Glasshouse mountains. Enduro riders paradise. Have to be one of the best places to test out a new Enduro bike. There are all levels of tracks in this areas. Ranging from easy flowing trails, To insane hard Enduro tracks and hill climbs. And everything in between. Ill be doing a full Bike Review after a few rides. As you will see on this first ride I definitely need some seat time. This bike is ...
The Jungle Part 3

Epic, ADV ride on enduro bikes. Hard enduro, thick jungle, spiky plants, slipery logs. OMG are we ever going to get out of this place. What happens if the track out is too steep, overgrown, Blocked or not even there. Did we take a wrong turn. Buggered if I know. Best watch and see what happens.
The Jungle Part 2

The Jungle that just keeps going. Its one of those tracks that is not that long but takes bloddy ages to get through. We are getting exhausted at this point we have been riding the hard stuff since early this morning starting at the Mintbush track. But the show must go on.

The Jungle after just doing Monkey gum. Lots of rocks again. creek beds, More burnt out cars, Hills, A few crashes. Phil and I Mow and bulldoze our way through very thick scrub, obstcials everywhere you look or cant even see. This track was seriouly overgrown. And would have been a great single track when it was cleared. Stay tuned for part 2 cause it does'nt stop here.

The Spur track after Billy Goats track is very steep and a lot more slippery. We find a crashed ute. Find lots of creek crossings. Missed a turn that I swear is hiding. And eventually find our way back to Dargo.

Hello, your videos are awesome.... what maps app are you using on phone please?
We have tried a few. But everyone i know has all moved to or only ever used GAIA. If going remote we always have a Garmin or similar as back up. These gps devices you would think should be accurate all the time they have enough satellites but we have been led up the garden path a few times as they tend to lack road and track detail.
Where you stop together the track to the right is called wombat flats 4wd heaven
Thats such a cool area to ride. I love all the big rocks. Are you a local ??
It's called Mint bush and runs into wombat flats
Thanks checked it out on the map. There seems to be so many more tracks in there than i can see. Is there any other maps showing all or most of the tracks ??
How ya finding rhe 3 hundy mate after coming off rhe 350
I love it for hard enduro. Its everything you could ask for. We are doing the Simpson next year. Ill take the 350. As it still has better fuel range and better to cruise on.
Would you do the Lynx again? I am thinking of getting one.
I would definitely look at all the options available as new products still coming out. But i love the Lynx. Its very functional. And the movable screen is great. Some of the tower unit allow mud and water spray to come up through the open sections on the side. The head light does not follow the steering. Im not a big fan of the tower units.
I can’t decide what to get. I like the Lynx but that Aurora Lite is absolutely gorgeous. I’m going for wind protection and gps mounting mostly. Going from a BMW 1200GS to a 701. Help me decide. Thanks for the video.
Your welcome. Mate glad my effort could help. Hope you love the 701
That harder stuff in the middle of your video, is there lots of that stuff in Glasshouse mountains?
Yes mate there is a very large supply of crazy single track. You can pick any level you like if you know where your going. Only problem is its possible to find yourself in an oh shit how do i get out of here moment. Especially if it rains at the wrong time.
Did you resolve the counter sproket seal leak? I resisted changing the OEM 15 tooth as I ve heard that the counter sprocket seal leaks with non OEM sprockets. I ended up going up 2 teeth on the rear instead which feels perfect. Also added a longer chain as the oem chain was too short with the larger rear sprocket but that also lengthened the swing arm / wheel geometry which adds to stability.
Seal replaced no problem. Most of the leak was from the starter o ring. And I have been running a 14 tooth on the front for well over a year and its been great. Equal to 3 teeth on the rear. Did you find much difference in changing the rear ??.
@@simovision5894 Yes, going up 2 teeth on the rear is similar to 1 down on the front. Now it has enough low down torque on single trail and cruises nicely in 6th on the HWY. Cracking bike but hopes it stay reliable.
Preventive maintenance is key with these bikes. Especially fuel filters
@@simovision5894 Agreed, but KTM is not Jap reliability. Had plenty of niggles to work through and this was a new 22 Gas Gas 700. I run a fuel sock and just checked the fuel screen in the fuel line last week and after 5000km, it was still clean. But also understand the that tank fuel filter does get dirty with the brushes from the pump motor and this needs to be checked and changed every 7000 to 10000KM. If you are looking for good KTM 690 information, check out Pirate racing. He is the 690 Guru.
Ahhh my old stomping grounds, back in the real old days ('70's-'80's) rode with locals Steve Cotteral, Stan Jorgenson and Troy Spedding. Still looks the same.
Yer Mark only thing that changes a bit is new tracks getting cut. Here and there. Only a few and mostly done well. There is some hard stuff in there that I'm going to tackle in a month or so. I broke the tendents on one of my fingers lifting the 300. So out for months. And I'm half way there. Hopfully be back in the next 5 weeks
What bike have you got I can here it's a 4 banger
Hi Peter Yes mate im riding a Husky FE350.
Looks really similar to the back of Coffs Harbour
@@markbollen8052 I have only ridden in Coffs once. The little bit I did was great. Mite get there again one day.
Curra state forest mate!
Yes mate Some in Curra some in Tuan state forest. I already did a few vids in Curra. So decided to call it Tuan. For somthing different.. cheers 🍻
Been riding these tracks since I was a teenager. Riding up the back of the lockout is a real struggle which the camera doesn’t show
That's great we normaly dont see many people on these tracks. Yes your right. That hill has multiple climbs some harder than others. Shame the steepness is lost on the camera. Cheers Brendon 🤙
Was watching thinking I recognise all this. In curra state forest at the Rodney 4
Yes the vid starts in Curra. Do you know any history with Rodney ??.
@@simovision5894 no history sorry. We ride from mx farm area through to anderleigh rd and over to around Gardner rd. Many of great tracks. Lots of single tracks through out aswell
@@brendomow1001 Thanks. I can't find any info on it. I have done a few singles in there. Im sure there mite be a few sneaky ones I have not found yet.
Looks like a ball mate
Yes for sure. And i bet we can find some other good spots as well. Cheers mate. 🍻
Your making the new girl dance.....if I could be so bold....you like it better for the single and bushwacking stuff..... Garth
Yes mate its a great bike for the singles. And a dream at log jumping. I recently lernt the correct skills to jump logs and it has somwhat thrown me off a bit. But im going to keep makeing myself do it correctly. So i can go bigger. 😁
i usually head straight to Imbil when going to Brisbane from Rockhampton but will be having a look here next time.Nice,
If you look up THE MX FARM. It backs onto Curra state forest. You can enter in multiple spots very close to the farm. And the Back of Glenwood backs onto Tuan state forest. Give it a go.
🤣 nice video mate 🙃👍
Hey thanks Jeff. Hope you have been out giving the DR a workout.
The guy on the KLX you need to keep momentum and learn to keep your feet on the pegs and stand up
Thanks mate ill be sure to let Jas know. He is a ex Trials rider so he knows better. But he is just getting back on a dirt bike with over a 10year break so we may have to cut him a bit of slack. 😉
waaaaay out of my league them hills 😮keep well and ride safe-ish mate 😉🍺
Narrr you just need a bit of practice.
@simovision5894 🤣🤣a BIT , more like a Hell of a lot 🤣👍🏻
I personally prefer a 2 stroke for climbing ......that fire every stroke gives a better power, and with the quickness of reving , with a little clutch finesse....they are magic on a hill. Great work...betcha the 2 stroke will become your favorite ride now. Garth
So far yes the 300 is my absolute favorite for technical riding. If I was doing a longer trail ride the 350 would be a lot better. Like when we did Kroombit tops ride for the 2nd time. Its more of an adventure bike ride. But I took my 350. It was great for most of it. Untill we hit bitumen. The 300 does not have the fuel range. And not as good to cruise on. And this is why I have so many bikes :-)
Flanny body armor is no help apparently. Great video, thanks.
Ha ha ha so very true.
Not the type of Bush that you wanted to be stuck in!
Man i was hoping like hell we could get out before dark. And half the time you were freaking out that you weren't even on the right track.
Good to know you roughly know where your going......it does look very roughly....all those trees look the same......famous last words....dear, just going for a quick 1/2 hour ride. My wife knows that she will see me 4 hrs later. Can't wait for next video.....what a place to plant a tree..... Garth
Ha ha it never goes for 1/2 hr 🤣 😄.. We managed to fumble our way through. Some good tracks. So many we did not have time to do. Next vid is all the Hill climbs. Should be good. Good to see your wife just knows 4hrs is the minimum. 😁
Sick mate subbed! love the husky 2 stroke keep ripping.
Thanks mate appreciate it. I do have some cool rides booked in for the next few months. Some hard enduro tracks hopfully if my hand is upto it.
See you next ride
Hey Mate for sure. Have you got any other cool tracks. ??
I think my days of that sort of riding are over, but fun to watch. Yes, lean to get them past emissions. I watched the Curra vid, & wondered if you had added a fan in yet. Have a KLX400e and will eventually add one. Even though, I now avoid riding on hot days. Cheers
Yep I have added a fan. But funny enough riding in green map it has not come on at all. I think the white map is just to lean. Hard Enduro can be so much harder when its very hot. Much better in winter. Thanks 👍
Pity the camera dropped. Had a ride with my son a year or so ago, He lives a k away Brayds Rd. Funny, I recognize the first few k. We got caught in a loop too early in the ride. Way too many branchings, I exhausted myself on a steep rocky climb, & got my hand jammed against a sapling. New to me bike. So it was a short ride. Now you got me looking for the hole. Good mixing of footage 👍
Hey thanks dont worry i think the dozer filled in the hole. You should be fine. We still dont know why the Rodney signs are in the Forest. If you do cause i cant find any history on it. ??
Rodney! Who the hell is Rodney are why are you trying so hard to find him?
Ive tried reserching this and found absolutely no information. The old timber signs in the forest are still there we have found signs that say Rodneys and Rodneys 4 both signs are within about 100mt of a creek. Not sure if thats somthing. And there is a Rodney's rd in Curra. But i cant seem to find anything on history search on that either. So i dont know. ???
7:27 bloody yowies mate, they get up to everything 👋🤠👍
Ha ha good one Cliff. A Yowie named Rodney. I like it 👌
I have a te 150 2024 and it was running to lean. Defect from factory I was told. The piston was falling apart and it needed a full top end rebuild. Husqvarna were great at fixing it and I wasn't charged for it.
Wow thanks. Could be the case with mine as well. Only I now run in Green mode only however I will get the mapping checked on the 15hr Dealership service. Cheers 🍻
@simovision5894 My bike unfortunately only last 5 hours before fouling the plug with gearbox oil that was getting past the piston
Is that fixed now ??
@simovision5894 yeah, running awesome now
😮 well out of my riding ability 😒but you are killing it 🙃👍well done 😁
Thanks Jeff. Pratice makes perfect. So best i do alot more pratice. I think we are going to do alot more crazy stuff on this bike.
Your getting the clutch work down....I personally think you put that 13 on the front and a 2 stroke will go further than a 4......Great work.....add a chainsaw to it and your unstoppable! Garth
Giday Garth I was actually waiting to see how you liked that one. 😁 Thanks mate. 13 tooth sproket is going on this morning. Hope to get out next week. My dislocated finger is still swollen. So no riding this weekend. Sad i know. 🤙
looked like a top ride on the new 2banger
Thanks mate. Every ride it feels better and better.
Do you think I'd get a crf 125 with motocross tyres through there . I done all the others 20 yeas ago on XR 600 What track does it exit onto thanks .
This actually exits onto the top of Monkey Gums last rocky hill climb. And yes a crf125 would get through there no problem. Xr600 awesome bike. I have a XR650R Love them just hate kick starting them. 😉
Bike malfunction would be bad half way through that .
MATE OMG i did think that once while we were doing it. That would have been one hell of a bad day thats for sure. 😱 Thanks 👍
I'd feel a bit more confident with a small hand winch just in case . And water and headlight Fuel .
Yes well that was one hell of a ride that's for sure. Make sure you watch all 3 episodes. Winch would be comforting if you were on your own. But with 2 people and a rope as back up its normaly fine. Check out my Bellthorpe vid. We had to break out the rope on that one And thanks you just reminded me i need to fix that headlight. Cheers mate 🍻
Some sort of small hand winch might be handy your getting out no matter what .
Its not the first time that has been suggested. And if not for weight it may one day be an option. There is 2 wheel driven bikes out there. Never seen one in the flesh. But would be cool to give one a go.
nice! did you have a 4T before? how do you compare them? I’m on the market for a new husky, totally undecided between 300 (never had one) or a usual 350 (possibly 450/500)
Mate check out some other vids on my channel i have ridden a 350 for a few years now. Just thought i would give the 2 stroke a crack. But as for which one well that depends on the riding you want to do.
You need to trade it on a 4 stroke mate. It's pretty clear that you are disappointed.
Bhaaaa give it time. But dont worry I have a few 4 strokes as well. 🤘 cheers 🍻
nothing like a power stroke every time that piston goes down....smooth low end grunt....love them, so hard to find one now a days . My best 2 stroke was a 74 Kawasaki F9 Big Horn....geared down 350 cc of snorting, fire breathing wheelie king and house puller. Loved it. It is a different feeling of using clutch to control speed..... great ride.... Garth
Hey Garth. I just looked up a F9 Big horn. Would have been the ducks nuts back in the day. I used to ride a 1978 KE175 back in the 80's. Cool old bike and when I remember back to how the old twin shocks handled. Well man put it up against the new 300. And OMG how do you even compare. I do remember getting bucked around by the sheer lack of rear suspension. Brings back some great memories. Thanks for that.
a lot more confident on this ride, Steve is a good instructor calm and encouraging…so what was the change, using a gear higher than the 4T and clutch….also it might be worth running a lower seat for this type of bike n riding…. look forward to the next installment 👍
Yes definitely got to run a gear up. Clutch is nice to use. And i just put a GUTS seat on. Getting more used to it now. Thanks.
You were talking about different track bro there is a bridge track and that bridge is used in the dunny track when it is muddy in there
Hey Jimmy. Thanks for that. Where in relation to the dunny track is the bridge track. Still finding my way around in there. ?
@@simovision5894 bridge track is about 4/5 k from dunny but all good have you found zig/zag and cathedrell yet or rattle snake or funnel web need to take you for a run one day
OMG I don't think I have found any of those yet. Its possible I may have ridden them but don't think so. Yes please take me for a ride out there one day.
You sold the bike better in this video. And now you have to beat that hill.
Thanks Dale. Yes ill have to go back and sort that hill out for sure. Bit slippery this weekend.
Just got myself a 2024 KTM 300 hopefully get to check out Glasshouse soon! Awesome vid!
Thanks mate. Your going to love your new bike. Glasshouse will be a slop fest this weekend. Hopfully dries out for next weekend. Great riding out there
Interesting, I've just gone back to a 350 4 stroke. I'm keeping my Sherco for the rally hard stuff but for the most part the 350 is way easier and faster for general riding. The 2 stroke will feel like an arranged marriage for the first 10hrs.
I love it (arranged marriage) that sums it up about right. And yes at this point ill keep the 350. Thinking mite take it across the desert.
I made a similar switch to a 300tpi after riding 450s for 14yrs. I had similar reactions to yours and wondered if i made the right decision, however after a 20 hours i was loving it and after 50 hours i never want to go back
Thats great. I have put 5 engine hrs on now. 2 rides and absolutely loving it. Getting a lot more feel for it thats for sure. Cheers 🍻
Have had 3 of these bikes and wouldn’t get anything else. Ride up a gear and use the clutch more
Thanks mate appreciate it. The more i ride it the more i love it.
I had a 2016 husky 300 and sold it for a 250 ktm best decision i ever made that 5 kgs is a huge difference plus power is more usable great vid man 🇦🇺🤙
@@joeuno4399 Yes the 250 reves out more. So Better for trails and mx. The 300 is better for hard enduro. Lugging up steep hills. And slower technical riding. I did concider the 250 but really wanted to cross train my Trials riding. Glad your loving the 250. As long as there is a smile on your face that's all that really matters 😁😁
@simovision5894 ive got supermotos on it ATM but it was beautiful in the trails and less gear changing due to it being a 5 speed
@@joeuno4399 love the supermoto. Very cool. Just got to dodge cars.
Can you ride at the glasshouse without rego plate and indicators?
Legally probably not.. my bike is registered. Just had to wait for my paperwork to get processed. Also my click and ride indicators are on backorder. Should be sorted soon.
