I hope you enjoy my trip on this very scenic route in the Shenandoah National Park in Virginia. I ca easily recommend staying at the Low Water Bridge Campground. I have no affiliation with them but I found them to be very nice people that are taking care of their business. lowwaterbridgecampground.com/ Thanks!

First trip of 2023! Taking the Triumph Scrambler 1200XE Trout Fishing in Pennsylvania!!
Nice. I just question the top box on the Triumph rack. They say the weight capacity is just over 6lbs. I saw someone put a box on theirs and it cracked the welds on the rack from going over bumps, and Triumph wouldn't warranty it. Seems oddly low considering people want to add a rack in order to carry luggage. The Unit Garage one carries a bit more, so does the GIVI rack. This one looks nice though and has good grab handles.
yes.... i have seen the same thing but it was after i had put the box on mine. I have been in some rough terrain with the top box on with much more weight than is recommended and have not had an issue yet. So i must just be lucky or the quality control process is a bit lacking
I can't stop looking back at mine either, ha. Dealers not caring about small issues like brake lines, isn't a Triumph thing, it's just likely an individual(s) who is busier with "more important" issues at the dealership. The discolored brake line probably isn't even on their radar. The paint flaking off the side cover is interesting. They actually sell the chrome ones separately too which people buy to dress up their cruisers. You wouldn't paint chrome though, because the paint wouldn't stick, hence why it's probably flaking. Maybe it's a planned thing since they sell various Triumph case covers to change your style. You could buy a black one, and sell yours as chrome. I just bought the "Triumph Motorcycles" ones for mine. I think they look better than the shiny round silver spot on the side of each engine case. Too many random silver pieces clutter the engine area, IMO.
Nice bike. I thought the XEs came with heated grips?
@goaheadskinit thanks! To my knowledge the 2019 model came with heated grips then they dropped that for the rest of the models moving forward. Someone may know more than I do and could correct me. Appreciate your watching
Guys, check the clutch cable at the headlight.the wire keeper wore thru the black cover down to the metal allowing water to enter.take it off the clutch lever and cover with heat shrink 3/8 inch or 9.5 mm.i doubled it up.
Dude , I absolutely love it . I've had a Triumph Tiger 1200 and a KTM 890 Adventure R. I wasn't considering an "Adventure Motorcycle " again until i discovered this bike. I also did not know of its existence until recently. I instantly fell in love with the look. It's great to see that you as well are realistic about its offroad potential. I subscribed to your channel so that I can come back and re-watch this video. I'm currently pumped to get rid of my Indian Scout Rouge and replace it with this more versatile machine. I'll be back to review your video soon. I live on the west coast of Canada, I believe I'll mode mine just as you have. Looks to me like the perfect camping set up . Cheers 🍻
@KyleMerritt-4 I appreciate that. Thanks for the comment, view and follow. 🤘
Cool video man. I'm also testing my osmo action 4 with the mic 2. Still struggling to get clear audio from the engine. I only enabled the wind noise cancelling function and it worked fine at low speed (35 mph). But as I sped up a little bit there came the weird whistling-like noise and echo-like noise. Thinking I might need to set the gain to fix it.
@kevinlee9425 thanks. I hear what your saying. I've actually been to busy to get out and try some different testing, but I'm hopeful to get out this weekend. I would be interested to hear how your testing goes.
@@scrambler_adventures hey man, I tested it again with : 1.noise canceling Disabled, 2.TX Gain -2, 3.monted outside of my backpack, 4.the mic firmware updated The result sounded way better than my first attempt. th-cam.com/video/zof_R-j7WIM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=x7EwjKOKAvSz6f90 even at the end of my video the exhaust pops are clear. Let me know if you have any update on the mic use. cheers
Mic sounds good, but I'd like to hear it without the noise cancelling, it with less if it's not just on/off. There were some odd noises. I think most viewers will tolerate some wind noise if we can hear the engine clearly.
I appreciate the feedback. yes, there are some adjustments that can be made but i wanted to show what it was like "out of the box". i literally connected the bluetooth, put it in my helmet and recorded. Looking forward to getting it set up correctly.
I was travelling on my bike and there was a group of guys talking about Corbin seats. I wasn’t even part of the conversation. This was just yesterday and TH-cam recommends your video? lol
@@Coreythedad the devices are always listening!!!
Very nice review of your bike
@@TheRonzzo I appreciate that
That flutter 4:58 is the fuel injection. The more miles you put on, the quieter the flutter gets. I have 17,XXX miles on my 1200XE, and the noise is negligible…also, you chose one of the best LOUD motorcycles out there 😆. My concern immediately is cooling…that sound deadening is going to keep all that bottom end heat trapped down there. Seems like a L trade off IMO. Ride on!
Last bike I bought a beemer for practical reasons… this time I bought a scrambler for the heart, and you know what… it’s a good old fashioned motorcycle. Flat seat, classic looks, with all the good tech for safety… doesn’t look like a transformer, great engine etc etc… great do it all bike!
Enjoy the ride!!
Thank God my wife smiles every time she throws a leg over it heeeeyyyyy
Bought a nex XE yesterday here in Italy; the dealer said i should have it for the end of May. i traded in a 2016 triumph explorer XCX 2016, which is a great but huge and heavy bike. to say the truth i did not test ride it the Scrambler but i own a bonneville bobber with the same 1200 unit and it is a great engine; lots of torque, sounds awesome too.
Awesome! Enjoy the new bike. I'm sure the wait will seem to take forever!
I've had half a dozen Bonneville based Triumphs in the last few years here in the UK. Wishful thinking if you expect Triumph to honour warranty claims, they're infamous for not responding to them. I don't even bother now.
Nice video, I also have a triumph luggage rack which I think claims not to exceed 7lbs or so, did you find when you mounted the aftermarket plate to the tiumph rack if that supported more weight and if so, whats the approx weight of the topbox and its contents? I think that 7lbs is lawyers talk but I could be wrong, haha Thanks
hey... thanks for watching. im not gonna suggest anyone disregards what the manufacturer states, but i am in agreement with you and havent had any issues with weight(yet). i would say my total weight on t is around 20lbs. i dont believe the aftermarket plate affected anything, it just was a mounting point for the top box.
Yep, I test rode one a few weeks ago here in Dallas, TX. (March of 2024) I put a $500 deposit down on the XE, and have been waiting impatiently ever since.
Your gonna love it! Grats
Can you remove the topbox or is it permanently fitted ? It’s a motea one right ?
May I ask what Topbox do you use ? Just will get my new scrambler 1200 XE 2024 in one week:)) Greetings from Germany Andy
That's awesome you're getting a 2024. Congratulations. As for your question, I don't have the exact link to where I bought it at Amazon but here is the description:"Visit the SUERBEATY Store 4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 38 Black Motorcycle Tail Box, Aluminum Motorbike Storage 45L Rear Top Box Case Luggage Trunk (USA Stock". And I have ridden many miles with it and my wife. She prefers having it on. Thanks
What topbox do you use ? And did you do a test ride with pillion ? How did that worked out :)
G,day.. I've had an issue with the rear of the frame cracking from the weight of the top box, the rear loop from shockie to shockie where the rack bolts on.. i hope it doesn't happen for you..
thanks. ill keep an eye on it.
Do you have a link for the oil or the filter to buy on Amazon? Thanksss
here is where I bought the filter on amazon: a.co/d/4PTUIJA as for the oil, I buy it at a auto store called Advance Auto. Im not sure where you are in the world if this is a place available to you.
@@scrambler_adventures thank you so much
I was looking into getting a scrambler and was wondering sbout setups for the outdoors, dude you do it and make it look clean!
I appreciate that. Good luck with yours
As you said bro, there is no "perfect" bike just the perfect bike for each rider. S+V. Stay strong, ride on!
Great video and I like the countryside there
Thanks!
I've always been into sport bikes, but this bike has changed my perspective on what bike I want to go for from now on. I'm selling my sport bike and I'm getting one soon
It will be a different experience for sure! Enjoy it and thanks!
My wife bought me my 2019 Scrambler1200XE for my 40th…five years this week, and me and my Scrambler, nicknamed “The Bison”🦬, are just about at 20,000 miles and a sh*t load of fun. From Washington state down into New Mexico, my Bison has been a beast every mile. Workday commutes of 80 miles round trip, all year around (except when the snow sticks) were the best even if it was mostly slab. A SPEngineering Dual Shotgun exhaust, Booster plug, some DoubleTake breakaway mirrors, a fly screen and 4 sets of tires…now on the fifth, the bike feels perfect. I plan on putting another 20k miles in the years to come…maybe by my 50th, I can hit 50k 🤔 Ride On!
Hell yeah! Love hearing about others on their Scramblers! I appreciate that, brother. Keep it going! Thanks
WOW huge difference. Thanks for this.
No problem!
I added this to my 1200 XC, but I didn’t notice the difference like you experience. The noise coming from the engine still sounds like it doesn’t have the sound dampening. Still hear that metallic sound as you describe it. I did not test it before hand like you did, but I’m assuming it’s working. Maybe I’ll notice it when I ride it.
@@ginoasci curious you wouldn't have similar results. 🤔
A video on how to use that blue scan would be great. How to use it, where it plugs into, what it’s used for, etc etc. Under your seat where you keep your insurance card and registration is a USB plug. I ran a charging cord from there, ran it under the seat, under the gas tank, towards the front and up in front to the handlebars where my phone mount is. My phone is always plugged in and charging. Thought you might like that idea. Thanks
Thanks! I'll see if I can make a video on the scanner once this weather becomes more stable. Appreciate it!
@@scrambler_adventures : thank you !
Are the straps to the dry bag available without the bag ? I’m interested in the type of latch or clasp that is used really.
The straps used there are the ones that came with the dry bag. However, ROK straps would work great for this and pretty much any other strap application. I'm a big fan of them.
I’m up in the north east myself. I got the 2022 XC, and really love this bike. Could you please explain that power plug . What type of plug is it, and what can you plug into it? I see it’s not a cigarette lighter, but I don’t recognize the plug and wanted to know what can be plugged into it. Another question I have is, what kind of hooks did you use to utilize the under seat loops? I’ve looked everywhere for the type of bag and even hooks to latch onto those but could not find exactly what could hook onto those. Thanks!
The power plug is essentially a cigarette lighter as you say but it is a smaller diameter than what is in a car. The one I have is from Triumph and is just an easy place to plug in a phone charger or whatever. There is specifically a spot to install this on the scrambler.Scrambler. as for the hooks, they are from the Triumph dry bag so they are specifically made to match up to the seat. I'm not aware of anyone else that makes a bag or straps to attach to this seat . Other options would work, obviously but these are made to work together.
@@scrambler_adventures : You say you can plug in a phone charger, are you saying it’s a USB port or a USB-C port ? I guess I’m trying to ask if you can plug a USB charger in there? And does it turn off when you turn the ignition off ? Thanks for the reply.
@@ginoasci this what I installed. shop.triumphcleveland.com/store/Triumph-Scrambler-1200-Auxiliary-Power-Socket-A9828041-p495060645. Then I bought an adapter so I could use a regular sized charger from my car as the motorcycle power socket is a smaller diameter. When I get home from work I will post some pics on discord for you if you would like to join.
@@scrambler_adventures : : yes. I’ve seen that but did not make the purchase because they do not show the inside. Yes, would like to see that adapter.
Hey @scrambler_adventures - I posted this on your Discord, but thought I'd ask here as well. How in the heck do you have a side pannier and a top box on your Scrambler? I'm so confused and what frame / boxes are compatible. Really want to use the rugged pannier, but I've got a rear luggage rack already installed and don't want to lose that. Any advice on this? Please let me know
well... Triumph sells the mounting rack and the pannier specifically for this bike. the side rack they sell is specific for this pannier, but I know I have seen a couple other companies offer their versions online. as for the top box, its just an Amazon model that has a bracket with multiple holes to be able to adapt to a variety of luggage racks. if i remember correctly i put a link to that box in the description of the viseo i made about it. Thanks and hope this helps.
I use the Giant Loop Great Basin luggage for my Scram. I do more off-highway adventuring on this bike. Been very happy with it on several multi-day trips. I have the same fuel bottle holder. You found a nice place to mount it! The Giant Loop bag has attachment points on it, and that's where I put mine. Nice video and looked like a fun trip! I'm planning some over night trips for this spring. Planning to hit the northern part of the Smokey Mountains 1000 (there is a FB group) for a couple of days at least. Lucky to have some really cool on and off road riding along the border of Tennessee and North Carolina.
I appreciate the info.... im currently trying to plan out my trips for 2024, so im going to look into that FB group. Thanks!
Nice! Little steep for my wallet, but good for you! I have the wool pad from Alaska leather that I use for longer rides. Probably not as comfy as the Corbin, but it really does help out with not only comfort but also heat...at least some.
Thanks, Man! I hear you on the cost. Thats a lot of money to me especially considering you spend it without knowing if you will like it. Thankfully I love it!
What dealer did you use?
Pitt Cycles, however, I cant recommend them as the best thing about them was my salesman and he no longer works there.
Happy New Year. I took an end of year ride yesterday. Cut it short and turned around when I got fogged in. Live to ride a 41st year. 🎉
That's awesome! No riding for me yesterday or today.... snowing.
Happy new year dude!!!
Happy New Year to you and yours. 🎉
Same to you!
Happy New year 2024🎇🎸
What kind of gloves are you using for the cold?
Those are the joe rocket britan gloves. I like them quite a lot. And I do have my heated grips on, to be fair.
Happy New Year!
Thank you for the review!
Thanks for the view and comment!
I only have one word. Honda
Is this bike to advanced for a first bike?
I am in no way an expert and can only offer my opinion. To me the question if a bike is a "good" first bike has nothing to do with tech, HP, torque, etc. What matters is, can the rider physically handle the bike.... the height, the weight and will the bike be used in the environment it was intended for and most importantly the mentality of the rider. So, yes, this CAN be a good first bike, but not for everyone.
Hi do you have the link for the product?
i didnt purchase it, but here is what it is. a.co/d/1qDSdjg
Thx, this is underrated mod I've been searching for a way to minimize the metallic noise & more focus on the pop-bang exhaust note. Cheerio ✌
Love this video! The audio is a bit hard to listen to but it's good to see you're still making videos 🥰🫶🏾
Thank you for the view and the feedback. Both are greatly appreciated.
Great job bud. Enjoyed the photos. Also love the scrambler. I have one. Loads of fun. Take care
Appreciate you. Enjoy that machine!
dude,i know what you mean about the scrambler.makes me smile ever time i hop on it,and yes you cant help but look back as you walk away.got my 1st triumph 40 yrs ago and still have it but ventured thru alot of bikes in between.i watched so many vids from nitpickers and naysayers but couldnt resist.this bike makes riding fun again.if ya dont like wind, move on and it rides rougher than a street machine but it has me feelin like a 16yr old with a crap eatin grin.
Right on! Thanks for the watch and comment!
Nice...
Howdy... is that material heat resistant? I live in Texas and it seems like it would start smoldering while riding around town in the summer...hahaha... Cheers!
It seems to be. It gets very tacky when heated but hasn't melted
I'm glad you don't have an intro video. They are pretty much just a waste of time. Cheers.
Thanks.... ya this is just a hobby and something I enjoy doing. I don't take myself to seriously.
