Well as my channel name implies, I'm Steve, heh. Welcome to my channel. Also i came to the realization that my original reply to your comment where i had provided a link to that TH-cam short on Purplecliff's video was likely flagged for having a link. Which is probably why you didn't see the comment at all. My bad I didn't know links would automatically get flagged in the comments. As well as i can still view the comment i had posted, which is why i thought it was live. I remember checking out SRW J years ago and enjoying that game. So honestly SRW the Moon Dwellers would definitely be something I'd be happy to look at! I hope to continue reactions at some point but right now, things have been a bit tricky and complicated. Although I do plan to do more reaction videos! Agreed!! Looks like it's all for Gundam Seed, I got mistaken for thinking Gundam Seed Destiny was involved for some reason. :o But also in my opinion I think I liked Gundam Seed, more than Gundam Seed Destiny. I didn't think they needed to introduce a new protagonist, especially seeing how he got treated later on in the series. Also if it helps I didn't check out the movie either. Usually I haven't seen any of the movies for any of the Gundam Series but I'll try to check out the episodes depending on the series. (Though maybe I should check out the movies :o I might be missing some good context)

@@rrwithsteve895 Oh sorry I was talking about Stargazer. It's like 3 episodes but I call it a movie. Yeah the movies where just an abridged version of the show. Really a waste of time if you watched the series. But Seed is kind of fan fiction the way I understand it and Destiny, someone decided to change the plot when half the show was done. That's why Kira takes over being the main character mid-way through and they do it in a really jarring and janky way. It wasn't planned out and it took them a bit to get on track. Honestly Shin is like # 2 on my list of most hated characters so I was never going to like it :P

There's no need to apologize it's all good!! Those kinds of specials do sound nicer than an abridged movie. Also, I had no idea Kira being brought in halfway was actually due to the popularity of the fandom and not actually originally intended as the show runners planned. Suddenly, the pacing of the show the way it went makes a bit more sense.

@@rrwithsteve895 Well it was more the perceived popularity of the fandom. But yeah they should have trusted their judgement. Kira Yamato is probably one of the most hated characters in Gundam in Japan. The whole ability to survive nuclear explosions didn't help. Kind of made him a mary sue character.

Oh wow :o I didn't realize Kira was hated so much. :o I always assumed him being so good at everything was a result of being an "Ultimate Coordinator" but surviving a nuclear explosion does sound quite farfetched.

It's true, I haven't tried some of the other Gundam games but from checking out reviews I've seen stuff where the gameplay isn't quite that good or there's other issues. One of the only Gundam games I've checked out (Not including Gundams from Super Robot Wars) , was Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation Vs Zeon for the PS2. That one was a fun game :o Though I wonder if there's any other Gundam games like that around.

@@rrwithsteve895 Well, Battle Operations, I think it was called was like that. I guess the PC version has such bad netcode it's unplayable tough (kind of need that in a pvp game). But that's kind of the type of game I wish they would stop making constantly. I want a game where you can zip around, not do this guerilla tactical stuff. At least not if you're going to use stuff like the Zeta.

I searched up Gundam battle operation and Gundam Battle operation 2 popped up on Steam and wow.... Foom the reviews I've seen, it appears the game is badly managed. Although the gameplay is apparently really fun neat. It's hard to get into matches, among other things. That's a shame when a game touts great game play and cool designs only to be impossible to actually get in and just play...

That really helps make more sense! I had no idea that both Unicorn suits would be made out of magic rocks of sorts! Also that's really awesome to hear that I don't need to start from the very beginning and that there's some really cool Easter eggs especially for folks who have checked out the very early series!! What? It isn't made of a magic rock and yes the purpose absolutely is combat. The Unicorn units were created expressly as anti-Newtype weapons. This is why you actually do need to watch the years of UC content because you don't know what anything is. Fortuately, it isn't actually that much.

@@rrwithsteve895 If you want to get into UC Gundam, here is a list in chronological order: Mobile Suit Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam 08th MS team, Mobile Suit Gundam 0080 War in the Pocket, Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 Stardust Memories, Zeta Gundam, ZZ Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam Char's Counter Attack, Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway's Flash, Mobile Suit Gundam F91, Victory Gundam, Turn A Gundam, Gundam Reconguista in G. (Turn A and Reconguista in G happen in the far, far future but are still in the timeline) It's a long list but two of these items are just single movies (Char's Counter Attack and F91) and some of them are short series (War in the Pocket, 08th MS Team) You can watch Unicorn and follow what is going on without watching anything else, but there is much needed weight added when you have the context of everything that has happened.

@@mechanomics2649 Psyco frame is basically a magic rock I really just didn't want to go into what it actually is but new types and psicomu is used as magic in gundam. Plus Full Frontal stated it was an anti new-type weapon system but that's not what it's used for through the series so I really don't think you need to know all the gundam lore. Yeah you'll miss a lot but it's not really intrinsic to the story imo. But you want everything you need to get at least up to ZZ which is 139 episodes which is a lot.

Magic rocks does sound like quite a stretch :o You're right I should try to get into the lore and check out a few of the shows!

I could try it but I definitely would have to edit quite a bit out for a proper reaction. I had at one point reacted to the first 12 episodes of Gundam Witch from Mercury and a good chunk of those reactions had been blocked worldwide. Those are all very good points!! Gundam as a series although alot of us love the mobile suits and everything, inbetween the Gundams themselves are almost always a product of war. (in the shows) Something meant to try and get the upper hand, and yet through the arms race, only things get even more and more amped on both sides. (Kind of like how some airshows will have fighter jets and although it's really neat to see fighter planes in any capacity, their original purpose was meant to be a weapon of sorts, or a deterrent to guard boarders) So it definitely makes sense to have that realism applied. Also for the sake of the show a character being a bit more over the top in their evil schemes I agree it's totally acceptable.

@@rrwithsteve895 Well not really the person to comment on that. I love military stuff (not so much the killing part but the tactics and tech) Plus my fav fiction is Warhammer 40,000 which is a touch dark. I mean when the "main guys" are all part of a highly religious fascist government and murder millions across the galaxy on a daily basis and then you say, "and then it gets worst.", Gundam is not really going to shock you :P

To be honest I'm not one to comment much either, but you did mention the most important distinction though, that's it's interesting to look into such genres, but not because of killing but moreso the lore, and the history behind it, if that makes any sense. (And for the case of Gundams or Warhammer or any other series, it's always interesting to see the world building within.)

​@@rrwithsteve895I just want to say that SEED's writng is fine or even good. And this is coming from someone who have watched *all* the Gundam anime. I personally won't let some UC elitist influence me to dislike Alternate Gundam timeline, especially with questionable reasonings. A lot of UC fans, put the UC timeline on a pedestal for its "realism" when in reality Gundam ZZ, Victory Gundam and even Char's Counterattack are more ridiculous than SEED. And the writing for Gundam F91 was so rushed to the point where a character changed side within a couple of minutes 😅

I love the fact there's so many alternate timelines in the Gundam Franchise! Are there some I wish there were more built upon? (Of course there are! I definitely want to see more world building with Gundam IBO for example.) But still super happy with what we got! I still haven't seen the original UC timeline related series though but I hope to at some point! Also sorry for the super late response!! D: My internet was out for like 10 days and I just found this comment!! :o

Thank you for the very detailed heads up!! :D As I was editing I had later realized maybe that wasn't a Zaku after all. (The scenes moved quite quickly. :o ) That was a very large brown mobile suit. That's the first time I've seen something that! Wait that red, one was also a Mobile armor too?? That's insane I really had no idea! Those mirrors did look really cool, but it's a shame as to what happens though. Six arms on the Neue Ziel and here I thought four arms was crazy number :o (I didn't even think about the mega particle cannons or beam sabers.) Also I honestly felt like maybe there was more importance to the diamond, perhaps. Maybe there is, since it is featured a few times.

A remaster sounds like it would be amazing to check out! :O

Or maybe Banpresto proposed the idea and funded Fromsoftware to develop the game, perhaps? In a sense like commissioning or outsourcing Fromsoftware to make the game? Kind of like when Gamefreak got another game company ILCA to develop the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes? It's not uncommon to see stuff like that. But then again I'm just speculating :o

@@rrwithsteve895 I don't know. The thing is there was Another Century 2 came out in 2005. That was when From Soft was on their 10th Armored Core game (12th mech game) + a they had Enchanted Arms, Chormehounds and Armored Core 4 coming out the same year. Which they are known for working on multiple games at the same time but that's alot. It also weird because the hud looks like an AC game but the feel is more Virtual On or something. Plus, it looks easy which most From Soft games are pretty hard. It could just be it's a licensed property and nobody cared or had much creative freedom but really, I think if you're playing a game like that it's because your fav mech is in it not because it's a 10/10 game. Plus not every From Soft game is good. Hell not even every AC game is good, so might be giving them too much credit.

Agreed! That's quite a lot of titles to be released just in one year :o (Nowadays some games end up taking years sometimes even several, especially if it's a sequel to a series) I like to think maybe more game developers are trying to focus more on quantity, rather than quality, but still sometimes even that can fall flat. A game can look amazing and stunning and have some neat features but the story might be not as thought out. (As well as sometimes there's games where the graphics can be rather lacking, but have an awesome well thought out story.) Then there's just games that are nostalgic, they might not look the best, and the story in hindsight might seem a tad outlandish, yet it's what childhoods are made of and it's just a neat nostalgia trip. :o Though honestly I never actually checked out any of the A.C.E games or Armored Core :o I checked out a couple of the SRW games but never really knew about A.C.E or Armored Core and others until much later.

@@rrwithsteve895 Well the problem with ships and modern tech is it's really easy to copy /paste 1 class of ship 1,000's then do the same with the laser fire. (You can do that with cells too just easier in 3D). So the number is not really surprising. It's kind of becoming the norm of more is better myth. So I kind of expect it and it tends to be a sign of a bad show. But sometimes the point isn't the battle, it's the drama.

That's a good point, for 3D scenes if one knows what they're doing they can make lots of copies quite quickly all doing the same actions. Though sometimes a scene like that or two can be beneficial if it's meant to depict how serious the conflict is, to raise the stakes some more. Though It does make me wonder which is better, a series with a couple of unique battleships and crews going on adventures. Or a series where there's lots of repetitive looking fleets of ships. I feel like more stories could be told with the former, rather than the latter. Though the latter could make more sense if the fleets and the fighting are just in the background if that makes sense. But I am a bit intrigued as to how these fleets are going to be used. Also you're right sometimes it's not about the battle but also the drama and the story.

@@rrwithsteve895 Well I think the problem with mass engagements like this is it kills character interaction on a personal level. Like in here, look how many ships there is. The ship our hero is on really doesn't matter unless he's leading the fleet in a fight like that. When you have like 20 or so, then his decisions and ship matter. That's really any mass war setting. Like war movies work (Saving Private Ryan, Hacksaw Ridge ect.) because it's this small fragile man or men in hell just trying to live another minute. But if you pull back and focus on the wider conflict, that 1 guy matters much less from a 50,000 ft view. I'm not saying this show does it but it also leads to people just pasting ships everywhere and it just looks like a chaotic mess. You can't tell what's going on unless someone tells you what's going on. Which is really in part because they are not thinking about formations or they're being lazy but it just smells of, "don't think just look at the pretty lights".

Yeah also a lot of the time in copy and paste whether with ships or even with characters I've noticed, is the main character or the main ships will always look detailed but everything else will very much be not only a background character or setting but also very basic compared to the main characters.

I've heard its fairly underrated but really good! If i can find some episodes i could possibly check out the first episode in a reaction/review. Though it would probably have to be a heavily edited style one. If i can find the episode that is.

I thought the one at 6:00 looked familiar!! I remember checking out Martian Successor Nadesico and even the movie, but it's been a while! From what I remember reading up about that series, allegedly there was supposed to be like three movies, right? Like the one that was released was to set up a larger story from what I had read. Also in regards to 7:02 and 7:11 that's also really cool!! I had no idea that one was an Isekai mecha anime! Also that's a pretty interesting rumor, in regards to the Cybuster. 7:38 I kind of remember this one also from SRW J!! I never really did check the series though. Also 7:52 looks so cool!! I don't know how that Cybuster rumor came to be. Cybuster was in SRW 2, a whole 2 games before Ex came out. I can't imagine they were planning that far ahead, even in the 90s.
