is photoshop cs3 one of the older versions? I looked through its features and didn't see anything about pen pressure with tablets so it may not have been available when photoshop cs3 was released.
How to remove the switch ?
if your board is hot-swappable, you can just use a switch puller or your fingers to take them out if your board is not hot-swappable, you'll have to take it apart and desauder the switches (i would suggest looking up a tutorial, i've never done this myself)

What if I want only the width of the brush to vary? And NOT the opacity? I have this problem where my brush(when using Pen Tab) strokes get darker if they overlap. Somehow if I'm using a mouse it's just solid.
If you want to change the width only, use roundness jitter. For the opacity thing, the opacity of your brush might be lower than 100% or if are using a color it could be on multiply mode. Hope this helps!
@@prismatic_glow7982 It is 100% already but I still had problems. If I made a stroke with the mouse, it is solid, but with pen, it is not. What fixed it for me was deactivating "pressure controls the opacity" button or something like that.

My hardness setting just turned off is there a way to get it back on
the "shape dynamics" box might have gotten unchecked, try clicking on it and you should be able to change the hardness.
