Hiking the Beaten Path was a Lifelong Dream
มุมมอง 1.4K2 ปีที่แล้ว
Born and raised in Billings Montana, Vern Poehls always dreamed of hiking a trail called The Beaten Path. The Beaten Path is a combination of two trails, Russell Creek Trail and East Rosebud Trail. Throughout his childhood, Vern had spent time at both ends of the trail but never hiked all the way through. At seventeen he decided he wanted to backpack the whole trail but wasn't able to make it a...

With home prices skyrocketing in Arizona there's beginning to be a lot of frustration, especially with buyers who have been priced out of the market. I'm sharing how I helped my clients sell their home for $100,000 (20%) over the list price and what it means for the housing market, especially Chandler and Gilbert. We Made It - Machu Picchu Vlog Day 7
มุมมอง 4362 ปีที่แล้ว
Last day on the Inca Trail we finally made it to our destination...Machu Picchu. Four days and three nights of some of the most amazing places I've ever hiked made arriving at Machu Picchu a little surreal, like were we even there?!? It was all amazing but the time at Machu Picchu was so short in comparison to the days on the trail. All of the exhaustion, sore legs, hurting feet, not being able...
It's like being Indiana Jones - Machu Picchu Vlog Day 6
มุมมอง 1452 ปีที่แล้ว
Day three of the hike was by far my favorite day. Not because it was easy...it wasn't. I love it because I felt like I was in an Indian Jones movie. The rain forest growing over old Incan buildings and encroaching on the path paved with granite stones. I was waiting for a giant boulder to come rolling down the path at any moment! Exhausting and exhilarating all at the same time and the day ende...
The Guide Said I Might Die - Machu Picchu Vlog Day 5
มุมมอง 1582 ปีที่แล้ว
Nothing like your guide saying maybe when you ask if you're going to die! Seriously though, this was one of the toughest things I have ever done. The elevation gain...twice...and the altitude definitely forced me to dig deep. I am such a firm believer that we are capable of so much more than we think, because I've done it! This was the second day of four hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. W...
I Didn't Think I Would Make It - Machu Picchu Vlog Day 4
มุมมอง 1452 ปีที่แล้ว
Picked up at 4:30am and already not feeling very good was not the best way to start one of the most grueling physical adventures I've ever done. By lunchtime, the altitude and heat knocked me down and I was unable to get my heart rate below the 120s.
A Llama Stampede and NYE is Cancelled
มุมมอง 982 ปีที่แล้ว
Time to acclimate and check out Cusco! We visited Saqsaywaman where the local Llama population seemed a little skittish. We learned later that Saqsaywaman was much more beautiful and bigger than Machu Picchu but the Spanish tore it down and used the stones to build their catholic churches...seen in the town square. Also, due to COVID, the New Years' Eve celebration was canceled...but is that go...

As we begin to wrap up 2021 we are taking a look back at the hottest topic of the housing market…inventory! Like most things there is not just one reason our housing inventory has been so low. This week on the Valley Market Update we are taking a look at the four primary factors causing this housing shortage in Arizona. Even though inventory is low there are still homes for sale…check them out ...

I got strange looks when I wore my hiking boots and backpack with weights in it on the stairmaster at the gym.
Absolutely! So did I but you'll be cooler than everyone at that Gym when you've hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu!!
How long was your training?
I had been on a self supported 3 day backpacking trip with a 50lb pack in the summer so I just kept up with my fitness for the next 4 months and then about 6 week before Peru I started working out specifically on the stair machine to prep myself for all of the stairs on the Inca Trail. It was good enough..
Hi Jeremy, nice video - I'm planning a trip here in January 25, was it relatively quiet with tourists? Thanks
we went 2 years ago when there were still Covid restrictions and before much of the civil unrest of early last year. So, I don't expect my experience will be helpful to you at all 🙃
Theres a pull tool.
Correct alot of damage if left untreated AND as this is Phoenix and people typically don't take care of their homes here and they lie as a norm, there will be damage.
It is illegal to fly drones in any wilderness area - including the Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness Area.
I also grew up in Billings and have been hiking the The Beaten Path since the early 1980's. I have done it 11 times now and it never gets old. The last seven times video cameras were available in a backpackable size, so I have tried to capture this beautiful hike as many times and I know how difficult it is. There is nothing like being there and nothing seems to do it justice. However your video is beautifully done and comes as close as any I have seen. I love the wide format and spectacular shots of all those places I know so well. I loved this so much I watched the whole thing in full 4K on a big monitor to capture every bit if it. Congratulations on a very well done video. Next year hopefully I will be doing it again at age 66, but I have a long way to go to break my moms record, she did it at 71. We do it in seven days, four days of hiking and three of playing and exploring. Consequently I have learned a lot of the off trail secrets of this special place, but there are always more to find.
That is awesome. I totally agree, the video doesn't do it justice. Those massive granite cliffs that rise up all around you...you just can't fathom it without being there. Thanks for the encouragement, I appreciate it.
Nice job! Getting the old ones out can be really awful. That's part of the reason they changed the design slightly and eliminated the o-ring gasket at the back of the cartridge (it really collects calcification). Good to note that Moen will replace these (and provide new handle assemblies) for life, for the original owner of the fixtures. If you bought a new house with Moen fixtures, you qualify!
In hindsight, what would you have changed about your training? I'm heading down in Oct to do this.
Honestly not much, maybe starting training a little sooner. My biggest problem was getting sick shortly after arriving in Cusco. I think that and the heat is what almost did me in the first day. The best thing I did to prepare was working out on the stair climber. The entire 2nd day and most of the 3rd was basically just stairs, steep stairs, the whole way. I'd take my ipad with a movie loaded on it, wear my hiking boots and the clothes I was planning on wearing turned on the machine and settled in for a 2+ hour climb. I did that about 10 times preparing and that helped a ton.
what size screw driver to use in removing screw in handle adapter?
Just did mine tonight and seeing this video. Not sure the allen wrench size but mine was a star bit not an allen wrench. It was a pain in the neck to remove that valve out of the valve body.
Thank you this was very helpful video even if you struggled a bit it’s good to see it could be difficult coming out and just have patience so not to break then you have more problems 😅
glad it helped.
Don’t forget about Buckeye on the west side .
Thanks, I really needed this video as the directions are not clear enough for my simple mind.
Glad it was helpful!
No mention of water supply? Ducey hid the report on water shortages. it's gonna be bad.
Hi... I did this cartridge installation today... however, now when I turn on the water it's hot first, half way turn is warm and all the way counter clockwise it's cold water. It should be the other way around. Cold first, warm, and then hot. Did I put the cartridge in upside down??? 🤔
Yes I think so...it's also possible the water lines going to the valve were installed on the wrong side. either way turning the cartridge 180 degrees should fix it.
Too many people here and way too much crime . Don’t forget about all the 1000s of illegals flooding across the Southern boarders of Az daily. I don’t think people realize there is a water situation in the southwest ? And yes that means Arizona , I would be concerned if I was buying a property right now in a new development. You wouldn’t want to get stuck in a dumpster fire if the markets crashes in Az.
👌
Lol nice shirt! I should own one! "Dont follow me.. i do stupid things" nice video btw.
he's a "brave" dude. at 68 he still mountain bikes a few times a week! Thanks for watching!
Incredibly beautiful
it absolutely was!
This was truly an epic adventure!
These people are fucking insane! There are already way too many people living in Arizona as it is and the rate these shit bag developers are going there isn't going to be any desert left in Arizona. The politicians and city planners have to be getting some kind of kickback from these developer. I would much rather look at farm land, deserts, forests, then to see cardboard shit box houses with giant bath tubs in the back yard on every fucking corner. These scum bags have destroyed the quality of life in Arizona and turned this place into a California cesspool.

I miss Peru and the good energy you feel in cusco is something you can't describe you have to be there to understand it.... i went for a few weeks and stayed for 3 wonderful years
Wonderful insight! Have been waiting on this. When do we contact the builders to potentially buy!
They have not broken ground yet. If you want to send me your contact info I can let you know as soon as they start selling. send your contact info to jeremy@jeremypoehls.com
Hi Jeremy! I just bought a new build out in A off of Goldfield and southern. Is this good news for me?
Congrats on the new build and Yes!! More development and infrastructure nearby will make Goldfield less in the middle of nowhere! It'll be closer to employment and thus not a far of a commute.
Way to go!
Thanks!
What an amazing adventure...and praise God for memories made!
Many great memories were made, as well as some not so fun ones.
Wow! This is so cool, thanks for creating such a scenic video with your family!!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
That laugh though😂
I start to wheeze when I really get laughing. My younger friends think its super funny.
I like it, it makes me laugh too
SOULCON men's ministry has changed my life, and I have become a much better man because of it. The discipline and the community has made me more focused on the man God created me to be. My wife loves the changes she has seen, and I feel closer to her than I have ever been before. God gets the glory, but SOULCON is the tool He used!
That's awesome to hear Kevin. Thanks for sharing your experience
I was glad to hear how excited you are about the future and how you don't seem to have regrets. It's good to know someone so bold in faith.
I'm glad that excitement came through. I truly regret nothing because I look at every decision and situation as an opportunity to learn or grow. My signature on non professional emails is "A loyal man of fearless faith"
Nice skills! Trail looks great...
Thanks! 👍
Just subbed, about to check out some of your other videos! I think that you deserve way more views! Do you know of smzeus . c o m??? You could use it to help get your videos higher in the search results!
You did not take into account legal fees and real property transfer tax that can work up to 2.5% of the property value. That brings your cost to about 8.25%. If you include the number of days the property has to go on the market, and the resulting interest costs on mortgage payments, utility bills, taxes, etc... I would argue that the costs to list with a real estate broker are way higher than ZOO. I am not even counting staging costs, etc.
Thanks for the comment. What state are you located in and do you work in the real estate industry? You are correct that I didn't include some of the transactional closing costs like Title Insurance, property taxes, HOA transfers, etc. Most closing costs are the same whether you sell to ZOO or a traditional buyer which is why I did not include them. In the state of Arizona there are no additional legal fees. Many owners that sell to ZOO don't take advantage of a quick close, and thus days on market are not dramatically different. Also, in the current Phoenix market most homes go under contract within a few days. Finally, the price point of homes ZOO purchases are rarely professionally staged and if they are it is very minimal. Expensive staging costs are usually associated with higher end homes. I speak from experience that my sellers have more money in their pocket at the end of the transaction than selling to ZOO. In some cases substantially more! Again, thanks for the feedback!
I still love the cranberry jelly that comes out of the can! I also enjoy green bean casserole.
😂😂😂
Hoping the series will be as educational as this was funny 😉😉👍
Just visited soulcon website for the first time. I was quite interested, untill I saw the skull. Put me off..
Tom Dutch I can see how that might but find out the meaning behind it and then you will understand the power behind the imagery. It’s a great ministry for men!
@@jeremypoehls So what is the meaning? I can't imagine Jesus, Peter or Paul walking around with such a logo? A skull? A snake? A sword?
Skull: Reminder to die to ourselves daily. It is not thru us but in Christ we are saved Green Beret: Elite soldier for Jesus Christ. Fighting constantly the war on sin. Fork: Put down the fork that feeds our flesh. Unhealthy food/drink, impure thoughts, idols, etc... Cross: Pick up our cross daily to follow God. We need his direction on our life to fully honor him in our walk.
@@jeremypoehls Snake?
The explanations are great but personally I would never associate myself with such a logo.
Awesome Market Update Update Jermey! I am hoping for the best!
Thanks Zach. What part of the country do you live in?
Tip: Buckeye was the #1 fastest growing city in the United States just last year, I believe it's still in the TOP 5. Dah! Shocking you do not know this? www.buckeyeaz.gov/Home/Components/News/News/1372/18?backlist=%2F
House Hunters I was aware of that, for the purposes of this video and to keep it as short as possible (still not very short😂) I didn’t talk about it.
Great ride
It was!
Well done! Excellent explanation!
Glad you liked it, luckily the information has held up over the last 20 months
