The most amazing glass skylight you've ever seen!
At Armadale Doors & Leadlight we were blessed with the opportunity to create something personal, meaningful and truly spectacular.
A domed glass skylight made from custom steel and thousands of hours of decorative glass painting and leadlight (stained glass).

Utterly Amazing. I wonder what this cost? 20k, 50k?, 100k?
I am so glad I found this.....I was shown this a long time ago but it seems a very rare technique....thanx
Excellent instructions - clear, concise and easy to understand - thank you
So my putty is the right sort, but it is sticky as anything and not like yours. Have I over-heated it in the microwave or something?
Not sure if Phillip Parker is still the owner of armadale doors and leadlights , he was my first foreman at searls some 42 years ago. Brilliant tradesman.
Thanks for the tutorial, much appreciated. Can you let me know the name of the rotary brush or provide a link. I've been searching for it and haven't found it
Beautiful work and a very touching story, Congratulations on a sublime piece.
What tool are you using doing that
What a beautiful story! My heart goes out to the family. But what a treasured gift you have given them for the rest of their lives!! Amazing!!! (Technical question: are the thinner "ribs" inbetween the glass pieces lead came or zinc came? I realize you said the main frame was steel. Again, just a wonderful & meaningful piece of artwork! Congratulations!!!)
This is one of the BEST tutorials on window putty for lead panels I've seen! Thank you for all the helpful tips! I'm a new subscriber now! :)
Great video ‐ thanks for that
Can you please tell me the difference between glazing putty and what other studios are calling lead light cement. I have spoken to people restoring lead lights and they swear there is a difference but when you look at the ingredients for normal glazing putty it is also made up of calcium carbonate and linseed oils which is the main ingredients for lead light cement recipes.
Putty is lead light cement before the blacking component is added. Putty is grey. Otherwise the components are the same, although lead light cement can sometimes have a bit more linseed oil added to make it softer. The linseed oil evaporates over time which sets the putty/cement.
@@apricusstainedglass Can black flex seal liquid be used instead of the lead putty?
@@whitrich47 No, best avoided.
@@apricusstainedglass it was just a thought. I'll take your advice
