Beautiful journey, beautiful Scotland. 🇬🇧👍👍👍
Those carved stone coffins were used to bury folk straight under the church floor apparently. I’ve seen one similar at St Mary’s Churchyard, Whitby.
Thanks for the upload, it was a pleasure to watch
Blurred video
Tolles Rollmaterial.
As wonderful as this video is, it would be far more enjoyable if filmed in HD. What are the chances of an 'updated' video?
Rode this line first in 1981, in the cab of a class 27 engine with 4 coaches and my uncle driving, great run, then in 82 behind a class 37 and 6 coaches great beautiful run scenery is beautiful can't beat it , have travelled many times since,

How come this line escaped the BEECHING cuts of the 60s? A lot of rural lines which served large towns and villages were not so lucky
Excellent question. I suppose it's the only remaining line to the north west. Perhaps it was saved simply because of this.
It was because of the nuclear submarines base at faslane. There's about 4 ammo dumps around this line, not for student but mk 8s for the bomb shop in board the boats. They were there for quick access. I think there all shut now. I left the Royal Navy in 92 and mostly EVERYTHING has shut since then or contracted out to civvies. We only have 6 destroyers and 9frigates left with 2 LPDs, one of which is inactive and a replacement for my old ship hms intrepid. The 2 carriers don't have enough protection. The RN I'm sad to say couldn't protect the whole of the UK never mind anywhere else. We have patrol boats with 20/30 ml guns doing destroyers work and RFAs doing frigates work. It's pathetic.
Don't you dare fall offf hahahaa there are probably some idiots catching a buzz that might fall off This train ain't stopping !!! Weird to think there is a seperate crew to come along after hours to clean up all the corpses
Great. Loved the full speed before the Bridge of Orchy. Wonderfull keep them coming. Thanks Rmb
Great. I commuted as a schoolboy 70 years ago and remember rain and trees. There seem to be even more trees now. Very enjoyable to go over old haunts. Many thanks. Rmb
Great video! Spectacular countryside
Part of the World I'd never get to see, Love it, Thank You.

At 10:51 did he push a set of points open?
Spring points.
Yes, yes he did. Those are hydro-pneumatic points. You can see the blue and yellow boxes between the tracks. The points are set appropriately for facing movements. In the trailing direction the train's wheels push the points over and then the stored hydraulic pressure pushes them back again. The yellow light you can see on the right at 8:38 is a points indicator (the plate actually says 'points set' on it). It confirms that the points are properly set and safe to pass over. If that yellow light were out, or a red light (steady or flashing) would be displayed and the train would have to stop. The points can then be manually pumped over and clipped up. The signalling system is RETB (Radio Electric Token Block). It's designed to be low cost with minimal infrastructure and minimal staffing. All a bit of a shame to be honest
Just a pity we don’t get to hear people butchering the beautiful nane of places like Crianlarich
Great video... Superb scenery.
Enjoyed that video . Brought back good memories of own trip to Frankfurt & Koln . A very good video & one which highlighted the very best of German engineering . Would like to see more of these type of videos from Germany .
At 1:12:00 The" Wyldings" of Scotlands. The variable weather, landscape and topography are stunning. Thoroughly enjoyable ride. Thanks.
The moors and the heath, the sheep that doth... wait I thought I saw Kamala Harris and Joe Biden grazing among the tall grasses back there?

This always sends me off to sleep! Thanks for posting!😀
