Nice job. I have a similar idea for my mill. Unfortunately, I'm still looking for a slightly different setup....
@@shadowdemon13 we use the arches to bring logs out of the woods and keep them clean, free of dirt/mud. So far it's worked great.
Add More Water to that POND cattails won't live in deeper water.
@@JosEPh-zy3yr the pond is spring fed, it naturally drops 1-2' in the summer
That's something I should do too. How do you get wood out of the stump dump onto your trailer...got a winch on it?
Nice work on the cants, as for the cattails I fought with them for years! Excavator does it !

My pond has really gotten clogged up with Cattails this year as well. Not sure how to get rid of them , even if I had the backhoe on my tractor I couldn’t reach all of them to dig em out.

@@Neznisgip yes it's was kind of a dick response. When you design and build a piece of equipment that can carry a 2000 lb log over rough terrain, keeping the log elevated out of the mud and dirt and someone calls it an erector set, a kids toy made out of cheap metal. It's kind of a dig. Maybe I just took the comment wrong.

Is that a gas powered bandsaw? It does a nice job on that log.

@@thekiltedsawyer if we were doing production sawing that method would be to slow. In that case we would stage the logs and roll them up on the mill

I have poplar tree lumber do that alot. i sticker it as is then go back after a few months of drying and straight line it. If you cut it right away , most likely it will continue to bend. Then you have to recut it and might end up with fire wood.

@@thekiltedsawyer we just cut the cracks out which leaves us a 7-8" wide live edge shelf, that is 1/4 sawn. Everything small goes in the crafter's box and usually finds a home pretty quick.

@@DANG-- any poplar we cut down with any size to it is usually is full of center rot.

@@thekiltedsawyer in the winter, the building can be made tolerable against the cold with a salamander heater.
Birch is some pretty wood. Them deers are fattening themselves up for winter to come ahead. Poplar here has a mind of its own. I just had some white oak do that to me….CRACK…..

I have a poison that I bought in 1977 that still fires up and works well, I can’t keep the muffler screws tight, tried everything
@@Jim-vx3yl they just won't die 😉. Find out what size bolts hold the muffler on. Buy a helicoil kit for that size bolt and install them in the saw. They will make a huge difference.
So deep in the NJ pines, even I don't know where I am.😮😅 Couple miles off the South end of McGuire AFB runway. Could you do a short on the Audio/Video equipment and any editor you may use?
@@OTPFrodo deep in the Jersey pines would make you a piney, I believe that's the term they use in NJ for folks that live in the pine forests. We keep our video equipment simple, we use our cell phones for most video and editing. We have Bluetooth Mics when necessary. We use an editing program called "you cut video editor" you can edit videos in 4k if you desire. I don't believe This editing program will work with apple products.
