A Special Year at Edinbane Lodge
มุมมอง 4635 ปีที่แล้ว
Renovated and restored in 2017 this historic Highland Hunting Lodge on the Isle of Skye opened it's doors in August 2018 as Casual fine dining restaurant. This is the story of our first year. A brief but happy moment in time for the 475 year lodge.
I wish I wrote the song for the band.
Part of my High School soundtrack…I wore this album out. These lyrics get truer and truer and I get older.
He is my favorite songwriter along with my son in laws band Gaslight Anthem lead singer Brian Fallon amazing writer❤
I was absolutely in love with Hm ❤
What a brilliant song. Thank you.
I like the Joan Baez rendition a lot too
Wonder who he was talking about?
I love his music, it’s the only music that’s ever reached down to my soul and challenged my spiritual beliefs without telling me what to do.
I missu Already
I mias already
about joni mitchell, who went full bitch later. so he was being generous towards her
I was taken by a photograph of you
Brilliant song thank you Jackson I love all your stuff but this is my favorite
There are so MANY masterpieces with this man.
Any idea who the background singer is?
Legend!
As I keep getting to discover new Jackson songs (to me at least) his continued ability to articulate (often my) emotion so well destroys me and revives me simultaneously. Not enough credit to the introduction either
What a masterpiece! Jackson is an underrated song writer.
Mark Goldenberg's guitar work is perfect, and is an example of true musicanship: know when to play, and when not to play!
The whole package. What else needs to be said?
Best ever and love his honesty about it years later!😊
This was one of my long term partner, Nancy's, favorite songs. She died yesterday, we shared so much great music such as this....
I bet she wishes she'd taken up with JB now...
magnifiek !!!!
This song IS a masterpiece. Such beautiful chord changes. Too bad he got political. He just turned into a borish and grumpy old man. Typical boomer. They spent their youth raging against the machine, then they became the machine. Also, this version is kinda sucky and definitely missing the David Lindley vibe.
Take your resentment and misery elsewhere.
Don't know if anyone remembers an old department store named J.M. Fields, but I purchased "Late for the Sky" there, and the Checkout girl implored me to listen to this song. Never got her number, and I'm sadder for that.
Who is the babe back up singer?
😇GVB.❤
Piano is out of tune
Wow such a fabulous song. Loved it when I bought the album when it came out. One of my favorite songs of all times. Thank you, Jackson . ❤❤❤
All his songs move me.
Don’t wait until you feel comfortable. Don’t wait until you have it all figured out. Don’t wait until you retire. Don’t wait until everything is perfect. Don’t wait until you have the approval of others. Our time here is finite. You don’t want to run out of time and be filled with “what if’s” and serious regrets. This is your one precious life, spend time cultivating a friendship with yourself knowing who you are, what you want, and how you can live your life fully. You are worthy. Your life today is THE something special.
Nothing like Jackson ever
Awesome song. Love his words.
Hello Ann 💙
I like when Jackson says how sometimes you can remember all the good stuff and all the bad stuff. That’s how I am since I have an excellent memory.
That harmony part is SPOT on:)
Was this about Nico or someone else?
Joni Mitchell
Who's the backup singer?
Love, Jackson Browne I have been so in love with this Man since I was 13💕
Just beautiful.
I love the studio version of this song. But this uptempo version with rich musical accompaniment kicks it up a notch - my preferred version.
This live version of Fountain of Sorrow is definitely his best song and the very best version - Mark Goldenberg's lead guitar frames it all together - listen to this version against Jackson's official album version and there's no comparison - the ending of that one- without a strong lead guitat- just dies- and he tries too hard on his vocals at the end of each lyrical phrase. This live version knocks it out of the park and SHOULD be his official verson.
I think the original solo by David Lindley is more melodious.
🥰
I'm just one or two years and a couple of changes behind you in my lessons at love's pain and heartaches school. Classic!!
I know that trace of sorrow
Any song with emotion may bring a tear; however, his can make you ache a little, like you were there. That is rare.
I’ve gone back and forth on Joni Mitchell. On the one hand, she’s a good song-writer, albeit pretty twee and corny at times, but her voice kills me. I always cared more for the writing anyway, but after reading about Joni and Jackson I just can’t listen to her. She was so cruel in response to him being so kind and understanding. I’ll stick with Judee sill for great female songwriters starting with a J.
When you see through loves illusion there lies the danger. So true.
Hard to beat a good Jackson Browne, and this is one of his best!
We wish your band be here in Vancouver BC and see you again!
