Tips, Tricks, and Repairs for Varla Scooters
Varla E1 V2 Test Ride after Install of New Parts and Upgrades #varlascooters #escooter
Here is the test ride video after I installed the new controller, battery, the new wider deck, new upgraded handle bars, and replaced the damper O-ring. The V2 after all this is way more stable and handles beautifully even over rough spots in the road, mini potholes, and no more death wobble. You can see it for yourself in this video. Remember to dress for the slide and not the ride. Enjoy!

Thats not the right dc 12volt module
Your right it's generic but it does work. You have rotate the wires around until you get it right. Varla doesn't sell it by itself on their website because now it's wired into the control module itself
I’m having the issue where it’s still making the noise how do I check the pads can you make a video please.
I got plenty out there already. If it's still rubbing then take your hands and wiggle it back and forth to find the sweet spot while your squeezing the throttle until the sound stops then tighten it that way
If you look through my video collection I have several on how to take the pads out and replace them with new ones... The pads actually last awhile depending on how often your riding your scooter... Also if there is rubbing it could be your rotor they bend and warp all the time.
@@ShawnyricksTipsandTricksironically enough I didn’t have to I had a microscopic rock jammed inbwteen the pad and the caliper creating a high spot thus the rub. Crazy how these things happen sometimes.
@@ShawnyricksTipsandTrickshow many miles on average do you get on pads, and tires?
I've gotten about 400 before replacing mine but it depends on how often you ride
Install a steering damper it will help a lot.
We already chatted Varla up over one and they were making one but it's been months now and haven't heard back. But yes a steering damper is needed.
Using an electric multi tool cuts perfect v shape in the rubber.
Nice
hi my varla 2.0 shows no speed and no braking symbol on the display , this is a brand new display from varla and i still cant turn off the headlight , it just stays on im thinking it could be a bad controler?
Or it could be the screen itself. Sometimes the LCD displays are bad. I would get a hold of Varla and let them know and get a replacement or a whole new scooter out of the box.
@ Yee that’s what I did the new display is on the scooter now and it fixed a few of the problems like turning off the scooter when I hold the power button but ig this is something deeper? Would one of those fuses on the inside be causing this?
@ do you have a discord or email to send u videos?
@Mario4zz when fuses pop nothing works I would have them send you a new controller.
Great video including the details to help make it an easy process. Thanks for sharing.
It's been to yrs since the video, did it actually work i just got my eagle one a week ago and im looking for things to do and wat not to do
Yes it works. But I would still say don't ride in pouring down rain and always make sure you dry your scooter off completely after every ride. It is always good as soon as you get them to water proof them before you take them out.
i need to know how to get more brake pads on to the rotor . i just have quarter inch touching disk
If that's the case the rotor isn't lined up yet or you have the wrong sized rotor or pads
Wish we got a full shot of the scooter with seat. I ordered one but had some delivery mishap and am having some issues with varla solving the problem. Kinda sucks but anyways. I also have a wide deck once/if I get the seat I’m going to route out a space to make the seat work with it 🙏
Guess I should have watched the other vids lol
All good! Yes, the way they have it you either have to put the seat on or the wider deck can't have the seat bolted with the wider deck.... but I actually thought of trying to do the same thing to get the seat over the wider deck. Some day I might try to do it and make another video. But we will see ha
@@ShawnyricksTipsandTricks they pulled their heads out of their… and dealt with it! Replacement seat is on the way 😁 I don’t have the skills for the vids but I’ll share the outcome once I get around to it and the dual battery setup
@@ShawnyricksTipsandTricks now got my seat and the damn seat post doesn’t fit into the rest of the assembly!! 😑 a bit upset with these folks
Unfortunately it can be very frustrating. Did they send you the right seat cause if they did then it all should line up fine as long as you don't have the wider deck on
Any advice on adding a dual battery setup? Specifically the wiring
@@christophercollins1959 th-cam.com/video/h1n31mKwnMs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=SHlkL0RoRzUveiUG This is how to do it, except it will be a bit different, because you are doing it for the V2. The reason why this should work is because it's the exact same type of battery. And this was also Varla V1 before the V2 came out. The company gives you everything to wire it up. Good luck!
@@ShawnyricksTipsandTricks much gratitude to you for the rabbit hole you sent me through, helped connect many dots for me! Just ordered what I think will be sufficient and going to give it a go next week. Thanks again!

I can not tell you that as I don't know what brand that is
Pink panther theme song ? Lol
Where you buy that from
Varla website
Are there any updates on if it affects performance or damages the motors?
I'm trying to find good weather here now that summer is over to get a trial run... I want to do pas 1 for a long while, pas 2, and pas 3 on some up down hilly roads here.... Hopefully I can soon. Cause I am also curious, RL also has been busy
Do u recommend? I keep getting flat tires alot
Yes and I have put together a video on how to put solid rubber tires on the eagle 1
I don't know yet as I am going to do a video here when the weather is better to test out each speed
It's not a waist of money.... And it really depends on how everyone puts them on to be honest.... But from what I have ridden on them I haven't had an issue with them yet so.
But yes when I have more time I will definitely be testing them out
What kind of speeds are you hitting on your varla e1v2? Im about 250lbs and can do 30 in speed mode 4 but iv never put it in 5 before.
I am 300 lbs and can get it to go about 33 mph or 35mph,, some times max out at 40 but that is down hill and what not.
@@ShawnyricksTipsandTricks very nice. Iv had mine for about a month and a half now and absolutely love it. Smiles for miles on these things!
are you going to buy a 3.0? would love videos on it
Waiting on Varla
Hi I got some brake pads off of Amazon and they are ever so slightly larger than the stock zoom pads are they universal ? or do I have to get replacements from varla?
They should be universal, but getting them from Varla should work. There have been times that I have had to sand down the edges a bit, sometimes they are slightly larger but they shouldn't be.
My Varla Eagle One V1.0 shuts down at 49.0 volts. Is it something wrong with my scooter? Anyone know why, please?
Could be a bad cell in the battery, or a controller issue? When was your scooter purchased?
Did you reach the highest speed of 16 mph? What gear were you all on?
Yes pas 3
I have one if these and only have a wobble when my weight is mostly in the front. Leaning back helps get rid of the wobble
My Varla Eagles one v2 dont work 😢
Well you can't tell me that and not explain what the problem is?
Help me send me your mail
Help
Water has entered the LCD and the control buttons.
@@ShawnyricksTipsandTricks The scooter doesn’t accelerate anymore
How do you find these tires compared to the original tires? Worth the upgrade?
I love the new upgraded ones much better. They are pretty puncture resistant as well
@@ShawnyricksTipsandTricks thanks for reply!
Great vid man! Was a good refresher and helped a lot knowing which kit to buy!
Thanks bro
I have a new controller coming under warranty, commenting here for engagement haha, but I will message you for help probably when it gets here :)
Thanks.... yes let me know you should definitely see a diference
Hey thanks ima need to do this, just wanting to confirm…i didnt see you pulling the brake lever, is pulling the syringe enough?
Yes the syringe will help move the fluid back and forth to make sure there is no more air bubbles
Where did you buy the longer screws from? Thank you 🙏🏼
Local hardware store
I tried this but couldn’t push the new fluid through the syringe to fill the cup. There was way too much pressure to do anything. Any suggestions?
If you have everything hooked up and both screw caps off and the syringe down by the brake calipers and the cup up by the break lever you should have no issues pushing the oil through the lines... If you got pressure then you didn't unscrew one of the screw caps or something else.
I know this is off subject, I’m to the point of taking my scooter to a shop. I have a varla eagle one. I know the battery’s charged but when I turn on the key the voltage starts dropping from about 56 volts to 0 in a couple minutes. I replaced the voltage reader on the handle bar but it continues to drop as before. I have the foot deck off but don’t see any fuses. On other scooters they are easy to spot. Do you have any thoughts on the location of the fuses.Thank You in advance from TN.g
You have to open up the deck they are inside. It's most likely bad battery cells
Will this be the same for the Varla Eagle One? Not Pro version
Yes the method is the same for all scooters that have Mineral Oil Hydraulic brakes
Worked. Thanks!
Worked. Thanks!
Nice glad it worked. It does take some practice and patience to get it just right
I did have an issue with that method. On one of my scoots the rear screw makes the caliper move toward the wheel as your tightening it. I used this method and wound up warping the disk with the caliper. A little sanding o the scoots arm and that issue was fixed. Luckily a 140mm disk is like 7 bucks
You must of really been running the wheel a lot in order for that to happen, sometimes it isn't perfect but it is best to evenly tighten down both screws at the same time. And if that doesn't work then sometimes holding the caliper and adjusting it slightly with your hands as you look down on to the rotor while making sure it's even when tightening down the screws works also. You have to make sure it's even, because you are right, it will move the caliper a bit if you only tighten one side down at a time. I've never warped a rotor at all by using this method. And it's the same method on all scooters. I'm at least glad you were able to get it to work.
Where did you get these from

@@ShawnyricksTipsandTricks u should make an installation guide for a 2.0
I actually put them on my 2.0 the same way for the pro and I will do up a video soon as I was waiting on one other really cool thing to come in before I did it, so that way I had my recent cool gear, and add ons to show at once
@@ShawnyricksTipsandTricks I have a reccomendation, you should try turn signals and/or horn on the pro and 2.0
I'm still working out some ideas for a horn... I haven't been to excited about the escooter or bicycle ones but yea I'm definitely looking into it.
Hey bro it's me again haha I ordered the bleed kit, and I'm going to get the mineral oil. but I guess i will need to buy new pads as well?
No you shouldn't need to buy new pads, unless the pads are majority warn down. But it's always a good idea to have them extra on hand
@@ShawnyricksTipsandTricks oh really ok thanks a lot for that tip bro i appreciate it so much. idk what i'd do without you man 😅
Thanks bro! I appreciate it!
Thank you for the informative video. It was extremely helpful
Thank you. I just purchased a new rotor becasue my last one was warped. I installed everything as should and i still hear some rubbing on the rotor. I tried your method on the breaks and i hope that will help. I have been trying to align this thing for 2 days now.
For me to commute on UK roads that way, I'd be in all HiViz and want a Neon coloured car behind me for safety. And one in front.
I got a very bright neon backpack that the 360 did not show up! It is also used as my signal light. The LED'S are highly visible and I always keep the front and rear head lights on even during the day for visibility for others. But no thanks sounds like to much of a chore there just to ride haha
is there any seat in varla eagle one pro sir?
No I don't think there is yet.
How has the ride been? Is it super bumpy? The tire weight of solid tires is part of what contributes to overheating. I’d also worry about performance in the wet
After the modifications I made to the tire to get it to fit, it ended up being a lot lighter. I'm not sure how it rides long distance yet and or in the rain but as soon as I can get out on it I'll let you know. When I tested it though it wasn't bumpy.
Where do you get a new screen from
You can order directly on the Varla website
@@ShawnyricksTipsandTricks how long is delivery
Hi Shawn, thanks for the video. What lead you to believe your battery is dead? My fuses and charger and ports are all good but scooter won’t charge and receiving E006 code.
The error code 6 means low voltage so if it's not your fuses then 9 time out of ten there is something wrong with your battery.
do you have the link where to buy sir the rear calipers? thank you
For which scooter?
for varla eagle one pro sir just the calipers mine is leaking any replacement sir
The nutt MTB E-bike Electric Scooter Right hand 160 rear on Ali-express. The nutt MTB E-bike Electric Scooter left hand 160 front on Ali-express. All you have to do is search that it's from the QIYUE Bike store on there. Those are the exact and best upgrade for you to do, once you put those on you won't have an issue with them leaking. They are solid.. If you need help on how to bleed and do the breaks search my videos I have plenty that tell you how.
can you mount the seat with the wider deck?
I don't think so! It's one of the other as I thought the same thing. But I have a wife deck coming so I'll let you know
I just replaced the display on my V2 it is showing the battery is only at 48% but it's showing 58.9 volts
The display can be bad possibly but what I would do is, prop it up on a crate and place the scooter in cruise control wheels off the ground and let it run down to 42 volts, no less, then plug the battery in let it charge and balance again all the way and then see if the display matches after that.
@shawnyrick I'm pretty sure they sent me wrong display being as it's p settings are set to 60v (pro model) and my scooter is the v2.0 52v The new display won't let me change the values for the voltage
Oh okay yea! That's the problem
@@pixelskyphotography2556Im having the same problem as they dont sell a replacement screen for the V2.0
Why did you need to replace your V2 Display?
I have the Varla Eagle One Pro with 41 miles and I can’t get the battery to charge over 87%. Do you have any idea on what the issue could be? I can’t find anything online.
Most likely a cell in the battery pack is bad get a hold of varla and see if they can send you a new battery under warranty
The Varla Eagle One's handbook says that the automatic shutoff is at around 42 volts. Does that include when the voltage meter is still fluctuating while you are riding? My main question is: if you are riding, and the battery meter says 52 volts when you stop somewhere, then when you start back it starts to fluctuate down to in the forties, will it fluctuate itself down to the point of shutoff even with half battery power left? I am speaking within the scenario that one has a new battery.
It shouldn't. The battery will fluctuate when you ride it depending on the power it needs to get you up and down hills ... But I would still never push it even when it fluctuates to 42... I never let it get that low myself while riding
I love this so much
Eyyy! The wasp is a solid little scooter! Good on you man!
Just had a nasty fall because of this death wobble. It came out of nowhere!
Yes that's why I wanted to get this video out as soon as possible
