I really really appreciate this vid. I just bought an Almont Rekey Lock (hasn't arrived yet) and had no idea the rekeying process was this involved. I watched Bosnian Bill's vid and yes it is hilarious, sad but hilarious nonetheless. It seems, with or without the rekeying tool, gutting and rekeying these locks is gonna be a challenge in and of itself. Thanks again for the the instructional vid. Booger Picker Out

WRT cutting the lock body, when the tool you are using is unable to perform the task it is a good clue that you are using the wrong tool. Just because you can put a cutting wheel on a Dremel doesn't mean that a Dremel is a cut-off tool. The Dremel is designed for small, light weight tasks. It doesn't have the power for cutting thick steel. A Dremel is a very useful tool for the jobs that it was designed for, for cutting lock bodies, not so much.

These padlocks have such character. That’s the appeal they have for me. The Italians really know how to make ornate things. A fantastic collection you have and thanks to your gifts, the collection was doubled. Really good picking of the smiley. Black Dolphin 90 has done some really good videos with the pagoda mindy. Exploding one and finding a way to tension them. Well worth checking out. Cheers

Very cool Mindy lock collection🔒 That book looks really interesting too. I have a Mindy that has the keyway on the face of the lock body, think I got it from Amazon. The round pagoda ones can be tensioned from the rear with a wiper blade or BOK tensioner then using a probe to push each disc down, think there are a few vids on them😀✌️

The pagoda Mindys can be tensioned with a long Z bar.

Most people in my family think nothing good can come from lockpicking lol. They have no idea how big this is how many people do it and it's just so interesting

Looks like you got things covered for upcoming videos. Don't know what you can do about the bricked lock other than what you are trying already unfortunately. Hope you manage to get it working again. Maybe shimming and shaking or tappinf does something? Maybe you can wedge things out of the way as the core doesn't block it?

Haha, wow. You used a Dremel on that Kryptonite? Should've used an angle grinder, would've gotten it in a couple minutes. They're cheap too, I got mine from Harbor freight for $14 on sale.

Great job. I have a few locks in my naughty bucket that act just like that. I’ve tried a wide variety of tension and still no open. Just like your Reese they aren’t particularly hard locks but I still can’t get them.

I don’t know if you’ve already done this but check storage facilities, if you ask nicely they may give you cut locks from failure to pay customers. I started picking with home made picks and tension tools I worked my way up to Amazon sets. Still use them with great success. I don’t have a license so I cannot upgrade to better than Amazon sets unfortunately. But it’s all good. I’m fine with the tools I’ve acquired.

Congratulations opening that lovely full brass Reese! I felt the excitement because I have some locks that I think I should be able to pick but I just can't for whatever reason. I even have keys for them, lol!

On the coin box... Take the 4 brass corner screw out, open it up and take the nut off the back of the lock.... Don't know why they bothered with the coin box lock! I'm a Locksmith and also a factory authorized parts distributor for both Duncan and Park-O.-Meter.
