you very much!
Plane is Oberleutnant or Hauptmann Erich "Bubi" Hartmann's (352 victories). He served in Jagdgeschwader 52 (Fighter Wing 52) in Eastern Front. "Karaya" means: darling, honey, dearest. Great job, indeed!!! "Halsundbeinbruch"! (War-time Luftwaffe did not paint propellor blade tips yellow.)
@@esajuhanirintamaki965 thank you! Indeed it does!
Very nice
@@fdwsr71 thanks!
That's a great looking model. Great work. Nice flying to too. Looks like a well-behaved plane.
@@HGSolberg thank you! It’s a wonderful flyer.
Beautiful plane, it's a shame it doesn't have a three blade propeller.
@@sergebarbarat6643 thanks! Sadly, this engine could only spin a 20” 3 blade prop and the performance would be considerably less.I appreciate your comment though!
@@merlinpower100 Thank you for your reply, your 109 is nevertheless extremely beautiful.
Looks great, I love the rivets, the soft spray edges and the sheen of the paint. Very convincing. Did little Erich give you his approval too? Lol
Thank you! I appreciate it! I believe it looks the part. And yes, he did!
Fantastic work, great job she looks awesome 👍👍
Thanks so much!
Beautiful Model of a legendary airplane!❤️
@@theonlymadmac4771 thanks so much for the comment! Much appreciated!
great job! I flew there during the scale event this year when it was 106 degrees! I really like that field and I will fly there again in 2025. Subscribed!
@@PC9JEFF awesome! Thanks, it is a great field. See you next year! I missed the scale event last year as I was out of state.

Excellent job. I’ve got a Ziroli Hellcat that’s been finished and just put away. Awaiting its maiden one of these years.
@@AN-ce1nd I love the Ziroli Hellcat. Great flying plane! You’ll love it!
It look great!!!! Do you ever have people complain about the swastika? I have a swastika on a Corsair that I've done it was captured during WW2
@@Boz2131 nope. Not yet anyway. I have t seen a captured Corsair before. Sounds like a cool scheme.
har har..i´m from Germany and here some green-woke guys would suffer from heart attack by seeing this. It´s interesting, that in the former "foe"-countries the swastika is allowed and no one matters but in the former father land of the young pilots who gave their lives in the meaning to fight for their country against bolschewism and the two countries who declared war first to Germany, it´s strictly forbidden. Crazy... And, by the way, very cool flyling and super-landing, congrats, colleague! (my fiance also has problems to get my machine, it´s not so easy with smartphone..😉)
In Deutschland machen wir aus Respekt vor den Opfern der Nazis keine Hakenkreuze auf unsere Modelle.

2 Blade Prop and Underpowered.......
Underpowered? 🤦🏻♂️
Wow, great work with the refurb! Toward the end of the vid you commented that you don’t cover coat the weathering wash - wouldn’t it be best to clear cover after you wash to keep it looking great? Just trying to make my models better. Thanks
@@NerdSteve thanks for the comment! I appreciate it! Thank you for watching. My original plan was to flat clear the entire model. But what I have found through experience is that the Tamiya paint I yes holds up extremely well. It also allows the exhaust gas/oil residue to impregnate the paint making it look even more authentic. Just my two cents.
Quanto pesa? Apertura alare?
It weighs 39 pounds and has a 100” wingspan.
Looking good Chris! The shavings are better for your lungs than all the dust from sanding too!
They are!😂 Thanks!
Super schön😊
@@markusbollenbacher225 thanks!
Great refurb and vid. You have an awesome plane! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks a lot!
Wow, nice restoration! But 60cc on a 1/4 model? Isn’t that a bit underpowered?
One would think, but it is a powerful 60. Flies it quite scale.
@ nice 👍 I have a 1/4 scale Mustang, but it’s powered with a 3W 150 inline 🫣
@@HobbyLadan that’s a great engine!
Great job and nice flying.Congratulations
@@maestrimq thank you!
A really nice model of a Bf 109 G6, but the flaps are wrong.
Thank you. Yes, I’m totally aware on the flaps. Just didn’t want to put in the extra effort as it would require extensive rework.
I'm not very familiar with the flap on a 109. I've seen pictures where the inboard section is split and separated from the outer portion of the flap. How is it supposed to function?
You are a MASTER, thats for sure
@@GartenOHM thank you for the comment! I’ve been at this a long time, it’s such a great hobby!
