Lock Haven 2024
มุมมอง 7K21 วันที่ผ่านมา
I flew into Lock Haven on Wednesday, June 19th for the annual "Sentimental Journey" gathering of Piper aircraft. Piper Aircraft manufactured their airplanes at Lock Haven for decades. Unfortunately, Hurricane Agnes in 1972 flooded the factory and Piper moved everything to Florida. Unfortunately, and extreme heat wave hit Pennsylvania. I suspect this held back the number of airplanes and partici...

Hats and Horses at the Kentucky Derby

We flew in and out of Clark Regional Airport (KJVY) for the day of the Kentucky Derby. Rather than airplanes, I focused on the hats I saw at Church Hill Downs. Unfortunately, my camera focused on a hat instead of the horses crossing the finish line. Take a look.

Our favorite IA/AP mechanic bought a 1961 Morrisey 2150A and has been working on it. Here is a quick one minute video of it in the hangar. I added the music to add a little sense of humor.

My father's Swiss watch. He wore it when I was a small boy growing up in the 1960's.

After a thirteen month restoration, I took it flying today just as my father did seven decades ago. The watch makers did a great job preserving it and ensuring it runs like t is brand new. Gerard Perregaux still continues to make them.

Beautiful!! I work at the Piper Aviation Museum. I was fortunate enough to at least get some air conditioning when I wasn't outside! Heat was brutal!
@@Davewilliamson5w What a heat wave it was!
I have to do this at least once.
I hope you get the chance to attend.
@@royernest7740 I do to. Nice airport, I have flown in there once just for fun. I hope the city doesn't move forward with their plans to close the airport.
Who let those aeroncas in!?
Tooooo funny! 😁
I made my first solo in a Piper J-3 in 1955 when I was in high school. N3531N (I think?) I worked for Piper Aircraft for 10 years in Lakeland, FL on the PA-42. It was a great place to work until they folded and went to Vero Beach. I didn't, since I had 3 kids in the Lakeland school district.
Great story. Thank you for sharing it!
Beautiful
My brother flew out or there in the 60's. Does anyone out there remember Wilmer Ames?
Love it!
I was hoping to get a chance to go up this year. Perhaps next year I'll get to leave the ground.
Thanks for coming, it was good seeing you again!
This is one of my favorite destinations every year!
That must have been pretty cool
Looks like you had perfect weather.
Better with no music
Such a beautiful aircraft.
Takeoff
You should have been a golfer instead of a pilot. The scenery from the rear of the jet isn't as good as from the front, but the refreshments in the rear are much better.
I get frustrated with myself playing golf.

To have seen this would be so cool
One of the best looking, if not the best looking, aircraft design ever.
That and the Spitfire. Same engine I think.
Excellent ! Love it
Looking forward to seeing more
The T- Lance handles different than the conventional tail model
Nice watch, I'm sure it will last for a few more decades
Thyis would be a lot more informative if it had audio
You are absolutely right. I rushed this one. Lesson learned.
Nice looker, but a maintenance nightmare! A Cessna 340 will outperform it and cost less.
I was bouncing around youtube and just came across this, checked my logbook and club scheduler, looks like I was flying! Noted it was a gusty day (can see the rudder working early). Always enjoy videos for critique! -Ray Davidowski
Have fun!
@@royernest7740 You too!
Geez what a gorgeous airplane.
Nice Beech. Love the color scheme. Needs some EFIS in front of the pilot. Besides that nice panel. Do your self a favor, don’t put the stratus so close to your head. Not so smart. Nice video though. 😊
Mr. Lacy is a Iconic pilot. I remember the passionate purple P-51.
Nice focus control, foreground did not affect it. What was it shot with.
I shot this with my Sony A6700 APSC camera. I programmed a programmable button on the camera to toggle between auto and manual focus. That way I can lock the focus before the foreground appears in the view.
Absolutely brilliant ! Love the watch
I saw this GEICO banner flying over years ago
Muito bom linda aeronave
Beautiful plane
I don't like small planes because I don't trust them but this one looks little different I like it
The c90, 200, or the others, Beechcraft is a wonderful plane to fly!
Great Video, Tnx nice old C-90❤
Nos lembra a Marília Barbosa com tristesa😢
What is the name of the music? I loved the instrumental guitar note changes.
Inspiring Folk Acoustic by FORESTMUSIC
Nice to see (and hear)an aviation video with no music or muffled airplane noise. Thank you!
Dang, I loved the original green. I understand it was aging.
I did too. The fabric was breaking apart, the plastic was yellowing, and there is really no good green replacement upholstery. So, I went neutral gray.
Beautiful plane , love it !
THE AMAZING RYAN!!! How cool is that! What a beautiful plane. Congrats!!! 🎉🎉 🎉
Son-in-law flies charter in C90's and B200's. I never get tired of watching King Airs in flight.
I never got tired of flying my buddies old B90.
Looks fast 💨

Tip of the day - never go into the J-hook on the condition levers - go up even/beside them on start up. When everything has stabilized after start - then go into the hook. If you ever have a hot start you can immediately cut the fuel by pulling straight back.
Thank you
