Welcome to the infamous Flint water plant! been sitting abandoned since 2014 when it was shut down due to mismanagement which caused lead to be exposed to Flint city water. to this day the city is still replacing water pipes throughout the city.

Completely unnecessary and you probably created more issues by heating the frame tubing unless you plan on jumping this bike on an Mx track on a regular basis you’re probably never going to crack the frame. That frame is 30+ years old and it hasn’t cracked yet it’s probably not going to. Just because they sell something doesn’t mean you need it. I have an 87 and it’s been through a lot of different configurations and was ridden mx for a while and never cracked. JMHO

That's up to you bud. Its your car, just do whatever makes you happy. There's thousands of things you can do with your car. A manual swap is a pretty popular thing to do with these cars since there old and a lot of people don't wamt to deal with fixing the auto trans when they break.
