Finally, after 2 months of weekend work, Michael completed his new GAP Titan HF antenna. We invited some members of the VBARC radio club, including the one and only Eric from HamRadioConcepts to take a look at the new antenna and wire it all together. I want to give a huge thank you to all the members of the club who came out and helped us wire up our antenna and to HamRadioConcepts for coming ...

Pulling Kayak with ATV

When you're bored and live on a farm, you're definitely not bored for long! With some rope and a clevis, we attached a kayak to a John Deere Gator and pulled it around the property. What a day!
Snorkeling a Honda Recon
มุมมอง 13K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Today I snorkeled a Honda Recon. All the parts can be found at your local hardware store and installed in a few hours. Unfortunately, I did not record us testing the snorkel, but we did. While the snorkel is water-tight, something in the engine is not and I sunk the ATV. However, after a fuel swap, oil change, and carb cleaning, the Recon runs great with no damage.

whoa slow down there with the grease, greasy Mcgreasester
How to change a bad wheel lugg?
Great video
With so much grease on the inside aren't you concerned about grease getting on the brake shoes?
Very informativan clear, the best video yet, I really appreciate this!!!
How do you run to carb lines and what lines do you use
When these go bad does it mean the parking brake no longer works?
Yes
Very, very smart young man. Nice tutorial
Valeu Fron brasil thanks 🙏
I hope folks dont follow this repair... a little grease goes a long way
Guess you dont understand dry torque versus wet torque 😂
A hundred is a hundred…not 80…ur 20% under…😳
Four years later How are things going? I just became a ham and working on getting my antenna up and going. Congrats of your first call. Michael ~ KL5NU
"You've got 20 minutes to use an entire tub of grease...go!!" "I have just the project for that! Rear brakes!!"
that was one of the best vids I have seen on TH-cam. Damn fine job.
It’s fools errand if you ride hard trails. I’ve sealed the drum housing with RTV and still within half a day riding the drum is pooched again. It’s too bad there isn’t a hydraulic disc brake conversion for around $300. The mechanical cable disc conversion is just slightly less useless than the drum, but a hydraulic kit could be the ticket - even if only operable by hand lever and you lose the foot brake pedal
You shouldn’t be working on your own stuff
Why he is competent enough
Holy grease, Batman
nice good job boys thank you
Thank you guys!!!!
Best video I have seen . Think you.
Good job!
Using that much grease on the axle splines will have you without brakes again in no time. As soon as the shoes and drum get hot it's going to be all over them. A light coat is all that is needed.
Good job. Informative. Bare footed... no less
To much grease. Any grease left beyond the point where you need a lubricant, will attract dust and can cause that dust/sand to migrate onto the face of seals or bearings. Just a very thin layer will work just fine. Just saying.
Bro I would love to do what you do but I can’t
2wd or 4wd
2wd
I love Honda. They are dead nuts reliable, mostly due to their simplicity. That being said, their drum brakes. Wow. What a hassle. I don't think I have ever purchased a used Honda ATV where the drum brakes worked even a little. If you ride in areas with a lot of mud/water, you need to either do a disc brake conversion or learn to ride without brakes and just using gearing. Working on a 2003 450 S that I just bought. Rear shows no signs of life. Up front, all 4 wheel cylinders were frozen solid. I have the front brakes functioning now (waiting on new shoes). On to the rear I guess. Thanks for the video!
No helmet?
So i got mine snorkeled with the intake and 2 diff lines but it keeps cutting off, I dielectric grease on my spark plug boot and siliconed it but it still keeps cutting off. What vents did you run on the carb??
What did u use to clean it
How many vent lines do you have
Hardest part of it all is finding that 10mm socket
good vid but.... you start off stating that your dust cover seal is shot and I was expecting you would show the install of a new seal.
That's what I'm trying to find someone replacing the seal
@@justinlantz6887 to replace the seal, you will need to just pop it out using a large socket that fits around the edge. And grease and replace it in reverse order
come back bru
Why do you go so fast
Guy doesn't know how use a torque wrench.
How many 90’s or 45’s
10ft? Pvc
I can't get the damned drum off, somethings seized good .....
I can’t get it on with the new brakes how’d you get it on
I’m about to put rancher stocks on mine to
I cannot for the life of me getting the axel hub nut off. I've hit it with wd40 and penetrating oil, even tried applying heat for a little bit. I currently have both back wheels off and have a crowbar bracing the other side so the shaft cannot turn. Rather sure the breaks are seized up as I cannot rotate the shaft by hand. Either that or the bearings have seized? I can't tell until I can get that hub nut off. Any suggestions?
What about the gas vent line
great video, well though out...however I will add the shaft that controls the shoe movement will and can get stiff almost seizing up if not cleaned and lubricated, Ive ran into this on several machines. if it does not move freely, the control arm will have to be removed and the shaft knocked out, cleaned up and greased before the brakes are installed
I just dont understand why super atv or highlifter have not made a conversion for the 2014-2019 foremans and ranchers yet. There is a massive market for them but they are just dragging ass on it.
They are still gonna go rite out, the only way to fix that is to actually drill large holes on the bottom of the drum cover so it doesn’t hold sand and water in the brakes
There is a 10mm drain plug to drain the boot of any contaminants.
Make a video vent lines for the carb
Where exactly its the enter do you have to pay to get in ?
Are they still working?
Yes they are.
How much did that cost?
Prolly like 10 dollars so it's a pretty good deal
