Can Dundon Make a 991.2 GT3RS & 718 GT4RS as fast as a 992 GT3RS? -Track Test
Stumbled upon this channel and this series just yesterday; I absolutely love it! Thank you very much, gentlemen
Would've been more honest if you had video of the Tach RPMs when inside with the 2 modified exhaust setups and not just the stock one. It seems you were at very low rpms with no load while videoing which could lead one to think the system is more tame than it is. One of the frequent complaints with aftermarket exhausts has to do with drone at certain rpms.
Manthey conversion need to pass eu regs. Extra downforce cannot increase drag as economy can't alter. Dundon stuff good, but don't need to meet regs. Also, removed my dundon stuff, as not warranty friendly in UK. Manthey is
I had a Dundon street system. Lifetime muffler was super solid.
In savage geese vid, stock gt4rs had track alignment. In addition, driver made a mistake on fast lap with manthey 4rs, so 1.5 sec was the correct laptime difference
What’s the laptime?
Any progress on 991.1 GT3 front splitter/wing? 😅
I Jane watched this so many times. Even visited Dundon couple months ago. Damn it. I will need to spend some $
hopefully u get a 992.2 GT3 early build in 2025 to R&D exhaust
I have a chassis with a fair amount of anti-properties and would like to dial it down a bit. When you decelerate with anti-properties and add a bit of steering angle, it makes the front end less compliant. You absolutely cannot decelerate and turn at the same time or it will immediately drag the inside front tire (I do not use ABS). The benefit of this setup is that it teaches you to brake during ideal conditions and makes you more defensive, but it doesn't forgive emergency maneuvers, and that's where I draw the line. Especially on gnarly cracked out pavement.
bring us the brilliance and excellence to 992.2 GT3 …. uncork the beast in 2025
This was so fuckin dope
How could this only have 810 views?! This is awesome - great production and great driving by the Grinch!
Merry Christmas to the entire Dundon gang! 🎅🏻🎄🏁
So fun to watch! Merry Christmas!!
crack pipe exhuast? cause gyaaat it sounds amazing
Yes sir…. Street headers and Mini crack pipe!
Great production on this video! I chuckled at the 3:15 gas pump gesture! Welcome to WA gas prices Mr. Grinch!
Wonderful video love it !! Merry Dundon Christmas to you all!!
You don’t know anything about how an engine works, do you?
I'm using sport cat headers on my 987.2 Cayman S as 2 HP doesn't make a difference in the real world. No OPF's back in 2010.
this is somewhat misleading because with same tires the 3rs is faster than the other 2 by 1s or so. still pretty cool that you can do all of this though
Can you guys do a more detailed discussion on the Cayman platform? Not all of us normies have GT 911’s
Yup ! I have a 2010 987.2 Cayman S 320 HP 3.4L, the Boxster has 310 HP and the 991.1 911 has 350 HP with the very same engine, and that replaced the 3.6L 345 HP stroked 3.4L that was in the 997.2 911. Needless to say my Cayman S doesn't have 320 HP anymore.
Is there a thing such as too much negative Camber?
There is, if when doing tire temps you find the inside edge is higher than the outside edge, you’ve got too much camber!
IDK if Mr.Kojima still has beef with me, but I would like to apologize for any misunderstanding or miscommunication my arrogance caused.
From your description I assume they also increase caster, so you could benefit from more dynamic camber correct? Great channel btw, I just subbed, cause there’s not many people on the net that know what they re talking about in regards to suspension. Keep up the great content
Now the gt4rs sucks and 997gt3rs 4.0 eat oil pumps as reported by many owners… 😂 Like Mike talk please… things go so much better then 👌🏾
very interesting and informative, but please stop interrupting Mike
🎯 Mike is the Man, and very good at articulating things where anyone can understand… no need to interrupt him or be a sounding board
The SWAG Method was used 🤔!
= the smart mouth with glasses so up himself = Mc Pherson struts are very effective ! WON LOT`s of rally`s = and great for working on and replacing ! not just CHEAP ! DUNDON KNOB HEAD
Ah yes the Dave point. I miss the SCC days
i just had a porsche mechanic from the dealership come by to do an initial check. he clicked off the hub covers (the porsche logo cap) -- there's a tool in the frunk to to that. then you'll see the info around the circumference in small lettering. he says it affects 36-23 to 49-23 and 5-24. then he hooked up his tablet to the car and downloaded some stuff. now they have my current mileage and he emphasized not to drive it. ugh.
Ugh indeed
Amazing series!
Pls add drag racing suspension for honda ek front drive, setup sir ty😅
Not sure if anyone else wants it 👎.
Good job guys!
Gold!
I love how the last comment I left on a motoiq article was laughing about OEMs using anti-geometry for whatever godforsaken reason and then I watch this.
Best in the business!!
Great episode! Really appreciated the insights into suspension geometry and handling. The breakdowns on anti-dive and anti-squat were super helpful. Thanks for the fantastic content! 🎇
Need a Dundon setup guide
Do you guys recommend going to full spherical on a multi-link rear suspension for track duties/racing? Or are you guaranteeing suspension bind to occur?
No binding should happen with properly designed parts (like ours). Whether or not we recommend going full spherical really depends on the specific application. On a 991.2 GT3 for example, removing all the rubber firms the rear of the car up and makes it very positive to drive on the track. It adds a bit of NVH on the street, but if you're only on the track it's a great improvement.
How many times this guy said yep, sure?
Is the manufacturing date that you can see in the back the same that you can see just removing the front cap (without the need to remove the center lock bolt)
They are written right on the front under the caps.... I'm not sure why we'd need to pull them off and flip them over.
@chrisnolke exactly. The only thing that makes me doubt about the same manufacturing date is that the back of the bolt and the black part have actually 2 different part numbers
Pull one off and look. Ours were different….
To keep combustion up top and lubricant down below.
This video would be great if the blokes on the left and right shut up or better yet, dont be in it
Is your mic connected?
Remember knock offs and wire wheels, better bring the leather headed hammer !
yup....yup yup..... yup
Possibly hot take: shorts suck, especially when they're just snippets of videos that have been out for weeks and your audience has probably already watched. If you want to do shorts, look at MotoIq. I still don't like their shorts from an interrace perspective (auto loop, no playback control), but at least their shorts are new bespoke quick tips.
Great information without giving away the heavy details/secrets.
