Try to read your burned CD-s from 2000s. If at least partially readable my advice is to try copy it's content on your pc with totalcommander NScopy plugin. It will skip the unreadable parts istead of froze. And at the end it will try the unreadable parts again and some times it can recover some more.

I have this exact same model. Edit no it's a 860 not 870. that died on the 7th of January but it's a 2019 build date. I think I'll be sending it to you. Disk was listed as "surprise removal" in event viewer.

That solder ball was spit out from under the mosfet when it was red hot

these 870 evos have been failing for 3 years allready, cool repair tho :D

That's what you get for using flash drives. At least a CD is like a record. The info is literally burned into the plastic like a record.

Better make sure that all your stuff doesn't get sucked into that black hole!

Mine has the LED light, spins, just doesn't recognize...should I just get a new usb connection piece?! Been trying to fix this for 5yrs, and it's not of the dozen things the internet says...I'm pretty sure it's the same thing that happened to my Seagate, but that has a piece you can just take off like a lego, and put a sata connector on.

I have my mp3 player with 2gb flash memory, it's 15 year old, memory is corrupted, so it's possible to upgrade and replacement their flash memory to 16gb or 32gb flash memory those comes on usb pen drive. I mean it's possible to replacement of pen drive flash into mp3 flash memory ????
